I don't mind but my son is allergic to dogs and it could start up his allergies which I then would mind. Also we set up a blanket on the grass and this grass has the tiny spikey balls in the grass so that was an inconvenience trying to clean that off. But overall, the park is clean, the other kids and parents are friendly and there isn't anyone here who isn't supposed to be which is nice.

There's slight incline if you plan to do some walking but there is some paved paths where I did see folks walking around. There are poop along the path and also on the grass. This is wonderful park to have in the neighborhood. Wished I lived a bit closer and wished we came prepared with a picnic blanket. Very relaxing and enjoyable. There is limited parking in the parking lot, but you can also park on the curb. Just check out the street parking times. There are city parking times where you're not to park there, unless collecting parking tickets is your thing.

Butterfield Park includes baseball fields, softball fields, and open grass areas for soccer. On the far corner of the park is the dog park. It is a pretty decent size for the doggos. There is a smaller area that is sectioned off for the smaller pups. Honestly when I brought my little Pomeranian here, she loved it. Lots of things to sniff and places to dig holes lol She had fun rolling around in the grass. I don't remember having an issues with dog poop on the ground or anything like that. And no complaints from my dog lol She seemed happy and had fun. I like that they have the separate area for the smaller dogs. That is needed. Overall this is a great park for the fur-baby's to have fun safely. And I definitely appreciate all the trees and shade around so you don't get burned while watching your furry friend run around and play! There are water fountains around the park too.

The reviews and pictures on this park caught my eye. It was more than I had hoped for especially because I've given up hiking to train my dog and lately I've been missing my hikes. This park gave me a bit of what I have been missing. Peaceful surroundings, trees, a dirt path, space, and minimal distractions. The pup and I got to play and train and we both left feeling super satisfied. I did notice a small blue tent in the park. Not sure if it was occupied. I wasn't too concerned because I had my dog. A discarded syringe cap was also found near a bench. Otherwise, the park was well-manicured, clean, and serene. I look forward to returning!

One side for small dogs below 25lb and the other side for large dogs 25lb and above or 18 inches tall I believe. Around the dog park is also a play ground to the corner, there are also some public restrooms, and a large patch of grass area. There are plenty of poop bags around the park and lots of parking spaces both in the lot and on the street. After the dog park, I took my pup for a run around the neighborhood and there was a trail nearby but it got dark so I didn't explore it too much. Nicely paved roads all around the area if you want to take a stroll. The area is overall quiet and clean. The dog park gets pretty empty once the sun sets because there's not much light at the park and it gets a bit chilly so try to come before then. I came here at least 3 times and of all those times, this place is packed with lovely fur babies! Overall, great dog park.

Initially, I was hesitant about taking our pugs to a dog park, but I mellowed out after the first visit. We had zero issues on this visit, and it seemed people were good about controlling their dogs and picking up after them. Our pups had a blast running around and playing with the other dogs. On a second visit, a male arrived with a dog and walking it on-leash. At first, I wondered why the dog was on a leash because the rules indicate the dogs need to be off-leash. Several minutes later, the male removed the leash, and the dog began to charge other dogs including ours. Since the male had the dog on a leash, the male clearly knew his dog was aggressive. After making immediate suggestions to the male to secure his dog, there were no further problems. However, it was somewhat traumatic for one of our pugs that was attacked. Just a reminder that some dogs, regardless of size with irresponsible owners, can be aggressive.

My dogs and I have been walking at River Walk Park for the past 15 years. They have a wonderful…read moretrail that has really expanded over the past 10 years. You can now walk from Eastvale Community Park at Hamner through River Walk Park and down to Archibald, a total round trip of 5.2 miles. Unfortunately, there has been so many kids out there racing E-bikes during the past year it is getting increasingly difficult to safely take a walk with my dog along this trail. Recently JCSD has put up 20 miles per hour speed limit signs that say yield to pedestrians and some mirrors to help see around sharp turns. 20 mile per hour speed limit might be an okay speed limit on the straight parts of the trail, but 20 miles per hour isn't at all safe around the sharp turns. I have had to jump in the bushes and pull my dog off the trail several times from E-bikes racing around a curve in the trail.
