Last week, I went to a different vet for the first time in 8 years. It made a world of difference. It was half the price. It was 4 minutes down Tchoupitoulas from East Riverside, and they don't try to drug your pet for their own convenience due to their own incompetence. Last visit to East Riverside, my cat and I waited for 45 minutes before seeing the vet. I had to go out and ask if they forgot about us. They had. Obviously my cat was anxious about being in the vets office waiting for almost an hour. Understandably she was irritated, confused, and didn't want to be there any longer. This literal vet had seen my cat 2 times before, a different vet there had seen her multiple times before that, and she had been spayed there. Obviously there were records of my cat. Nothing stating she was aggressive or needed to be medicated to be seen. Because she did not, and does not. This vet had the nerve to : 1. Not apologize for having us wait while she ate her lunch after forgetting about us. 2. Call for the 1st assistant to put my cat down, go find a different assistant to replace him because "they can tell when someone's a dog person or a cat person." A different person wasn't even available, the 1st person returned, and the vet was being annoying towards that assistant. Talking down to him, almost. 3. Inquire as to whether or not my cat is "bad at the vet," even though her entire 2 years of life of vet visits is, presumably, listed on the chart pulled up on the computer. 4. Prescribe a light sedative for me to "give her before you bring her in next time." Absolutely not. Over 8 years I have brought 5 pets here. The pricing is insane. The cost of the vet down the road was a fraction of the price of East Riverside. They even have some of their old vets working there. Do yourself, your pet, and your wallet a favor and go somewhere else. Literally anywhere else. East Riverside is the most expensive vet in New Orleans.

They did not disclose this before purchase. After I noticed and brought it back for a refund they were unapologetic and said that it happens sometimes when they come off of the truck. I asked for a new one without a hole, since that's what I stupidly assumed I was getting the first time, and they said they didn't have any. My best guess is that this was the last bag, and instead of informing me of the defect, they decided to deceive me and make a quick buck. I believe it is unethical for them to sell opened food under the guise that it is new and unopened. I received a refund with no issues, but I no longer trust them and will be seeking veterinary care for my cat elsewhere.

Time and time again, CCV staff has proved to us that they really are the best in all departments. We use CCV for everything dog related; one of my pups is reactive to a lot of things (like, a LOT), and dealing with him is a very steep learning curve. Let's start with Dr. Marisa Muniak; after our primary vet left CCV, we were switched over to her care. Instead of being apprehensive about caring for my fearful and sometimes aggressive boy and passing him off to other vets, she jumped in head first, thinking outside the box, even went so far out of her way as to bring him into the play yard for his exam and routine vaccines so he'd be more at ease. Always willing to help, she has personally called me to ease my mind about some concerns I've had for my boy's health rather than having a tech call and relay the message. I don't think anything I say about her can fully give her the credit she deserves. All the techs and support staff (like Christina, Skip, all the kennel staff, etc.) are WONDERFUL and go out of their way to make sure I know that my pups are doing well in their care. Speaking of Kennel, Jamani (Kennel manager) is the BEST. My usually fearful, reactive baby wiggles his whole body in excitement every time he sees Jamani, and I think that reaction speaks for itself. We have had a few hiccups with my dog at boarding with CCV, and each time, Jamani went out of his way to make sure he learned something about how to best deal with him and his... quirks. Even if you can't do that, the wait times are not long. We live in Philadelphia and come South half the year to visit our daughter. Our dog is a 14 year old rescue who seems to have a lot of skin and other health issues like arthritis. Each time we bring her to Expressway, her issues are resolved and we are given good meds that help the condition to go away. Dr. Louviere and his staff are so knowledgeable about animal problems. So fortunate to have a place like this. The prices are beyond reasonable. We are used to veterinary offices that are owned by private equity companies that seem to want you to get a multitude of unnecessary tests.
