It was handed down to my husband from his parents, who received it from their church in Mexico before they left for the US. He was very professional, but more importantly, he was very personable and it felt like working with an old friend! I read a recent review on here that mentioned the shop was "completely locked and closed on 11/24." My appointment to see Jeff was that same day and I had no problems at all. Being that there's a pandemic and it's a relatively small shop, you do have to give Jeff a call when you arrive outside, and there's a sign on the building that clearly says that with his number. Personally, I appreciated this, and that Jeff is doing everything to keep his customers safe. Not sure why that would be upsetting to someone - but I'm all about that level of precaution. They helped me select the perfect mat to blend with the old cloth and faded colors, and then custom mixed a color and hand painted the mat bevel to highlight the piece even more. They made sure the glass was UV-filter since it would be in a bright room. I smiled when a friend saw it hanging in my living room and said, "What a beautiful piece! Is it new?" Such a difference... Now I understand why they also frame for museums and serious collectors. All in all, a wonderful experience with knowledgeable and friendly people that I hope to have again when I need framing.

I had a piece of art that needed to make it from NY to Chicago. Smaller pieces had made it back in…read moremy suitcase separated by padding and cardboard but this one was too large to fit in a suitcase. I had been advised over the phone by another frame shop to have a custom wooden crate made for shipping. The art has some value but that seemed like overkill. I called San Art Framing and they said they could pack it safely in a inner box enclosed in an outer box with appropriate padding. Conveniently, the framing has plexiglass rather than glass so that issue didn't have to be dealt with. I brought the piece in. San Art packed it and had it ready the next day. UPS delivered it and all is well. San Art Framing knows what they are doing and they got the job done.
