On one of my many visits to Grain and Berry I noticed Grill Fresh next door and decided to stop in. I was surprised how clean looking the inside of this restaurant is. The line moves like chiptole. Customers pick a base, veggies, protein and sauce to create a bowl of their liking. All meat served is antibiotic free and they have vegetarian and vegan options available. On my visit I chose the pick five for $8.50 with tax (a really good price for a base, two veggies a protein and sauce). I chose spicy brown rice, sweet potato, sauteed garlic mushrooms, pesto and lime chicken and spicy mayo. I noticed on the line, items were sitting in various metal containers and not displayed as well as they could be. I kept looking at the signs above to choose what I wanted rather than the food in front of me. Food items were kind of pushed together and not separated well. The food was good nothing tasted like it had been sitting out. However, I didn't notice any specialty items available to cook upon request nor was anything replaced while I was in line. Grill Fresh has a few tables inside but also has a really nice outside space. A deck is available with two and four person tables and then an outside garden has picnic tables and overhead lighting for guests to enjoy. This is where I think they beat their competition. Another restaurant called The Fresh Grill in Port Richey has the same concept but it's dull inside and has no outside seating. Grill Fresh also offers specialty sodas and some limited desserts. read more

I love having this spot right around the corner from me. If you have ever been to fresh kitchen in Tampa, it's the same thing. Walk down the line and choose your toppings. I always get the six bowl: 2 bases, 2 veggies, 2 protein and sauce. The staff is friendly, the restraint is very clean, and there's even outdoor seating with cute herb plants. The portion sizes here are pretty large. I haven't been able to finish an entire bowl yet and I've been here a few times since they opened. They have tons of options for whatever diet you eat. My only complaint would be that the veggies are very bland. The proteins are all really good, as well as the bases. I just don't love the veggies. read more

We were excited to try this restaurant, because I'm Gluten free and thought it would be right up my alley. Although, we thought it was a "sit down restaurant," it's more like a Chipotle set up, with some tables. Although, they had plenty of signs to order your food from, you pick different premade food, according to how many items you want of each category. It's extremely confusing and many customers were having trouble figuring it out. I had pork, cold couscous couscous, Asian noodles and zucchini. The pork didn't have any seasoning, the couscous couscous was bland, Asian noodles were so salty that I couldn't eat it. Zucchini was soggy and inedible. A woman, at the next table, asked if we thought the food was super salty. We agreed. She'd taken her Vegan friends there and was so excited to offer her friends this option. Nobody was happy with the Vegan options, though, or how they were prepared. I paid with credit card and was prompted to tip, but thought I'd wait and put it in their tip jar, later. Although, I asked for a credit card receipt, I didn't get one. The front of house is so important. Although, there were complaints about the taste issues, they fell on deaf ears. Blank stares. I really wanted to love this place. I came in by a huge recommendation from my friends. He said it was very somewhere. However, I'm not entirely sure just how fresh. There were some selections that seemed wonderful and I was really vying for a Poké bowl. They advertise that they have them so I was surprised to not find any white rice as an option. Or even just brown rice. It's spicy brown rice but that didn't seem something that was going to sit well. Idly enough I didn't get anything close to a Poké bowl that I thought I would have. On the website it states that they have different toppings like waka me but they did not. I had lettuce cauliflower rice mushrooms tuna and spicy mayo. I'm not entirely sure how fresh that I hate you was but I got sick later that night. So not entirely sure I'm going back. Maybe I'll try again another day. Hello, My family is Italian and very picky about the quality of their food. I decided to go to Grill Fresh for our dinner tonight. Josh approached me with a friendly smile and asked how could he help me. I asked if the grilled chicken was fresh and he did not hesitate to make sure I was happy, so he made it fresh for me. I ordered two dinners with double portions of grilled chicken and vegetables. I asked his option for my plate and Josh suggested the bar-b-que chicken so I went with his suggestion. My family loved it and so did I. The food was juicy and yummy. Josh treated me like gold and I hope that upper management shakes his hand because he is a keeper. First visit. The teenager (maybe a little older) serving food was not friendly. She just stood there and didn't help when I was trying to determine what the items were. Food: Warm Asian Noodles - they were good, but barely warm. Teriyaki Chicken - dried out and hard, didn't eat it Sweet Potatoes - they were good Mushrooms - my favorite part Sesame Green Beans - a little more done than I like and didn't taste any sesame, but they were decent We ordered Stubborn Fountain drinks (which we've had many other places) and they were awful. They were flat and tasted watered down. Lemonade tasted watered down as well. I told the same girl and she looked at me and said "okay." and walked away. Our first visit exceeded all expectations- awesome friendly, helpful staff described all menu items and ingredients (some additional items to Fresh Kitchen). I love having a place to go that's tasty AND healthy. I don't feel so guilty after dining here. The name says it all - everything always tastes fresh. Even when I ordered an online pick-up order, the portions were great and packaged nicely. Grill Fresh has the nicest staff I have ever encountered. This restaurant is also very clean. Being only a few minutes from home it could be dangerous! Love this place and their friendly employees. Tried this place out for the first time last night with my family and we all loved it. Friendly staff, social distancing enforced, staff wore masks and gloves, kept very clean and tidy, great food options (like a local Fresh Kitchen), nice outdoor patio on both sides of the restaurant with generous seating and plants everywhere. I enjoy their farm-to-table approach and the fact that everything they serve is gluten free - I have some friends who can't consume gluten and will definitely be showing them this place in the future. Veggies and sauces were tasty, everything was, and I really enjoyed their drink selection as well. Everything seemed fresh and they even provided watermelon with our meals! Imagine being an owner of a restaurant and being so cheap that you take away your water tap for your customers. At $20 for a bowl of average mediocre food (food was cold and rice wasn't fully cooked), you'd think I'd at least be able to get a cup of water. The response... oh we've had people steal our fountain drinks. Probably losing a maximum of $5 in profit each month if that. This isn't the type of company I want to support. Really stingy... I loved this place! Went for lunch and ordered to go, the staff was very patient with all my questions. I normally can't do many places like this because I am allergic to gluten, eggs, nuts, and dairy. I can say I had no worries what so ever. Everything is Gluten Free and the menu has indicators for what has dairy and so forth. There is so many options to choose from. I am embarrassed to admit that I don't like trying new things, so I asked for a tiny little bit sized sample of a few of the questionable bases because I was scared to commit to a whole serving. The forbidden rice was really good and so were the gf noodles (the ones I was nervous about)! The protein also has vegan options to choose from. I got a 6 bowl, which means 6 things, and couldn't finish half of the food. So be aware that the portions are really big. I also loved the tea selection. I am a tea drinker and the place had a variety of flavored black teas. I am mostly a green tea drinker but do like black tea too. The pineapple black tea was delicious! read more

This place was really good. The food has great flavor. I just have a few notes as to why only 3 stars. First when you walk up to the food none of it is labeled and it's hard to tell what is what. They have the bases, proteins and veggies all mixed so I noticed something I would have liked as one of my bases but be bad already moved on to my next category. The food was almost warm but going on cold which makes me just a little nervous. When I got to the end I noticed their sign said they had fresh squeezed juices so I ordered a Watermelon juice. Come to realize it's just watermelon tea and not sure where the juice was. They could do better on their labeling and the temperature of their foods. Grill Fresh is back! I used to always eat at their Gainesville location, and I'm so glad they moved to a city near my hometown. I feel like they have improved since they reopened in Palm Harbor. I always got the ahi tuna in Gainesville and now they have a Spicy Ahi Tuna and Sesame Ahi Tuna option! Everything tasted fresh, and the bowls are a good size (I got the five bowl). If you get the Asian noodles as a base, I suggest getting the warm ones as opposed to the chilled. The chilled noodles are a little hard compared to the warm ones which are perfect. Bowl style restaurants seem to be the latest trend am I am totally down. Some do it better than others and this isn't one of them. The staff is really friendly and helpful but the food is okay. The setup is like chipotle where you go through a line and pick what you want. There is a decent amount of selections but I would like to see a few more suck as cauliflower rice, spring mix, grilled onions and peppers, avocado and such. The quality is ok.
