Super late review! Go to order is obviously the chicken pot pie mac but I also highly recommend their garlicky bacon mac as well. I can't recommend their kogi short rib mac though - just didn't vibe with it. It could've been the sauce or the meat in general, but it wasn't right for me. I mainly been coming here for pickup orders. Haven't had any issues so far! I highly recommend downloading their app or signing up for an account online so you can collect points and redeem later for free dessert and more!

I'm glad I got to experience this macaroni please. I will say, the Banana Cream Pie Parfait was the show stopper. The service was nice, and the ambiance is cute. My only side note, my macaroni was cold when it got to me, I was with one friend, so I'm assuming they wanted to bring it together. I still enjoyed it.

This location is situated on a private parking lot with reasonable parking spaces available. The entire restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with beautiful light fixtures and black and white photos of Berkeley as wall decor. There is an overflow of seating with areas to wait if you are taking your food to go, or table seating if you prefer table service. Outdoor seating is also accessible featuring a fire pit for dining in the evening. There is a bar area that features a limited selection of beer and wine and two flat screen tvs that display closed caption. The music selection is appropriate for the location, it gives chill vibes. The exposed piping added to the industrial appearance that matches the open spaces. I was greeted upon entering and the menu was explained to me as this was my first time purchasing. I was given space and time to decide on my order. My only complaint would be that I was told they don't have physical copies of their menu but I could access it online. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac, I would rate it a 7/10, I wouldn't order again but I would like to try other items on their menu. In addition to the Buffalo Chicken Mac, I ordered the Koji Short Rib Mac which the receiver rated it 9/10 and would totally order again, they said it was a bit spicy but not overwhelming. Last I ordered the Gilroy Garlic Mac and added the Koji Beef Short Rib for my son who rated it 8/10. All of my food was ordered to go but next time I will be dining in for the full experience.

I ordered take out on Saturday and was not expecting a 20 + minute wait. The staff were nice and gave a limeade and cookie for the long wait. The Gilroy garlic mac was good. Great portion and super filled gooey cheese. Next time, might have to call in the order way ahead of time.

The food was delicious, but I would especially like to highlight the children's play area. My kids (4 and 6) and I drove in from Reno with an even longer drive ahead of us. This isn't far from the freeway, the food was great, and my kids found plenty to do in the play area. They have played games, and are now playing pretend at the long table. It isn't super busy on a Friday at lunch, so I was able to sit at a table right next to the play area. They can go back and forth in between bites of their food, while I enjoy mine. An added bonus is that the decor is lovely. It feels like a grown up restaurant catering to kids and families, not a kids' restaurant.

We were craving mac n cheese and came back to try some of their other flavors. This time we ordered the Kogi Short Rib Mac and the Garlicky Bacon Mac. Both were delicious. The kogi short rib mac had a sweet flavor from the kogi bbq sauce, along with Gouda, pecorino, scallions, garlic butter, and sriracha. If you like a little kick of heat, this is your go-to. The garlicky bacon mac came with lots of bacon, garlic gouda, and pecorino. It tasted cheesier compared to the short rib mac. If you are a bacon lover, this is your go-to.

Homeroom feels like a cozy blanket right out of the dryer on a cold blustery day. I love this place. Everyone who works here is so sweet and kind and the food is creatively comforting and delicious. Every single thing I've tried I've loved. I love Brittny & Kacey and the level of service they offer every customer. It's so refreshing to be served by super sweet people who care about the type of experience you're having at their establishment. If you get a chance come to Homeroom and indulge on some oooey gooey goodness.

Had our usual Macs: Jalapeño Popper Mac - 7* Elote Mac - 5* (Wish there were more Vegetarian Mac choices in the Mac Trio) Good service and Nice ambiance!!

I dined here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and sat at the bar. It was very quiet inside so we received extra great service. We shared an order of brussel sprouts, the French onion Mac n cheese, and the chicken pot pie Mac n cheese. I thought it was weird that the chicken pot pie had no chicken in it - we search and there was none! In the future, I'd order something else and prioritize adding some type of protein. Otherwise, the food was yummy - large portions also meant that we had leftovers so that's also a win in my books.

Homeroom always serves up the ultimate comfort food for every occasion! I frequent Homeroom for takeout, yet I never get bored because they have such a wide variety of flavors to try from. When I'm feeling something simple but aromatic, I go for the Gilroy Garlic. When I'm wanting something a little more refreshing, the Elote Mac or the Garden Pesto Mac hit the spot. And sometimes, when I really just need something to warm my tummy and my soul, the Kogi Mac is what I reach for. Also, how could I forget? The sides! If you're not quite in to Mac and cheese, at least come try their Bacon Brussels & Buttery Garlic Green Beans! The Brussels can also be ordered without bacon. I am definitely guilty of just getting an order of Brussels sprouts and taking it home to eat with a hot bowl of rice. Since it's such a crowd pleaser, you could even bring it to a potluck! I have yet to dine in at the Berkeley location. But I've waited in the lobby for my takeout. It's spacious, modern, and sleek. There's also a play area for the little ones! Perfect spot for a family dinner. I do also want to mention the Vegan Mac! Even though I don't have a picture of it, I still think about it often. When Trader Joe's doesn't have their butternut Mac and cheese in season, the Vegan Mac here is a great dupe! Smooth and creamy without the dairy.

Yes, Homeroom is in Berkeley, now too. Parents who wait for their kids get out of a concert @ 924 Gilman, treat yourselves here ^_^. I walked in 30 minutes before the restaurant closed and the service was outstanding. Thanks, I'll be back to order macs ;)

Their Oakland location was pretty memorable for me when I used to go there many years ago. Pretty happy to see they opened another location in Berkeley that's a lot easier to park at. Hawaiian Mac (5/5) - Added some breadcrumbs and it was still as delicious as I remember. That blend of pineapple and bacon hits the spot. Elote Bowl (3.5/5) - Was ok but wouldn't order again. If you are a fan of restaurant mac and cheese, I would definitely recommend.

One of our coworkers recommended Gather, a large, farm-to-table restaurant, so five of us ventured here for a business dinner. The food and service were definitely 5 stars. Great laid back vibe. We came on a Tuesday night and yet the restaurant eventually got busier through the night. My favorite dishes were: Yellowtail Sashimi and Corn Riblets are both great appetizers and full of flavor. We should have double ordered to split among five. The half roasted chicken had crispy skin and was fairly well seasoned and moist. I don't indulge in desserts as much these days but if split a few desserts among five people you get 1/5 the calories, LOL! I recommend the warm bread pudding, pecan sundae, and salted chocolate chip cookies. In case street parking is difficult (it often is in Berkeley!), the restaurant is located right next to Oxford Garage which has a low flat fee for weeknights.

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. Would come back to try other items, especially dessert.

I've been here for date nights, holiday dinners, business dinners, and countless meals with friends visiting from out of town. It's one of those rare restaurants that seems to work for just about any occasion. The service is always great, the College Avenue location is hard to beat, and I've always had good luck finding street parking nearby. The ribeye is my personal favorite and what I order more often than not. If you're coming with a group, the cheese and charcuterie plates are a great way to start. The menu is varied enough that there's always something for everyone, and I've never had a bad meal here. I was genuinely sad to hear that they'll be closing at the end of the year. Restaurants with this kind of quality, consistency, and character are increasingly rare. If you've never been, make a point of going while you still can. I'll certainly miss it once they're gone.

They did partially redeem themselves by comping our meals due to their error and additional time we had to wait, but you would think they would not make such a blatant mistake in the first place. Sloppy service for sure. It apparently wasn't our waiter's fault, who was super friendly, but some manager or somebody, who did completely the wrong thing without double checking, and grabbed our food and set it down on some other patron's table, who I guess then began eating it. Seriously? The food has always been good here but the atmosphere super loud and echoey, not good. So, needless to say, I'm glad they are closing. It's just unfortunate that they are leaving somewhat bad terms with me.

For the appetizers, we got the caprese salad ($19), cheesy garlic bread ($14), chicken wings ($18), and BBQ pork riblets ($18). The caprese salad was one of my favorites. The spring mix was super fresh, and even though I'm not the biggest cheese fan, I really liked the fresh mozzarella. The vinaigrette had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors, making this a great spring or summer salad. The BBQ pork riblets and chicken wings were both a little dry. I liked the seasoning on the riblets, while the chicken wings were a bit lighter in flavor. The cheesy garlic bread was, as expected, super cheesy! I didn't realize the roasted garlic was served on the side, and personally wasn't the biggest fan of its flavor, but the focaccia itself had a great texture. We also shared the Aries ($22), Mercury ($21), and Cassiopeia ($25) pizzas. The Aries was a classic pepperoni pizza with a nice thin crust, and the Mercury was a margherita pizza. I liked the fresh tomatoes, although I wish there had been more basil. The Cassiopeia was my favorite of the three, and I can definitely see why it's so popular. The BBQ sauce was super flavorful and paired really well with the chicken and onions.
