The place is a dump. My daughter said that the bus she was on that came from western PA had a guy sleeping on the floor in the aisle taking up the back half of the bus. Driver left guy sleeping there the whole drive to Harrisburg. She mentioned there wasn't any WiFi either. The station itself needs some serious maintenance. The bathrooms smell awful and the woman's bathroom is dark. The men's bathroom is completely shut down. The outside waiting area has many no smoking signs but people still smoke. Looks like the employees just want to get their shift over with. On the bright side the bus back to western PA was clean, newer, had WiFi, and nobody sleeping in the aisle read more

Don't do it. If you have the option take an Amtrak train instead! My daughter was scheduled to take a bus from Harrisburg to Washington DC Thurs morning. I got up at 2 am to take her to the bus station. We arrived at 3am. Her bus was supposed to depart at 3:50 am. We waited until 5:30 am. The bus never arrived. Customer service was of absolutely no help and couldn't even tell us if the bus was still planning to arrive. Customer service also refused to issue a refund. Horrible experience. read more

This place is my worst nightmare. Absolutely filthy inside and the security of the place is frightening. There are people coming in and out that clearly aren't here to take a bus ride...loitering and asking for money. AVOID the bathroom if you can. They look like they haven't been touched in ages. The whole facility smells like a dumpster. None of the outlets work so hopefully your electronics are charged. And don't bother buying a ticket anything more than the general price because they do not consider it. I had priority boarding - if it wasn't for me jumping in line early I wouldn't have had that privilege. read more

I don't think in my entire life I have ever come across a company with as poor customer service as Greyhound bus lines. First, to purchase ticket online there is a caveat somehow believing that you are purchasing for another person and the ticket price is almost double should you choose to do it online. Alternatively, you can go through the inconvenience of going to pay for your ticket (at the normal price) at some local store such as seven eleven. If that is not inconvenient enough, you have to pick up your ticket at least 2 hours in advance of your travel. I've already paid for the ticket, why should I have to pick it up 2 hours before my trip? So you have to make a separate trip down to the bus station and pick up your ticket then hang around for 2 hours waiting to take your trip. It's almost as if they are trying to drive away business. Enough said, if there was any other alternative than Greyhound I would take it. read more

I checked in- told the driver I had one more bag... he said " the bus leaves at 12:30".... then he drove so slowly the bus was 90 minutes late arriving in Columbus.... no WiFi.. no apologies... electric outlets are not working either... Like everyone else, if it is possible to rate it 0 or negative, i would do that w/o any hesitation. For my business trips greyhound is the only ground transportation that will get me to where i need to be other than uber and pay $1000 bucks. However, out of my 27 rides up to today, i have had less than 5 times where the bus is on time. Waiting for an hour or two is normal. Broken bus that smell like poop is normal. Never an apology is normal. I never got a refund for one that i requested cuz it was 4 hours late. From time to time i end up calling for an uber. It is great to see i pay $120 and this is the quality of service i receive. The staff never update us until its like 5 hours later. Their door is broken at the station so it slams all the time. The Employee at the terminal in Harrisburg was less than helpful. It all started with my friend asking about a ticket to Pittsburgh leaving in 2 weeks. Knowing that there are some that go more direct and some that go the scenic route he wanted the more direct bus. The employee behind the glass kept screaming at my friend saying it isn't his damn job to decide when the passenger is leaving. Then my friend explained that he was moving and would have 2 pieces of luggage and about 6 boxes. The employee angrily stated that you can only have 1 bag for free a 2nd for $15. What about his other boxes? Nothing we can do about them. Ultimately we chose not to purchase the tickets and I would head to the York PA terminal in the morning since it is right around the corner from my house. I will never again deal with buying tickets at Harrisburg. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would!! Horrible service. I was misguided by a very confused and inconsiderate staff. Missing my bus was made out to be the WORST 4 hours of my life. Once I was apologized to the other 10 people that were misguided and left behind were very upset and staff did little to help. One woman came in calling another girl and I "thing" and threw the Bible and crosses around. Once the bus came, we had to wait 30 mins for the driver to chat with his buddy. About 10 minutes in the air conditioning breaks and absolutely NO AIR flow. Never riding again! I don't recommend you do either. I missed my meeting btw! read more

If could rate negative stars I would. You get what you pay for. Dirty buses with broken seats, vents, and smashed plastic ceilings. Was to get a refund on a ticket, never got it. Seats that vibrate and make noises that would drive anyone crazy. I have been in trash trucks that where in better shape. Take the train. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Departure time to Pittsburgh WAS 6:10PM. It is now 8:10PM. Asked the man behind the counter and he has no idea what to tell us. Called customer service 4 times. No help there either. They said to coordinate with the station attendant. So who knows if a bus is even on it's way at this point. Have a stop over in Pittsburg before needing to board the next bus but that bus is on time so now I will also not be able to continue my trip after this bus decides to show up. Horribly ran company. Horrible customer service. No reliability. Worst experience of my life. Never again will I use Greyhound and I will until I die tell everyone I encounter in life how disgusting and horrible this company is. read more

Greyhound is a horrible business, if i could rate it less than 1 star, I would. I have never taken a bus that has departed or arrived at the scheduled time. On a trip today the first bus I took arrived at the connection point 30 minutes late, causing me and multiple other customers to miss the connecting bus. Even though I called, Greyhound refused to hold the other bus for 10 minutes so that we could make it. The next bus does not come for another two hours. This company does not care about customer service. I was told my only option was to wait for the bus and that I would not receive a refund. I will never take a Greyhound bus again. read more

I missed my bus in Boston at 1:00 AM. As the greyhound ticket counter dint have a credit card machine. wasted all my time there. But the lady in the counter was really sweet she helped me catch another bus from NYC to Harrisburg. In this travel time, bus halts in Philly and the driver switches there. This stupid driver got no sense and doesnt know how to speak. May be mama dint teach him. It was raining early in the morning and I had big bag to carry before the stop I just went and asked is there any possibility to stop the bus half mile ahead the stop because my house is just there. He would have said no miss greyhound stops only at the bus stations. But no he kept a weird face and said no i cant. Like what you mean is that your bus , you just a driver I paid you money for it. Not asking for a free ride. And also worrying about how to get home, in that moving bus I accidentally sat on the drivers bag in the front sit. so he say me, get off my bag. I said sorry and went back to my seat. Dude showed his low standards there. This is my first trip with greyhound. I do not know about the company this driver is really spoiling the company name. For all of the unsuspecting parents that just drop off your child at the Harrisburg bus terminal expecting that your child has a seat on a bus to Pittsburgh please read this review. On Monday, 10/17/16 hundreds of students arrived at 1:30 Pm with purchased online tickets for a 2 pm bus departure. One woman was working the entire Harrisburg terminal and she had to process hundreds of kids & try to find more drivers & buses to handle the overbooking of this bus trip . We all had to wait on line a minimum of one hour to check in. There were not enough buses or drivers scheduled to handle this crowd even though the company knew well in advance the amount of seats booked and accepted money for tickets. The one woman at the terminal was processing kids & calling to get extra buses to handle the crowd. The terminal employee blamed corporate headquarters, corporate headquarters blamed the terminal & the bus drivers know nothing. All of the Parents that remained at the bus terminal were calling headquarters and being told that they missed the 2PM departure and the next bus left at 10:55 PM. I left my home at 11:30 AM & arrived at Harrisburg station at 1:25 PM, waited in line until 2:35 PM to check in, waited until 3:40 PM when the woman behind the glass made an announcement that she called Philadelphia to find out where the bus was and it broke down & they were sending another bus which was going to take 2.5 hours to get to Harrisburg. There was One Bus for all of the kids that were left behind for the 2PM departure. I decided to drive my daughter and 2 other children to Pittsburgh and then I drove all of the way home. I arrived back at my home at 1:30 AM. I was not the only parent that volunteered to drive their child directly to the college. It was a complete disgrace how this company planned for this trip.
