I called Fred and he happened to be in the area on another call, so stopped by within an hour. He was great--professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. The alligator snapping turtles (including the one that got loose) were pets that my mother kept for many years and loved just like her other pets, so it was important to treat them respectful in what was an emotional decision (to finally set them free given mom's quickly declining health and the risk they posed). Fred was able to capture and secure them with ease. In addition, there were two little touches that stood out. After the turtles were secured in containers in his truck and we were talking outside, he pointed out that he was concerned about the heat and made sure to have the AC on for the health of the turtles. Second--he was kind enough to drive deep into a remote area for their release to make sure they were safe from hunters and sent pictures of them in their new home. That meant a lot to my mom who who loved those turtles like all of her other creatures and "children"--it gave her some sunshine and relief during a very tough time to know her babies were happy, safe from hunters, and enjoying their natural habitat. As a bonus, Fred also has a home repair contracting business which is also excellent and whose services we have started using (A+ Contracting by Penton).

The day before we checked since hadn't heard from anyone and had made arrangements for someone to be home between 8 and 12. Now online shows Aug2026 with NO DATE OR TIME LISTED. Called spoke to someone with their appointment dept. / secretary, who informed that the appt. was now Aug. 30th between 8 and 12. (mind you we paid in May2026) NO Calls to notify date change. We are STUCK with them until we can save up enough to pay to change companies since EVERYONE charges at minimum $1200 for new service contract. It is obvious JayRoy knows most can't afford to just change companies hence they have done nothing to fix there poor service tactics. (Terminex & Jay-Roy seem to work out of the Same location in Baton Rouge Although Rentokil now owns Jay-Roy without changing name) -- We would not recommend this company to anyone and are tired of the stress of annually having to pay in advance before they will even consider putting on their appointment calendar and then MONTHS later they finally get to you after repeated calls and inquiries of when service will be performed. So I called around and other companies wanted a ridiculous amount of money, but LA Wild was incredibly reasonably priced for the job they would be doing versus some flat fee of "inspection + removal" They were very prompt and responsive and friendly. It was replaced with fresh bait, but I question if that was all they should do ? Doesn't an empty canister indicate termite activity ? My house is raised and underneath is easily accessed. Should not a visual inspection of under the house in the area of the empty canister been done ? I feel it should be done. Apparently LaJaunie's inspection procedures don't require actually looking for infestation. A visual inspection would have given them a GREAT rating instead of a 2. Guess I'll get under the house and do the visual inspection myself.
