We really enjoyed our traditional Italian meal here and found the food to be incredibly tasty while the staff were warm and friendly. We like how this particular location is not as busy as the one in Potomac, which can often attract large crowds of children. I guess it's my fault for ordering a sub here on my lunch break but they should not be charging that much for something this sad. If you want a real good hot Italian sub go to DuPont Market on 18th st. For $14 you get yourself a real good quality sub that's a bigger portion and cheaper than this one. This place has wonderful food and is very spacious with a great vibe. When we came in, we were seated promptly at a table of our choice. The issue was that we weren't waited on for a while, not even given water. We had to ask passing waiters for our beverages and then our food. It seemed like they had a couple large tables that may have been demanding. Once we received the food, it was wonderful. My friends and I shared the bruschetta and mussels. I got the baked ziti and my friends got a seafood pasta and lamb chops. I would definitely give this place another chance to see if the service was situational or not. read more

We were greeted and sat pretty quickly however the host sat us in a booth that was directly next to a table when there were a lot of seats opened so i asked if it was possible to sit at a one of the booths on either side. he sighed rolled his eyes and just moved us without saying a word... rude. the Ravioli Di Gregorio was so creamy and cheesy and delicious. i loved the seafood in it and used the breadsticks to dip it in the sauce. the frutti di mare was okay, the sauce was super watery. however it came with lots of seafood so it doesn't lose all its points. they have outdoor seating that would have been perfect for a chilly night as they have electric heaters outside. each dish was about $32, a little bit on the pricey side but i would come back maybe to share one with someone because they came with a big portions. read more

My wife and I like to do date nights at home after the kids go to bed. It started with Rose's at Home during the pandemic, but we've now expanded to having even just a dessert just to us without having to get a sitter and go out. We're frequently looking for new places to pick up a meal or dessert that we can easily have at home after the kids go to bed. With that in mind, we were pretty excited to try the tiramisu and cannoli from Gregorio's. The good news was that it was easy to order, only a few minutes away and only $20 for the two desserts with tax and tip. The actual desserts were less impressive. The cannoli was the better of the two and quite good even if the shell was a bit thicker than I would have chosen. The tiramisu was disappointing. There was almost no discrenable coffee flavor and I'm pretty sure no cocoa whatsoever. So, it was mostly just a sweet, thick pudding with lady fingers in it. read more

Generally, Italian American cuisine is pretty basic as a rule. If you assume they all are as bland as Olive Garden, you won't be disappointed. With this attitude, we went into Gregorio's and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! The service was very friendly and attentive. We had the (not real name) Lemon Chicken and Spaghetti Ragu. Huge portions and both had a depth of flavor that you don't anticipate at a place like this. I would totally get these again! The free bread was a mix of soft bread sticks and these amazing garlic bread knots. Those knots were addictive, so much so that my wife and I had an argument over who ate more... My only gripe is that the house red is a $16 glass of Chianti. While a decent wine, that was a tad higher priced than expected for a house red. I also would have liked there to be a drinks/wine menu on the table. I assume they have them, but it would be nice to have table side from the beginning. Overall, I was very happy here and can't wait to return the next time we are in the area. read more

But after being largely 0 for 3, I have to say this place just doesn't live up by any means close to the 4.5 rating it somehow has on Yelp. The pastas don't have much flavor and seem like they've just been mixed with the sauce from a jar at the last second like at Sbarro's. The pizzas taste like frozen pizza from a grocery store. The minestrone is ok but no better than canned. The only thing I've enjoyed here is the grilled salmon salad. That was well executed, crisp on the outside, and fresh. For kids I will say it's nice that they give them dough to play with while they wait. Also the garlic bread to start is ok, and the meatball app is fine but again, nothing special. Service is fine, but given the subpar pastas and pizzas we won't be back. read more

Calamari was a totally different story......not edible. Tasted of old grease/fry compound. Server did not check on us during our meal, such that at meal's end, the calamari was waiting for him on the plate. He made no inquiry as to our satisfaction, etc. and proceeded to present our bill. Had to ask for the mgr who quickly did the right thing and took it off our bill. Thanks! In all, a marginal dining experience. The food is good, but at least if you're getting pickup / delivery, you need to know that it's slooooooooooow. Three examples: 1) I recently ordered delivery of a pizza and two kids meals on a Sunday night. I'm just 8 minutes from the restaurant. It took 100 minutes to arrive. 2) Another time, I went to the restaurant to pickup a pizza and fries. They told me that the order wasn't ready, and that if I sat at the bar they'd tell me when it came out. Only problem was, they never told me. Finally, I checked what was going on, and it turns out they had forgotten to let me know the food was done. 3) They run the concession stand at AU basketball games. They only sell two items - chicken fingers and pizza - so you'd think it would super fast. Nope. I waited in line for a whole hour. read more

We came by for lunch after visiting Suburban Hospital. Fast service and HUGE portions. Our servers are so nice, he actually split the plate for me and my friend free of charge. My friend got a personal pizza AND the fettuccine Alfredo because ol girl can eat, and she said both were very good. The $5 additional dollars to add chicken to an already 18.00 dish was a bit more than hoped but, meh... what are you gonna do? My friend had a cannoli for dessert and I had a drink with smoked maple, something something bacon... basically a lil sweeter than an old fashioned and it was decent. Overall, I'd definitely come again... repeatedly. Prices are decent, portions are OUT OF CONTROL, so you feel you get your money's worth and the food is very good. Standouts were: The calamari was some of the best I've ever had, crispy and flavorful with no visible grease, braised short rib on top of risotto.... Whoa. It was perfectly cooked, flavorful with one of the loveliest sauces I've tasted. Salmon was cooked a stellar medium rare with pasta in a rose sauce, broccolini was undercooked, however. Went with my family this past Saturday and enjoyed every moment of my time there. The service was quick and extremely friendly. Drinks came out very fast too (granted, there weren't many people there at the time we went). The food was delicious and portions are generous so be prepared to eat! We got the calamari which was actually legit calamari and not just a few fried pieces of seafood. A personal pizza to share amongst the four of us which we only had one slice of each (but was delicious. I ate the remaining two slices the next day). And we all got our own dinner entrees. The rigatoni pasta was over cooked but because the sauce and sausage was so delicious I didn't mind. Their vodka martini was pretty strong so if you're planning on drinking I highly suggest you get your fill in here.
