Upon arrival we sat wherever we wanted because they don't have a hostess and plus for the 12 tables, they only had three parties sitting. We were provided menu promptly and then when asking several questions the waitress did not know the menu. I asked about the Greek lemon soup and she didn't even know what it was! I ordered it all anyway with anticipation, that it would be a wonderful lemon soup with rice and chicken. I guess they were out of rice since there was no rice in the soup but there was rice on my dinner plate I guess they didn't realize Greek lemon soup has rice in it. I next ordered the lamb souvlaki and it was a bit chewy but flavorful and not overly cooked which satisfied me. My partner had the traditional Gyro and we were also pleased that the meat was not over cooked. Now for the real problem three cooks in the kitchen with 10 people in the restaurant took us over 40 minutes to get our dinner I could've made it myself or went to their other location and brought it back. It seemed that the kitchen was dysfunctional since they had to ring a bell that the food was ready since the waitress was standing their waiting for the food. It appears they only can turn out one meal at a time. Because of this we did not even order dessert coffee as we thought it would just overwhelm the staff and take another half hour. We do appreciate that the business did provide a 10% discount coupon on Yelp. All in all it was an average dinner when we held out hope because we passed their other location in Albertson to come to the Port Washington location because they had more seats. read more

Came here today for takeout lunch with my girlfriend. We ordered some chicken gyros and beef gyros. We also decided to get some fries, which complimented our gyros really well. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly and gave us some fruit lemonade drinks that were made with fresh fruit. I am new to the town of Port Washington and enjoyed the food from this restaurant! I will definitely be back to try more. been ordering lunch from yummy gyro for almost two years now and its usually great. however in the last 6 months ive noticed a continuous decline in quality of food and service from this location. from smaller portions to missing side items like drinks or dressings, but nothing major. this specific instance was the last time ill ever order from here again. i had started eating my $17 kronos wrap when i noticed it was missing pivotal ingredients so i called just to ask if the menu changed the item since the wrap tasted good, just not what i ordered or expected. i know the customer isnt always right so i just wanted to clear up if the wrap was just wrong on the online menu. i explained to the girl answering the phone that i had started eating the first half of the wrap and had cut open both sides to see if the missing ingredients were just sloppily shoved in the bottom or something. she went to ask the manager who apparently made it and he claimed to have made it himself and there was no way it was incorrect. i guess either he made the wrong wrap or doesnt know his own menu. so i said well the wrap is in my face and theres no jalapeños or spicy mayo on either side. at that point, i kind of just expected to be offered store credit or a coupon on my next order but the girl told me she'd just have it remade for me and that they'll take the wrong wrap back. this was strange to me why a restaurant would want to bring a half eaten meal back to their restaurant which seemed unsanitary and gross to me, but maybe its their protocol. again i emphasize i clearly told the girl i had started eating the meal before i discovered it was wrong. 30 minutes later i get it redelivered and i trade in the first half eaten wrap for the new one which looks correct. 15 minutes later i get a call from the restaurant harassing me about the wrap being half eaten--which i had told the girl multiple times i had started eating the first half and how i cut open both sides, so i was confused why its a problem now. it seemed scammy to me. turns out, the manager was gonna make the girl to pay for the wrap which is wrong since the manager was the one who made it wrong in the first place and it wasnt her fault. she did everything right--the manager should be the one paying for it then if thats the case. in another review a year ago, a customer complained about a smaller portion size wrap and was offered a complimentary wrap and an apology, so perhaps theres been a change in management. i feel bad for the staff if this is the kind of manager who will do wrong and still blame/punish the staff instead of having good business practice and human decency. if they read this review i hope they do the right thing. honestly after the experience i lost my appetite for the meal. i dont recommend this place if you expect good customer service and consistent quality, the most important things to a restaurant. read more

So this place is the bomb diggity! I've never been in person; I've just gotten delivery from here. I got the protein salad and it was so so good. All of the veggies were fresh and it was perfectly dressed with a tangy dressing. I've also had the falafel from here, which was excellent as well. The two times that I've gotten the falafel, the fries have varied from steak fries to seasoned fries. I would really prefer some consistency in the future regarding that.
