Stopped by for a quick early lunch on the weekend and was lucky enough to snag a picnic table right outside. We ordered via the kiosk inside. We got their fried chicken sandwich and potato puffs with garlic and parsley. Their food is always made to order so it was super fresh and delicious. The sauce in the fried chicken sandwich is the real winner. A line quickly formed starting at 11:30am so I'd recommend coming early to avoid the wait.

My friend and I had a delicious lunch at Gregoire! We shared an order of the potato puffs, which were delightful. We each ordered a salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and substantial. Despite the delicious salad, I think I'd try a sandwich next time (they looked so good!). There are a couple picnic tables to eat at, but otherwise there isn't much seating. FYI no bathroom. All in all, Gregoire was a solid lunch spot. Ideal for a sunny day in North Berkeley!

I ate at a nearby restaurant and walked by. I saw they had Poutine, which I absolutely love! So, I made it a point to go there to try it out. Service is quick, and staff is super friendly. I also loved that they know the neighborhood dogs, who love to stop by for a little treat of chicken. I met Wyatt the dog today. He was so well behaved and definitely deserved his treat! It was pretty busy. I know this is a local fave. There are only a few available tables and some bench seating, so keep that in mind. I think their packaging is great because it's a box, so you can take the food for a picnic. I think it's a cute little "hole in the wall," that definitely gives it a neighborhood feel. I had their poutine, super delish! Loved their gravy! My husband got their chicken sandwich. So yummy, a little spicy. Lots of different textures which was nice. Looking forward to going back and trying more things!

Little hidden gem on the side of chatting. Blink and you'll miss it! The sandwiches are so incredibly tasty. We ordered the steak and the fried chicken. They have so much more on their menu that I want to explore. The food has great flavors, and the bread was nice and fluffy. After we finished we contemplated getting another one just to try it out. The service was fast, but they do tend to get busy as well. The sitting is limited, but you can always order to go. Or try and wait it out until someone leaves. The ambiance is quiet despite it being on a street. I would absolutely come back here and try other items on the menu!

Grégoire, despite being takeout, is one of those rare gems that punches above its weight and still serves excellent food. Service is straightforward and efficient, definitely a quick pickup with some simple outdoor seating available. We stopped in to give the famous potato puffs a try but also figured to grab a couple sandwiches for lunch. The potato puffs lived up to the hype, golden and airy, with that perfect ratio of crunchiness to fluff- make sure you stop by and grab some potato puffs! Sandwiches weren't the cheapest option but you could immediately tell the quality of the ingredients and the detail put into the craft. To sum up in short- comfort food with style and creativity.

I met my husband in 2023, and I've been hearing about Gregoire potato puffs regularly since 2023. I finally got to experience them first hand! Went for a quick lunch date in Berkeley. Parking is a little tough, there's 30min parking right in front of the restaurant and 2 tables outside so it's easy to watch your car. It's very small inside, so either plan to take it to go or hope one of the two tables opens up. We got 2 potato puff flavors (garlic parm and truffle). I preferred the garlic parm, they don't skip on the parm! The potato balls are pretty rich so I could eat about 2.5. Comes with a creamy sauce. I was pleasantly surprised with their lamb burger. It was light and fresh and it gamey at all. I like the mint sauce they paired with it. Def would come back if I was in the area for a potato puff fix!

Gregoire food truck, is "home of the potato puff", and often found in the Presidio.

As I stood staring up at Gregoire's menu I couldn't help but wonder: why did this music festival in the Presidio feature 2 food trucks (total), both specializing in Fried Chicken? The above has nothing to do with Gregoire specifically, except to say that it left me wondering from which truck I should purchase fried chicken. I opted for Gregoire in the end, probably because the idea of fried chicken atop a salad sounded somewhat delightful. Delightful it was not but I'll give props where due: the fried chicken was good. But that salad... blech. The good fried chicken pieces sat atop what the menu called "spicy cole slaw" and beside asparagus-topped greens with dressing in a separate container. The slaw was over-dressed, slopping into the greens and adding the dressing to those created a combination of flavors that was not good. Two of us were sharing this $18 offering and neither of us ventured much below the chicken. Another less than good food truck experience in the books for me but had I tried only their fried chicken (and maybe the potato puffs) I expect this might've been a 4-star review.

We had a great time trying Gregoire! After a long morning, we decided to walk here for a comfy lunch, and Gregoire did not disappoint. There is only a small area outside to eat, so we took a table as soon as it opened up. It was a little windy, but we managed to hold down the fort when the food came. The tomato soup was so warm and tasty! Definitely one of the most solid soups I have ever had. And the Potato Puffs were delicious! They are so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Unlike anything I have ever had! The fried chicken sandwich was also good, and the lamb salad was fine as well. They are both pretty filling, but a little pricey for what it is worth. Overall, I had a great time and would come back to introduce more friends to the potato puffs.

Why has it taken so long for a French-inspired food truck? They don't need to do crazy burrito fusions when a simple menu of classics done well do the trick. It's been awhile since I really appreciated a soup and sandwich like this. Fried Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich: Even though it was kinda like chicken tenders in a roll, I enjoyed this. It was reminiscent of a po' boy. And chicken tenders weren't some cheap Sysco frozen nonsense, but made by the truck people. Grilled Bavette Sandwich: An even better sandwich! Love the tender steak against the creamy cheese spread. And some nice greens. Felt so French and refined. Really setting the bar for what a food truck can do. Crispy Potato Puffs: Kinda like deep fried mashed potato balls. I'm a fan, definitely more creative than regular fries. Cream of Mushroom Soup: This whole cup of soup was an umami bomb. So delicious and simple with the mushrooms and cream. I realized it had been so long since I had mushroom soup, so kinda got me questioning why. Chocolate Bread Pudding: The bread pudding was a bit denser than I liked, but the vanilla sauce on the side was amazing. Even though the bread pudding could have been more moist, that sauce fixed everything.

We arrived right when they opened and were the first customers in. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, walking us through the menu and making great suggestions. We ordered the garlic and parsley potato puffs (a must), the fried chicken sandwich, the baked rock cod wrap, and the poutine--everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. If you get only one thing, it has to be the potato puffs. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and perfectly seasoned. The garlic and parsley flavor did not disappoint, and now we're already planning a return visit to try the other flavors. A great spot for comfort food done right.

The potato puffs were a favorite a decade ago when it meant we had to take the bus to northside from the college campus, and they're still a favorite now years later as we drive in . They're so consistent, the potato puffs have tasted the same all these years: buttery, cloud like, delicious!

Their menu showed items like waffles and croissant French toast, which sounded really promising. I decided to try the croissant French toast and really wanted to like it. The croissant itself had potential, but the egg mixture was very heavy and lacked some of the warm flavors you typically expect in French toast, like cinnamon or vanilla. Even with the berries and syrup, it still leaned very egg-forward. I also ordered a side of bacon for some extra protein, and that was actually cooked really well. For drinks, I tried the strawberry latte with the vanilla bean soft top. I initially expected more of a coffee-forward drink, but it was much sweeter and reminded me more of an elevated strawberry milk. The space itself is cute and gives more of a social, aesthetic hangout vibe than a traditional brunch spot. Parking can also be a bit tricky. There's free parking in the Trader Joe's garage nearby, but it's unclear whether parking there while dining at the café is allowed. Overall, I liked the concept and atmosphere more than the actual food during this visit.

As a huge fan of French cuisine, I'd been following RÊVE for years and decided to book a table for the graduation dinner. I made a reservation about three months in advance just to be safe, since the restaurant only has about eight indoor tables. The restaurant was tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, but upon entering through the side gate, I felt like I was stepping into a Parisian neighborhood bistro. Our friendly waitress walked us through the menu and seasonal specials and even pointed out the can't-miss dishes. Thank goodness we followed her advice - the frites were among the best I've ever tasted! We debated ordering another cone of frites but decided to pace ourselves because we also ordered the gougères, RÊVE salad, and escargot to share. Additionally, we received complimentary fresh baguette and butter. For my main dish, I decided to try the quenelle, which can be described as a soft dumpling made from seafood purée that resembles a velvety soufflé. Every bite had a rich seafood flavor that, even now, I can't stop thinking about. Even though we were quite full after dinner, we were tempted by the dessert menu and decided to split the chocolate mousse and French opera cake.
