Good, solid, Weiner restaurant. The 'uptown' location is preferable to me, as it had a big parking lot. Downtown, though a more colorful spot can be difficult for parking. Good hot dogs, with the classic slashes, and some nice char. Fast friendly service, and very attentive. Asked if I wanted my soda in a to-go cup, and instead of taking my cup, she brought a fresh, filled to-go cup. Never had a bad meal here!!

Famous wiener special.....I added the side of gravy

This place has slinging hash down to a science. I drove an hour for their famous wieners and they served it up in less than ten minutes after I sat down. These hot dogs are the truth. I don't know if the wieners are made in house but they are full of flavor. The casing gives it a good snap when you bite down. The bun is soft but manages to hold up under the chili and onions. The french fries where hot and crisp. I opted for a side of their homemade gravy to dip my fries and I'm so glad I did. I honestly wanted to order a burger and pour the gravy over it with a pile of onions.....maybe next time. You seat yourself but the wait staff comes to you to order. Service was quick and friendly. They don't mess around. They get you in and out. This spot was worth the hour drive from Baltimore.

This Chicago girl approves of the Famous Hot Weiner -- good hot dogs, good everything dogs, onion and chili dogs are great. We had vanilla and chocolate shakes that were delicious, better than Wendy's! The atmosphere needs help -- the tables and decor are outdated and bland. They could spice things up a bit and it would be super cute as a 50's diner. Almost a rebrand is needed. Our server, Carly, was a firecracker -- I've never seen someone move so fast and do so much in 20-30 minutes of watching her. She's amazing.

Famous Weiner Spot!

We found this lil gem by accident. My husband loves Hot Dogs so we called early and asked, "is it too early to get a Hot Weiner?" The kind lady said said, "no it's not too early we have Hot Weiners for breakfast" the place was clean the service friendly and the food was delicious! Great specials and we left FULL. Give it a try!!

Fast service, amazing food, great prices and a lot of food! Very clean and friendly service. Definitely recommend!

Hot dog & hamburger special w/chili and onions

For years we've passed this when in town but never stopped in. We finally stopped today and it didn't live up to the hype. My husband and I each got the special...he got two hot dogs with chili and fries, and I got one hot dog and one hamburger with chili and onions. I also got gravy for my fries. The food came out super quick, like our server had barely left with our order. The plates were overflowing with fries and the dogs looked great. I thought I'd accidentally gotten 2 hot dogs, not knowing hamburgers are served in hot dog buns. How was I to know under all that chili and onions was a burger and not a hot dog? Anyway, the burger itself had very little flavor. All I could taste was the bun, onions and chili. The hot dog wasn't much better. I'm not sure what brand hot dog they use but it is lacking in the taste department. The fries, however, were a hit, as was the gravy. Service was excellent. We were checked on often. But service alone would not lure me back. I was expecting more flavorable and memorable food.

We love it. We want to be regulars. Breakfast is great there too. We are trying more things besides the weiners, like the shakes.

Not impressed. Have had better from street vendors. Don't waste your money going here. There are better options.

I'd been concerned about parking as I'd not noticed restaurant parking described on the website, but was relieved to find an alley across from the old hotel in which the restaurant is located. (Parking is 25 cents per 15 minutes. I found this meter a convenient way of ridding myself of a plethora of old nickels which I had accumulated!) I've posted several pictures which I took prior to the crowd arrival. I was promptly greeted and invited to perch myself wherever I wanted. I did notice that they have 2 unisex restrooms which were single-user and quite clean. There was a full bar of which i did not partake. The aforementioned (I love that word!) luncheon served a buffet with beaked chicken, penne pasta, and dessert which was quite tasty. Iced tea, lemon water, and coffee were the available beverages. My biggest concern of available nearby parking turned out to be a non issue. This is a nice place and I had a delightful experience!

We sat upstairs in the brewpub area. We would have preferred a regular table, but it seemed like they really wanted to seat us at a high-top. I didn't feel like pushing back, so we took it. I assumed maybe they were trying to keep the four-top regular tables open, but by the time we left, the high-tops were full and the regular tables were still empty. Maybe there was a reason for it, but it made the seating feel a little odd. For food, I split the meatball appetizer and the tarragon chicken salad sandwich with another person. Both were good. The meatballs were golf-ball sized and served in a small skillet of marinara with two slices of bread. No complaints on taste or quality. The sandwich was also solid and about what I expected from the menu. That said, the pricing felt a little high for what we got. The sandwich was $14 and did not include a side, and the four-meatball appetizer was also $14. Again, the food was good, but it was definitely on the pricier side. I also had the cream ale and the blonde ale. I don't remember the exact prices, but they seemed in line with the styles and I enjoyed both. My biggest complaint was the 3.99% credit card surcharge. That seems steep, especially at a restaurant where lunch can already add up quickly and most people probably aren't carrying enough cash to cover a full meal. To their credit, there was ample signage about the surcharge, so it was not a surprise at checkout. Still, at this price point, adding nearly 4% for using a card left a bad impression. Without the surcharge, this probably would have been a 4-star experience for me. The food and beer were good, and I did not have any real complaint about the quality. But the surcharge, combined with the slightly odd seating experience and higher prices, brings the overall visit down to 3 stars. Overall, I'd consider going back, but the seating experience and credit card surcharge would make me think twice.

I didn't get any drinks, but my friends really enjoyed the beers here. Food was not the best. I personally enjoyed my coconut curry chicken, but my friends weren't impressed with their food, notably the sourdough bread on the sandwiches and the chicken pot pie being particularly unimpressive. If you come, stay clear of the sourdough and pot pie but the beer is good!

If you love large portions and hot yummy food I highly recommend it if you have time. The only issue I have here is this place NEEDS a proper staff. I really do like the folks they run the joint. But the service is inconsistent at best from visit to visit and even on a slow day with an empty dining space it can take a while to get served. Knowing that we went in today not expecting much more than large tasty portions. We took the whole family as a good bye brunch as my oldest his partner who we're visiting with my grandson. Im not sure what happened today but the single little old lady who runs the front was all over the place. She was polite and professional but you could tell she was overwhelmed. It took quite a while to get menus and waters then quite a while longer than that to get to order. She took the order and then we waited. And waited and waited. As we waited the littles started to devolve. And then, we waited some more. From the moment we sat down to the time food arrived was about an hour and a half. By then the kids were done. My wife was done and I was done. The food was hot. Some under cooked and my meal was missing the main component. That mouth watering and coma inducing pastrami. All said and done it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. No one was happy when we left. And that's a huge bummer. The food here is too good for the experience to be so bad. There were apologies and eventually the owner came out and compensated the entire meal. But that's not a good business model. Will I go back? Absolutely. They could cuss me out and I'd go buy the pastrami even if it fell on the floor. It's that good. But I probably won't ever go back with the kids. They don't have the stamina for it and we really have enough time to truly enjoy it as we would like to.
