    a receipt for a restaurant

Nice neighborhood spot with outdoor seating. The falafel in pita sandwich is delicious, if not messy. They should definitely wrap the sandwich in foil. They give you a plate of pickles, red and white cabbage and pickled cauliflower gratis which we appreciated. Their white bean soup is delicious. The waitstaff is friendly. They add the tip to the bill which we like. Nice spot when in the area for a casual meal.

First time I went here, it was near the height of the pandemic (when you had to cross the LI border just to get outdoor dining). Food was good, as was the service. Almost a year later, things seem to have taken a turn. My Schnitzel Burger and fries were fine, but my girlfriend's chicken was dry. I also don't remember them charging a credit card fee (I get why restaurants do this, but it's still irritating and counter-productive in the longterm.) The most galling thing though was that this restaurant helped THEMSELVES to a 15% gratuity! In all my years, I've never seen a business charge an automatic tip. I think I would've been well within my right to complain, but I didn't want to make a scene or appear cheap. Also, business owners: Please stop playing Fox News on your TVs; unless you want to alienate a huge chunk of your customer base. Thank you.

My wife and I took my daughter out for her birthday. My daughter is kosher and choose to go to Grill Time. I have to start by saying I am not a big kosher food fan. I had the grilled marinated chicken breast which came with french fries and grilled vegetables. We received fast friendly service and the food was ok not great. I always find kosher food in general to be much more expensive. Grill time was no exception i found it on the expensive side. If you are looking for a kosher restaurant in the great neck area i do recomend Grill Time. The service was good and servers friendly.

Shawarma with side of Israeli salad and grilled vegetables

I have been here a few times. I always get the shawarma with grilled vegetables. The shawarma is good. The vegetables could be seasoned better. For the price I wish they added pita and hummus. Once I ordered the salad platter with a few different salads. The hummus is good. The service is okay, many of the waiters are not very friendly and patient. They do not deliver.

I came here with a friend of mine and his father for dinner when visiting them in Great Neck. I was told this is the place to go if you want to try kosher Israeli food. The food was fantastic. I got the baby chicken shawarma with fries and a side of extra hummus. The hummus was phenomenal. We got a couple appetizers to share for the table, including red cabbage doused in a mayo/yogurt sauce. The quality is excellent, and it should be considering the prices are astronomical. If you eat kosher food, you're used to this. If you don't, you have now been warned. Excellent service and ambience.

The place is absolutely PACKED on sunday nights. That being said, they are really quick with bringing water, bread and pickles, and taking the order. The portions are big, food is well seasoned, and tastes fresh. The only problem is that the place gets really loud, but you can't really do anything about it.

I believe the menu is kosher too, in terms of dietary considerations. The baba ghanoush was excellent, it had a rich texture and a slightly sweet aftertaste that was very unique. I ate it with the veggies served alongside, as well as some rice later on in the meal, but honestly could have wolfed it down on its own. And then for mains, I had the fesenjun, a sweet stew with chunks of marinated chicken, served with a plate of rice. It was out of this world, with a thick consistency and lots of meat throughout. If you're up for a classic Persian dish and feel adventurous to try a sweet stew, I strongly recommend the fesenjun. And then throughout the meal, they kept bringing complimentary dishes that were outstanding. From the tahdig with ghormeh sabzeh on top, to the plate of hummus, to the fruit that came with our teas for dessert, all such a nice touch! Colbeh is excellent, come hungry and you'll be very pleased.

Every single dish was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It was so good that we ended up doubling down and ordering another round of hummus plus two orders of chicken chop kebab to take home for dinner. That alone says everything. Each entrée came with rice and a side salad, which rounded things out perfectly. You can tell there's real attention to quality here--the chef clearly knows what they're doing, and we were told they only use premium-grade ingredients, never select. All the baking is done in-house, which shows in the freshness of the bread. What really stands out is how the food manages to be both incredibly delicious and genuinely healthy. Lots of olive oil, grilled preparations, minimal saturated fat, and great sources of omega-3s like the salmon--it's the kind of place you can eat at regularly without feeling like you're overindulging. The staff were just as impressive--attentive without being overbearing, checking in often and making sure everything was right. Honestly, if eating like this all the time is an option, it feels like a solid strategy for living long and well.

We had sigara borek and hummus as appetizers, and the hummus in particular was so fresh and flavorful - definitely the best hummus I have ever had. We ordered a couple of entrees and unfortunately the wrong food came out. We didn't initially realize and thought they had put out two meals on the platter (and they were just small portions) and included some extras as well, until our waiter came over a few minutes later and apologized. Unfortunately, because we received the mixed grill instead of our two chicken entrees, the solution of charging us the price for the mixed instead of our two meals only took roughly $10 off the bill but resulted in us having less than half of the food we otherwise would've had. That aside, the food was delicious enough that Kebab House still warrants five stars and we will be back, just more aware of what to expect as far as portions.

It's become a reliable stop whenever you're craving authentic Persian food done well. One thing I've always appreciated here is the little touches. The warm bread they bring out is wonderful, and if you know to ask, they'll sometimes bring lentils as well -- a comforting start to the meal that feels very traditional. The meats are always fresh and beautifully seasoned, which is exactly what you hope for when ordering Persian kebabs. They recently renovated the Roslyn Heights location, and the space now feels very modern and polished. It's definitely an upgrade visually. That said, the dining room is a bit on the smaller side, and the tables sit fairly close together -- close enough that you might hear your neighbor's conversation. The Huntington location has a more relaxed, family-style Persian feel, while Roslyn feels more contemporary. Service has always been thoughtful. During our visit, we accidentally dropped a fork and the staff immediately replaced it without hesitation. Small gestures like that go a long way. What also makes Ravagh special is its place in the Roslyn Heights community. Located in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood on Long Island, it's nice to see a restaurant serving authentic halal Persian cuisine and welcoming such a diverse crowd. It adds something meaningful to the local dining scene. The spices and flavors are always the highlight. Desserts could perhaps be elevated a bit more, but the overall experience -- from the kebabs to the hospitality -- keeps people coming back. A lovely dinner spot on Long Island that continues to represent Persian cuisine with consistency and care.
