I have had two repairs from Mauricio's Appliances. In March 2025 my 1991 Kenmore refrigerator had water pooling below the crisper and dribbling out to the floor. I disassembled the freezer and thought I'd fixed it but hadn't. Ruben came after hours, impatiently brushed aside my diagnosis, tore the freezer apart and found the rusted metal channel that no longer held water during freezer auto-defrost. He told me to junk the frig, but I wanted it fixed and...he pulled a miracle by making a compound of Alex caulk, baking soda and Krazy Glue with which he built a new channel that still holds! I was impressed--$150.00. Just now (September 2025) my 1986 Maytag washer sprung a leak. Lupo diagnosed corroded hoses and leaky water inlet valve--to return and repair with parts $250.00. This was below my "replace it" price of $300.00 so I agreed. Lupo did the repair--did a brief test and declared it fixed--but it leaked when I put in a full load. Lupo came back, disassembled the machine, found a leaky water filter that he could not fix and offered just the right solution. He bypassed the filter and said it was unnecessary because both the new hose and the new water inlet had filters that would suffice. If I wanted a new water filter he would install it for just the price of the part ($49). I decided to do without the part and have done one wash without problem. I have done two repairs on the machine myself over the course of its lifetime and was impressed with the competence and efficiency Lupo showed in breaking the machine down and reassembling it very quickly--work that takes the unskilled DIYer forever and a day with mishaps along the way. These are very competent and honorable workmen and their work coordinator, Emmanuel, was friendly, efficient and easy to access. read more

My landlord, a sharp guy who owns a bunch of buildings and uses Ruben from Mauricio's, recommended him highly. My refrigerator is a weird size because I live in an old house and only certain sizes can get through the back door. A new fridge would be very expensive. Ruben came over, diagnosed the problem, and was able to fix the fridge I had. He is awesome and was super-smart about figuring out some thorny issues. They were all very kind to me. This business is the worst! I contacted this place to repair my refrigerator I received nothing but sexual harassment from an employee. The most uncomfortable feeling ever!!! I contacted the owner told him how dissatisfied I was with the work and the treatment. I paid for my refrigerator to be repaired which it wasn't, nor was it ever corrected! My refrigerator till this day is still turned up to the max, freezes all of my fruits and vegetables. With it being turned up to the max, it either freezes everything or certain items become bad due to it not being the correct temperature. read more

Thank God for Mauricio Appliances, my front loader was acting crazy, wasn't draining, so I pulled up YouTube on the machine and it said it may be filter's clog. I told my self , you can do this. We'll, I hadn't for days, went to laundry mat, doing eight loads, and know after that, I COULD NOT DO THAT AGAIN. So I founded this Company in my neighborhood, called that morning and they were out at my place within 2hrs. 1 guy, very nice, came , knew what the problem was, took it apart, and bingo, clogged filter. Just as YouTube had described. He vacuumed filter, cleaned it out, gave me some great tips on keeping it clean. Also fixed, a minor rubber issue . Over the past week or so, I've noticed a problem with my fridge. I called up Mauricio's because I live in the neighborhood and want to support the local businesses. I told them what the problem was and, luckily, they were able to come out within a few hours of my call. The gentleman that helped me out was Kenrick. He arrived on time, walked in, talked to me for a few minutes about what was going on, and immediately knew what the problem was. He quoted me the price, I agreed, and fixed it on the spot because he had the parts with him. We were done within an hour. No mess. No hassle. It was great. I wish all the issues with my home could be fixed as easily and affordably as this was. I highly recommend them for any and all appliance problems, especially those of you in the neighborhood. I agree with some of the other negative comments. Be VERY careful buying an appliance from here. They have a 90 day warranty, however the transmission on the refurbished washing machine I bought went ONE MONTH after the warranty was up. I had it for less than 4 months. The repair person said it was not fixable. NO remorse from the company. The probably sell appliances on their last leg to make a profit. Now I am out the $ on spent on the washer 4 months ago + a brand new washing machine for $500+. Waste of money. I also bought a refrigerator from here which has had a number of problems since I purchased it. TDLR, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE. read more

I bought a refurbished fridge here 7 years ago, about 2 months after we bought it it started making some noises, and they send someone to repair it the same day, covered b the warranty. After that repair the fridge worked great all 7 years we owned it. We just let to go die to moving to a new place which came with a fridge (which is crapping out within the first month of living there!) so we will be back soon, hopefully we get the same great experience as last time. read more

Hooray for Mauricio's!! Our dishwasher broke and we had the toughest time booking a repair. We tried to schedule with GE direct and they let us down a few times. Finally someone recommended a local superstar handyman who didn't do appliances but always uses Mauricio's! They did a same day appointment, were flexible on times, only had a $50 service fee, AND they were able to fix it!! I'm so happy - so many people told me it wasn't worth calling for a repair & I should just buy a new one. Also the serviceman was on time, fast, and really personable. BEWARE DO NOT COME HERE, This place is the worst. I would never come here but my apartment complex bought all my "new" appliances here. Well new to me. I dint know how old these things are that they suck. The owner or manager Ruben Came today to "fix" the oven for the 2nd time and my mother in law let him in, then locked the doors and left after he was done. Well 4 hours later I come home from work after picking up my 8 month old and there's a cloud of gas in the entire apartment. Stupid Ruben left the oven on while I was gone. And if the oven would've turned on , thankfully it didn't, cause it doesn't work the entire apartment would've caught on fire. The entire apartment smelled like gas. After they took the oven, I had to leave to let all the gas released during those 4 hours ventilate . And once I got back home I had to wash all my daughters bottles and clothes and toys that were exposed to the gas. And when I spoke to Ruben over the phone all that coward could say was that he didn't leave it on. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!? Well I sure as hell didn't leave it on! Cause I wasn't home and my mother in law didn't touch the oven all you did was waste my time and cause an inconvenience. I couldnt be home all day because of his carelessness and He wasted even more of my time because I had to wash all my daughters things and now writing this review to WARN OTHERS. You get what you pay for. I would never buy anything from here but I have to deal with Dumb ass Ruben cause my apartment complex is cheap. I wanted to ask you Ruben. Would you buy your wife this stove??? This piece of shit stove that turns on and off randomly ??? The temperature isn't even correct i have to put it on 400 to get a temp of 300. This business continues to disappoint. Our landlord uses them and they have repeatedly been no shows for appointments. They are unprepared. The owner Rueben takes a hostile tone and is aggressive. He blames customers for his lack of preparation. Employees are not following Covid precautions. I feel like this is one of those places that you see CBS doing an under cover investigation about where they get their appliances from. Most unprofessional place ever. Of course this place is a scam! They sold us a shotty fridge to begin with, we told them we want to return it (they of course have a no returns policy) but said they would pick it up and buy it back from us cheaper. We call to have them pick it up and they say they'll be there after 3. I call at 4:45 to see where he is and he is so rude saying how he already told my husband he'd be there and he's really busy doing something else, that he's not going to leave this $7,000 job to come get the fridge AND HUNG UP ON ME. Ok...I don't give a eff what you're doing and also where did this attitude come from, Mauricio? I was just wanting to know where this guy was. When you tell a customer that you'll be there at a certain time either be there or have the decency to call and say you're running late. So I came here because I really wanted to support local businesses near my house and needed a repair on a washing machine for my grandmother who is bedridden. Asked when someone could come out to fix the machine and I got no call the first day. Wasn't really tripping about it so I waited til the day after. Midway through the day I call the shop and ask where the repairman is so they said check your phone for this number and I had missed the call but they left no message so how was I supposed to know whose random number this was. I talk to him after and he said he would stop by my house towards the end of the day since I live 2 blocks from the shop, he obviously did not show up that day. I call him that night around 7 and asked if he would be coming in the morning and he assured me he would come in the morning. Here we are day 3 still nothing and since I'm an in home caregiver I can't just leave to sit in a laundromat for 2-3 hours. This needed to be fixed in a timely manner and obviously this place is doing great if they refuse to help me. Prices were pretty comparable but this place cleaner, more organized and like they were a business- other places she only looked like a garage with a bunch of old fridge clunkers. I have been getting most my appliance repairs with Mauricio. I always am able to get them to come over and except for once they were there on time and the specialist is always very professional. I recently had them come over to see what was going on with a fridge we have. The specialist was very honest and told me that he would not put a dime more in repairs for this double door GE fridge. It would cost me almost the price of a new one as a couple different parts need to be replaced. I took his word for it and paid him $49 which to me was a fair price for his visit. I will keep going back to Mauricio for their help. Most likely I may even try to buy a used one from them too. Don't hesitate using them, they are very reliable. read more

We are quite happy with Mauricio's Appliances. It's always been a no-nonsense experience. We own a few rental properties around Los Angeles and have worked with Mauricio's several times as well as other used appliance companies. Recently, we had a washer die, and they sent a knowledgable repairman out who fixed it. Although he had to make several trips they performed the work for the same original estimate they gave. I appreciate that greatly. We have also found fantastic deals on appliances here. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE! 2 weeks ago we bought a used fridge from this store and it didn't work properly. They came to fix it and it was still bad, forcing us to throw away 200$ worth of grocery on top of the 320$ we had spent for the fridge. After that we asked them to replace it with another fridge, which they did, only to have that not work as well after a couple of days of proper use, forcing us to throw another 100$ worth of groceries. So that's overall 620$ for non operating used appliances and us being without a fridge. We ended up just ordering a new one online, since we do NOT trust they could actually deliver us a properly operating piece of equipment. Waste of money and time!!!! read more

Not good. Did not show up when they said. My clothes dryer was shutting off after a few seconds of running. The technician mis-read the problem, replaced the thermostat and the dryer still doesn't work, after $160. Now, if might be a control board panel for another $400.+ just for the part, but who knows!
