While I have only ordered pepperoni pizza (yes, when it comes to pizza I have the pallette of a 5 year old) and garlic sticks (omgggggggaaaawd, it is a must with that amazing garlic cheese dip)... I have been with others who have tried to prime rib (rave reviews! ), broiled white fish (delectable) among other dishes. Every time it has been fantastic and very reasonably priced! A decent place to grab a quick bite. However recently the prices have gone way up not sure why. Was able to get an all you can eat fish dinner on Wednesdays for $12 now it's $17. Stirfry was excellent when it was around $12 now it's 18. I can get the same meal at the burger barn in Lapeer for $8.99. However, in the end Gregs is a great place to eat and I would recommend it. read more

Had heard all about Greg's ribs. So we were in the area figure give them a try. Service was ok, although never got a refill on my drink in 40 minutes! Food was out pretty quick, seating arrangements were terrible, talk about no elbow room,people at the table next to us were in our laps. The food; the ribs were mushy, no bite to them, sauce was overpowering, average on a good day. Lasagna was good, but nothing to brag about. Won't be back and can't recommend. read more

I love this place, yes there breadstick rock sooooo much (get the garlic cream cheese dip), great unique pizza (best I have had the day after too) and great selection. I love their ribs, burgers (yum), French onion soup (delicious), French dip (very good), Onion rings (actually are my favorite of anyplace), fries (normal), fish n chips (very good), cole slaw (great), good service and so many other good things. I've been here off and on for years and the breadsticks are a must. In fact, last time we stopped in the area, we just ordered some for takeout. My husband and I came into the restaurant for my birthday dinner with my newborn. I have an exemption from my doctor to not wear a mask. This is a medical exemption that legally protects me. They refused service to us. We waited in the entryway at the hostess desk for over 15 minutes which is the amount of exposure time for COVID.. which I found to be extremely rude and disappointing as I get tested often and I am at risk. The hostess and the assumed owner touched their masks non stop which I also found disgusting. They refused service to us which is against the law and they were very rude. Oh my gosh.........I have not been here in a long time and I suddenly remembered why. It still smells like mildew when you walk into Greg's and the service went from bad to worse. It took an hour to get our dinner and it was nothing to brag about. The waitress brought us butter and no bread sticks. I thought she'd figure it out eventually, but never did. We were in there almost 2 hours just to have dinner. What the heck? All we wanted was a good meal and be in and out. We were very disappointed!!! Never going back! Greg's is one of my top favorite restaurants to go to. I love everything that I've ate there. My husband and I think they have the best breadsticks, onion rings, and beer batter fish. We love there french onion soup as well, it has a delicious well rounded flavor. Their pizza is uniquely delicious as well with it's flavorful sauce, good dough (crust), and good quality meat. The service is still great. I love this place, I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND eating here if your anywhere near metamora, it's well worth it. read more

I have been going to Greg's for 20 years and last night was the last. when we walked in there were no tables with customers the young under age hostess asked me if I had a mask and my answer was "I am not able to wear one but I will hold one to my face but please set me down quickly or if you like I can leave" she sat us down we ordered , received our drinks and salad. while eating my salad a male person came to the table and started chastising me for being rude to the "little girl" (his words) I explained exactly what I said to her listed above and he further explained he was following the law I said again I had the mask on while being seated and I asked him if he wanted me to leave which he replied no, several minutes later he came back to our table with the Metamora Police with full body armor and a big gun on the front of the vest and asked us to leave which we did quickly. this was totally unnecessary as I asked twice if they wanted me to leave. shame on the Metamora mask police, I back our military and police departments and proposed no threat or danger to anyone and there was no just reason for the police to get involved read more

This is a very good restaurant and has good value. Most of the wait staff has been there a long time which should speak to the management being fair. We live in almont and have gone a half dozen times and have yet to be dissapointed. Went there with friends last week and waitress was great, service was great as was meal. It's a little dive on M-24 between Lapeer and Oxford. It's one of those places where you can go in there any day of the week and see the same 10 people around the bar. Those people make me sad. My family has been ordering and going to Greg's for years. This time, unfortunately will be the last. My family does not get to go eat out much, so when we do, it's usually an exciting event. First off, the older lady who took my mother's order hung up on her while she was on the phone. She was super rude to my mother- and that's never okay in my book. While we wanted to cancel our orders at that moment- we decided that the food would hopefully make up for the rudeness of the staff. When we received our food however- they gave us the wrong salad, forgot an entree, and the ribs did not look good at all. I called and spoke with the manager who said he would put our name on an "oops" board for a free meal- but after that service, don't worry we won't be back. I have not been here for 15 years because I moved out of the area. I came back today and had breadsticks and a French dip sandwich. The food is just as fantastic as I remember. The original cheese dip for the breadsticks is spectacular. The au jus was tasty and the meat tender. The bread was slightly toasted and a is a little crunchy on the edges but soft in the middle. They have the prices of fine dining and the look of a cheap grill. Their prices are a major shock, but the portions are decent and the food tastes pretty good. The french onion soup and the prime rib was tasty, and certainly looked bigger than the 8 oz. that I ordered. The ambiance leaves a bit to be desired though. The restroom doors had broken locks, as well as a non-functional hand dryer and the dining area is a bit too dark for my liking. Wait staff is very attentive and friendly. They have a specials menu which is nice, but the least they can do is have people who can spell properly (jelepeno poppers?). The three stars are for the prices and feel of the place. My family and I basically liked it, but it is not a place I would want to eat at, or recommend, often. read more

We have gone to Greg's over the years and it was o.k.. Unfortunately the place smells musty, but once you're there long enough, you don't notice it. We've always ordered sandwiches and they were fine. We recently had pizza and southwestern salad. The server told us that the chicken on the salad was spicy, which sounded good. The salad arrived, iceberg lettuce, a few cucumbers and very unripe tomatoes. The chicken that was on the salad was cut so small, you couldn't see it. No doubt fresh from Gordon's Food Service. I don't write many reviews. I tend to write them for great service and for horrible service. This review falls under the horrible category. My brother and 15 teachers visited this restaurant after school. We spent over $600 dollars between all of us. After cashing out, five of us decided to stay and have a few more drinks. We waited 20 minutes and the waitress never came back. We grabbed a waitress and asked for help. Another 15 minutes went by and no service. We grabbed another waitress and politely asked if someone could help us. 10 minutes later a waitress walks up to us and tells us the owner has asked us to leave. Shocked and thinking it was a joke we first laughed. We were then told it was no joke and we had to leave now. My brother asked to speak to the owner to find out what was going on. The owner of this place does not care about customers at all. He told us we were not ordering anything and that we needed to leave. We told him we had been asking for a waitress for over 30 minutes with no service. Mind you we had already spent over $600 dollars as a group. He said he did not care and for us to get out. All of us were shocked at how we were treated. The service is not great at this place and the owner is downright abusive to customers. The food is average, so if you can find another place avoid this establishment at all cost. I will never step foot in this place again. One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
