As a result, I have no cartilage between my leg and foot and severe arthritis. I have lived with pain the entire time. Whenever I asked a practitioner for something for the pain, they either suggested ibuprofen or said they don't prescribe opioids. Hmm, I wonder if that's a liability thing? Rosemary engaged in dialogue with me about my pain. Describe what your pain is like--dull, throbbing, shooting? When did I feel it? What brought it on? What made it worse, etc. After these conversations she explained her diagnosis and therapeutic plan. She started me on a milder pain medication regimen and, when I didn't get relief, either increased dosage or changed medication. What I appreciate, among many aspects of her practice, is her belief that no one should live in pain. Her level of care and respect are exemplary. I wish all primary care practitioners shared her beliefs.

Second, with regard to my personal safety, they loaned me a walker for stability over my cane. I was walked to my car by the doctor assisting me. He showed me a quick maneuver to move easily into the car. Then reminding me to purchase a walker, he kindly closed my door and took the walker back into the building. In between arriving and leaving, I felt respected for what I was able to do and not frowned on for what I could not do. Last, and certainly to be recognized, in one month I have seen and felt improvement and progress. The pain is down from eight to two. I pray you don't need physical therapy, but if you do, go in with confidence!

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I came in specifically because I was feeling unwell and suspected a blood sugar issue--especially since lab work from a different clinic the prior week showed a fasting glucose level high enough to indicate diabetes. Despite explaining this, the Physician Assistant (PA) dismissed my concerns, told me I "didn't fit the profile" for diabetes, and ordered a thyroid panel instead. Three days later, the support staff called to tell me they lost my blood sample and needed me to come back in. When I expressed frustration that they lost my sample for a test I didn't even ask for--while still refusing to run the metabolic panel I actually needed--the staff member literally hung up on me. I only returned the next day because it is within walking distance of my house and I was having the same feeling again, wanting to get to the bottom of what was happening. While the PA on duty that day was attentive, she ended up sending me to the ER for my blood pressure. After waiting four hours at the hospital, the ER doctor confirmed it wasn't an emergency at all. To top it all off, I received another call from the urgent care informing me that they did eventually run a metabolic panel, and my A1C and fasting glucose levels are, in fact, indicative of diabetes. Between the PA completely dismissing a patient's concerns, the staff losing blood samples, and being hung up on, the lack of professionalism and competence here is alarming. Go somewhere else.

Sergio helped with taking my vitals and noting my symptoms. He repeated my blood pressure test after the first one was pretty high. He encouraged me to relax in between and breathe deeply. Of course, the second reading was better. He was very professional and compassionate! I saw Dr. Victor Nekrasov, who did a thorough examination and discussed the symptoms I've been having. I felt that his questions were good, and I did not feel rushed at all during my time with him. He prescribed a few meds, and I was on my way. They confirmed which pharmacy I preferred, and I opted for CVS located across the street. I was encouraged to return to the clinic and/or follow up with my PCP if symptoms did not improve. She cracked my neck and lower back. And that was it! I was literally in and out of the office in 15 minutes. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in the bedside manner of Dr. Monica. I feel like if she could've spent a little more time with me considering she would've been the chiropractor who I would be seeing in the duration of my pregnancy and thereafter. My neck pain somewhat subsided, I'm still having tension headaches. And my lower back actually felt worse up to two days after my "adjustment". I made an appointment to come the week after, because she was standing right there in front office when I was leaving, but I immediately called the next day to cancel. Once she worked on the areas, my foot pain is practically zero. It's important to see medical professionals that do not treat just the area of pain but look further into where the pain originates. Best 30 minute massage of my life. I needed a quick sports massage for my legs, knees, feet, etc…read more while training for an ultra. I told Elbert my concerns, and he went above and beyond to help me feel better. He worked all the areas affected by running (even deep tissue hip release) with unique massage techniques, cupping, scraping, and more. He explained everything he was doing and what it was targeting. The session was intense, but so effective. Next time (yes I will definitely be returning), I am ready to go in for an hour. Thank you Elbert for getting me better!
