My oven had already been worked on twice within the first year warranty, but the company that Home Depot sent was unable to fix the problem after two attempts, even though the oven was new at the time. Nick, on the other hand, diagnosed the problem and fixed it successfully on his first attempt. His work was very efficient and he could not have been more professional, courteous, or pleasant throughout the entire process. The second appliance was my washing machine, which presented a little more of a challenge because the necessary part was difficult to find, but Nick was able to locate the correct part and complete the repair really quickly. The three visits to work on both appliances included the initial evaluations, identifying and obtaining the correct parts, and completing repairs to both appliances. Considering the amount of time Nick spent working, and the fact that three separate visits were required, I found the prices to be extremely reasonable. By today's standards it's worth repeating....the prices were extremely reasonable ! I highly recommend TJ Appliance Repair, and if you have the opportunity, I would recommend asking for Nick. They carry all kinds of useful everyday products, many of which are imported from Korea. The store has two floors and sells everything from clothing and underwear to household items, beauty products, and many other practical things. My Mom has probably been here dozens of times, maybe even more than 100 times, over the years, and I've also been here many times myself. But surprisingly, this is my first time ever writing a review for this place! We went there this time because I was looking for a sports bra. My Mom highly recommended this store because she said Korean underwear tends to fit Korean body types better and is more comfortable. One of the things I really liked was that you can actually try on bras in the fitting room before buying them. The employee was very kind and helpful. She explained the different sizes and helped me choose which sports bra would work best for me. After trying on a few options in the fitting room, I found a sports bra that fit me perfectly and was very comfortable. I ended up buying two of them, one black and one beige. My Mom also wanted to buy a pair of underwear, so I purchased three items together. After that, we went downstairs to the first floor, where I bought a Korean hair-dye product that is apparently designed to be used almost like shampoo. I also ended up buying a pair of slippers to wear at home. My Mom also bought a Korean product called "Bal-eul Ssiseuja" ("발을 씻자") which I recommended to her. It has apparently become extremely popular in Korea recently. The funny thing is that I somehow ended up with three separate receipts that day! First, I paid separately for the sports bras. Then I bought the hair-dye product and checked out separately. Later, while looking around for household items, I suddenly thought, "Oh, should I buy a pair of slippers too?" So I bought those separately as well. This place is always extremely popular because they sell such a huge variety of useful everyday products and household items. Because of that, the parking lot is always very crowded. There is security staff helping direct cars in the parking lot, which is helpful. However, the lot is still pretty tight and busy. I'm especially not very good at parking in narrow parking spaces, so it was actually really convenient and relaxing to come with my Mom, who is an excellent driver and very good at parking. Overall, I had a really nice shopping trip here with my Mom. It's one of those places where you can always find something useful, even when you didn't originally plan on buying it!

Staff has always been friendly and kind, keeping in mind speaking Korean is helpful if you are looking for something specific. It's NOT necessary, just helpful. They have so many Korean focused products mostly in home goods like kitchen items, tons of bedding, rice cookers and kimchi fridges, but also things like makeup, skincare and clothes. Well priced house slippers with a lot of options! The entire second floor is electronics and more expensive goods, which I hear are not the best to buy here. I usually stick to cheaper items, more kitchen and cooking related needs at Kim's. They have a pretty strict return policy which I hear is a bit risky for more pricey items. I went in specifically for Makgeolli supplies and was so happy to find the pot & cups I needed, at nearly half the price of amazon! Support local stores instead of shopping online! I'm definitely a fan of Kim's Home Center and will come here for all my related needs in the future.

But because they ONLY sell appliances, their "small" stature soon grew to big when you consider the size of the appliance department with bigger stores. I have to say after my own frustrating search, I was not hopeful. I have a 100-year-old house with many restrictions, plus I don't want what most do: I don't want induction, I don't want convection, I want all electric, and I require a storage drawer. I wasn't finding ANYTHING like that (with perhaps the exception of an $6,000- $10,000 range) and held little hope. Oran Fine asked me if he could help. I had no idea just how much! He went right to work on it. I live close by, and had a tight schedule. So, I listed my needs, my budget (not big!), gave him my e-mail address and by the time I got home (10 minutes?) I had information from him. The PERFECT range for me. At a very good price. I was able to buy it through his e-mails, and when I told him the price of a refrigerator I wanted on sale at a Big Box store, he matched the price in both the appliance and warranty. Oran went so far as to check with me as to what type of outlet I had for my current range and when it wouldn't work with the new one he texted the specs and the actual picture of the plug and outlet it needed to my electrician. (Even my electrician was impressed!) He also got the length of the refrigerator power cord for me (who does that?) so I would know if that outlet also needed adjusting. The day of delivery I was given a 2-hour window, and then called with a "be there in 10 minutes" arrival time. The installers were FABULOUS. My house is hard. Lots of nooks and crannies and tight hallways and sharp turns and they did not let it deter them. They worked hard and efficiently and left everything in perfect order. I called Oran the next day to thank him and he said he would connect with his team and they would do all the warranty paperwork and send me the information for me to keep. WOW. Can you imagine a Big Box store doing all this???? SO pleased I went there. HUGELY better service, GREAT price match, and thinking through the whole process with you (as in texting specs to my electrician). Can't imagine going anywhere else for my next appliance need. Jose showed up about 30 minutes later and gave me a really affordable estimate. He immediately knew what the issue was--super knowledgeable about appliances! We had a few different handymen look at our dryer before, but none of them could figure it out. Jose diagnosed it right away. With that being said, I paid $350 for what looks like a brand new frost-free machine. I believe it's 15.6 ft.³ & it came w/a 6 month warranty. Called and told by the store , I have to empty out the water from water tank every now and then. I replying , previous dryer didn't have to empty out the water tank and installers never told me about it. Han's very rudely saying it's my responsibility to know how to work the new dryer and they can't come out to take it look at it because they didn't make money off on this dryer. Later called back and saying water hose might not have been connected and or installed it probably. After arguing, they send other techs to come by after week later and determined water hose was connected wrong. It was fixed after, but why is it customer's responsibility to know about everything, when it was Han's 100% at fault. Very unprofessional and highly not recommended.
