Overview: Quaint little diner along Rt. 30 with awesome prices Food: I can only speak for the breakfast here, but you really can't beat the price! For less than $5, I got two eggs, hash browns, toast, and four turkey sausage links. It also came with a choice of coffee, tea, small soda, or small juice! The food itself is your standard breakfast fair. I thought the wheat toast was actually better than you usually get at a diner. The eggs and potatoes weren't seasoned at all, but a quick shake of the salt fixed that. All in all, very pleased with it!! My friends also enjoyed their breakfast choices. Recommend: The breakfast specials. Atmosphere: Exactly how you want a roadside diner, plastic table cloths, fake plants, and John Deere tractor themed curtains. It's clean and serviceable. The food here is good diner food at a good price. I come here occasionally for lunch and they do have daily lunch specials which will leave you stuffed for a relatively cheap price. The reason I give them 2 stars is the fact that upon my last visit, my daughter was served tomato soup with the lovely addition of a nice big moth. They were friendly enough when I brought it to their attention, however all they did was bring another cup of soup. They claimed the moth must have been in the bowl when the soup was poured in as the soup was covered. I have never worked in a restaurant, but I would think that you should do more than offer a half hearted excuse. I would have been happier with being offered an alternative or at least a refund on the soup. To me, just bringing another cup of soup was not good customer service. For all I know, they removed the moth and gave back the same cup. After that last experience, I am a little hesitant to return. I do however like the food and may give them another chance. read more

Today was the 14 anniversary for the current owner of this diner,so every eater was offered either a chocolate or strawberry sundae with their dinner. This was unknown to me and my free sundae was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. I had the roast turkey dinner with 2 sides. The turkey was fresh off the bone. The stuffing needed more flavor but the wonderful gravy took care of that. My salad was a nice size and was fresh. The baked potato was huge and filled with melted butter. I asked for both the corn bread and the dinner roll. It was fine. Service was wonderful..and this was during the dinner rush. Other eater's were having broasted chicken,pork chops,and sandwiches. It all looked good and the prices are very reasonable.I did look at the breakfast selections on the menu and they are priced way less than any place I ate breakfast at. read more

Quite literally the worst food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The omelette tasted off, was like vulcanized rubber, and it's fillings ranged between flavorless and incredibly salty. The bacon may have been used to clean up an oil slick. The places is dirty. The staff minimally friendly. There is an odd odor. I would go hungry, rather than eat here AVOID! read more

We ate breakfast here and it was very good. Recommend the chipped beef gravy and the spinach and feta cheese omelet. Good portions. Service was wonderful. Diner is not filthy like one reviewer ranted about. Not one ounce of hostility was not had. Only con I can think of is that booths do not allow don't allow for someone with a larger stature to sit at them. We will definitely stop by again when we are passing through. read more

Menges is usually packed with local patrons. I've had breakfast here a few times and you get pretty heaping helpings. I recall the home fries were plain sliced fried potatoes, that's different. They do have daily specials like hog maw, which I didn't try. However, I was excited the day I came in and they had faschnauts! Yay Menges! read more

Again small diner feel. Really upset with the size of my salad -ordered the large chef and it was more like a side salad with some ham and cheese rolls on the top. Went in this morning for breakfast with my children. I expected it to be busy, but when I saw a male come in, who I've seen before, go into the kitchen and come back out a short time later with a hot plate of food, it made me feel a little upset. I was waiting patently for my food, along with other tables. If that's the owner, he needs a lesson in customer service. Customers come first, your plate can wait you freeloader. stopped in today at 10;30 a.m. The outside ice cream window was open but the ice cream girl was not working until later in the day. So the waitress named Angie waited on me. She was rude and clearly did not want to deal with my ice cream order. she said people don't usually order ice cream this early. I told her if it is too early then why are the windows open and why did she answer the buzzer. She says because they are required too. needless to say the rude grouchy women did not receive a tip. I will never go there again. And the restaurant was not that busy. read more

This little out of the way dinner has a hidden dish on page three of the menu, prime rib open-face sandwich. This prime cut of beef is cooked to customer preference and placed on hearty Texas toast triangles. This was a real culinary pleasure. The service was also efficient & friendly. read more

This is a typical diner with diner food. The restaurant was clean and the service ok. There is a John Deere theme inside, I guess because it is in Adams County farm country. I got the broasted pork chops which were very good. They offered 1 or 2 with the meal . I took 1 and was glad as it was huge. The sides were just so so. I also started with a cup of cream of crab soup. This also was very good. For a diner I would rate this with three stars and will return to try other things. read more
