    Shepard's Pie. Hearty and delicious.

One of my favorite places in Oxford. Absolutely genuine Irish fare and beverages. From the draft Guinness and Kilkenny beer to the bangers & mash, corned beef, shepherds pie and the best fish n chips in the County. The staff (bartender, waitresses) really seem to care about the customer here. The vibe is mellow and sincere. My kind of place...

Always so great of an experience when I come here. It's fun, old school bar atmosphere. It's a copy of one in Ireland which is really neat. The food is always great. I love the Jameson nachos! Sooooo yummy. This last time we got the Shepards pie and true Irish bacon and cabbage.

We were looking for something different to do than the same old Corktown celebration for St Patty's Day. We planned our day so that we could stay closer to home and meet up with my sister at the end of the day. We started out at Sullivan's Public House in Oxford. This was my first time here but he's tried it before and enjoyed it. When we pulled up we knew it was going to be very busy. We could hardly find a parking spot. We were clearly not the only ones with this idea. By 10 am this place was completely packed!! It's not very big there but we managed to stay comfy! They had bag pipes playing all day there! All of the tables were reserved but we were able to get a spot on the chair rail. Every server was running around but never failed to smile and greet us. We started off with Irish Car Bombs (whoop whoop!) And then switched to their green beer which I think was Miller Lite. We decided to get the Ruben Egg Rolls and they were magnificent!! I would definitely love to come back when it's a bit less chaotic!

Our go to favorite place!!! Trust me and order: fish and chips with an old fashion. We don't even look at the menu any more. BEST fish and chips in a 30 mile radius (maybe more). HUGE fish pieces with a light crunch that is never greasy. The fries are heaven and i could live off them. The old fashion is smoked with hints of orange and dark chocolate - experience from start to finish.

Creme brulee. This is not leftovers- it was packaged for takeout like this.

I ordered the crème brûlée. The picture was lovely and had berries on top. When I received it, it was nothing more than mush dumped upside down in a plastic container. They don't know how to prepare their crème brûlée for takeout and bake in disposable dishes. The manager was very rude, and shorted me on my refund. Will not be back.

I was ready for some Irish Cuisine when we decided to have our monthly lunch group meet up at Sullivan's Public House in Oxford. Our group size varies from four to as many as twelve and today it was ten. Since we hadn't been here before and our group was large I called to see if we could make a reservation and they set it up for us at 11:30am. When you enter you see a typical look of an Irish pub and the main dining area is upstairs. Things were quiet at the time we arrived and our group basically had the entire dining room to ourselves, along with Rachel, our server who was right on top of everything. She explained the weekend Brunch Menu that included breakfast selections, salads, and sandwiches, some with Irish flavors. It did not include what I had planned to choose from like Shepherds Pie or Fish & Chips, so that was a disappointment, but we still found some good choices. My wife decided to order the Michigan Salad that was packed with Candied Walnuts and Dried Cherries. I, on the other hand, tried the Irish Dip, a thick Corned Beef Sandwich with Au Jus for dipping, and fresh cut Fries. Of course I needed a Guinness but just a 16 oz glass because diet (just kidding). My wife said her salad was good but kind of basic. I really liked my Irish Dip and, obviously the Guinness with a silky smooth foamy cap. When the time came for dessert where we normally pass, because we had been looking at pictures posted by other Yelpers of the Guinness Chocolate Cake so we ordered one to split. Rachel explained that it was no longer a Cake with Guinness in it but that we could order what they called a Baby Guinness that was a mixed shot of Kahlua & Bailey's that we could pour over the cake, which we did...Mmmmm! I wanted to lick the plate when we finished but my more refined self settled for just drinking the remaining liquid from the corner of the plate as shown in the video my wife couldn't resist shooting! I must come back sometime when it's not Brunch to try some of their traditional Irish dishes!

The coordinator and staff were personable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. They took the time to listen to our ideas and offered thoughtful suggestions on how to make the space work best for our vision. Their experience and attention to detail were invaluable. Honestly, we had planned to "wing it" when it came to the setup, but when we arrived, we were blown away. The entire upstairs area had been beautifully organized with seating, and they had even created an aisle for me to walk down. It was such a special surprise and made the ceremony feel even more meaningful than we had imagined. We specifically chose this venue because we wanted an intimate wedding surrounded by our closest family and friends, and with about 40 guests, the space was absolutely perfect. It felt warm, comfortable, and personal--exactly the atmosphere we were hoping to create. In fact, it exceeded our expectations and was even better than we had imagined. If you're looking for a venue with a wonderful staff, exceptional attention to detail, and a space that feels both intimate and special, we highly recommend this venue. Having heard good things about their Burgers I opted to go with their Classic Cheeseburger and fries for $15 and two of their house margarita's which were the drink of the day on Tuesdays for $5 apiece. Realtive to the burger, it was quite large at 1/2 lb and definately a two hander. It was well made, quite juicy, with fresh veggies and very very tasty. The fries were well made as well with a nice crunchy texture and quite tasty in their own right. Lastly my two Margarita's very well made and oh so good where I had only planned on getting one but opted for two after the first sip. NICE! At $5 a piece this was an absolute steal! Relative to facility and staff, the restaurant is visually very appealing with vibrant Irish accents, neon sign's everywhere and TV's scattered to allow you to watch the big game of the day while enjoying your meal. The decor defiantely adds a lot to the dining experience. Staff was very friendly with great follow up throughout. Overall this is a great bar/restaurant whose reputation is well deserved. They do have a lot of options for the filling here too, like grilled chicken, steak mushroom cheese (my 2nd choice, maybe next time), even grilled vegetable or cod! I am glad I stayed, I was actually in the process of walking out at about 10 pm because, even though the sign says seat yourself, there was no one who acknowledged or approached me at my booth for a good 10 minutes. I finally found the waiter seating a table at the outdoor patio, and I actually went up to him (with an apology for interrupting lol) and asked if he could come find me when he was done because I had been here a while! As my waiter, he was super nice and accomodating, so I don't know why he was not monitoring tables but, that is what I took away a star for. It is a dim sports bar but I like that there are 2 areas, there was live music in the bar area, and a separate quieter area on the other side. Now that the performance is over, the sound for the football game is in the bar area but there is no sound on the giant tv's in this area, which I totally appreciate! Over all I would stop by again if I'm in the area, but ignore the Seat Yourself sign and wander around until you find a server! PS Ummm just paid and the machine auto starts your tip option at 25%, with the other options being 22 and 20, so for a bar where a lot of people might be drunk checking out, that seems very sneaky and manipulative, I did not like that...

We had some craft cocktails- the Pink Lady and the Pink Pedal. Both were tasty but I preferred the refreshing citrus in the pink pedal on a hot day. We ordered a charcuterie board w the whitefish dip for an appetizer and the beet salad and Mediterranean pizza for our meal. The board was just OK. Two types of cheese, two slices each; two types of meat; three slices of those. Honey mustard; jam; raisins and a few corn snacks. Not enough crackers (4) for what we had. The whitefish was already a $4 upcharge; and we asked for extra crackers, it was another $3 charge. Most folks don't eat whitefish dip straight so that was a miss in my opinion. A $24 appetizer is a lot. The beet salad was all arugula and pretty good with a tangy dressing. The pizza did not come with cheese; so that was another upcharge. And its topped with more tangy arugula so that's on us for not realizing how many greens we had ordered. The service was friendly and attentivefor the most part. We had hoped to order their cheesecake but the server got tied up with other tasks outside and we had a fixed time frame so by the time she came back we had to leave. Would I come back? Perhaps to sit at the bar and have some drinks and appetizers. I don't know that I would order meals again. Owners should pay attention to the nickle and diming as it does tarnish the experience. Pizzas by nature should come w cheese even if its optional. If you upcharge for dip on the board pay attention to what the patron might need w that additional item. $3 for some extra crackers to go w the dip is excessive.
