We got this place recommended to us by the groom at a wedding we were attending in St. Augustine, so we knew we had to check it out. The shop itself is pretty small inside, but they were smart about putting a big menu on the outside so you can figure out what you want before you even walk in and hold up the line. Appreciated that. And the menu really is vast. There's genuinely something for every kind of palette, which made it exciting but also made it really hard to choose. My mom and I both went with the Country Boy sandwich, which had mac and cheese and BBQ pulled pork on it. A combination made in heaven. The flavor was good and I enjoyed it, but I kept wishing there was more pulled pork in there to really make it feel worth the $15. You don't get to customize your sandwich bread (as far as I'm aware). One of us in our group got a sandwich that came with pumpernickel bread, but she wasn't a fan of that bread, so she didn't enjoy her sandwich as much. The tomato soup was a letdown too. It tasted more like watered down tomato sauce and there wasn't much of it to begin with. We got everything to-go and the total came out to $90 for 5 sandwiches, two of which didn't even have mac and cheese on them. At the end of the day I did enjoy my sandwich, but it wasn't a full meal and the price didn't really reflect what you get. A fun spot to try at least once, but probably not something we'd rush back to. It also took a while for the food to come out.
I got the country boy, a Mac-and-cheese sandwich with pulled pork, bbq sauce, and the side cup of tomato basil soup. Absolutely delicious. The Mac and cheese was nice, warm, and gooey, and everything about the sandwich paired perfectly together. Service was quick and easy, a convenient walk-up-and-order, and while it is a small storefront, there's a decent selection of tables to sit and eat at. The art on the wall was a lot of fun to look at, and overall, really cute!! Would absolutely recommend if a fan of classic, delicious grilled cheese.
Food was so yummy and being celiac it was amazing they had a dedicated fryer just for the fries. Highly recommend for my celiac people!
I have never in my lifetime tried such scrumptious grilled cheese like these. I want to go back and try everything in the menu ! The service was fast and amazing. The ambiance was fun and upbeat. I think this place is a gem.
This is an amazing place, it didnt disappoint. My brother talked it so he had to bring me there while I was visiting. Really cool grilled cheese menu, some even had Mac n cheese in them. I got the Queen Brie, bacon& brie on sourdough,raspberry puree for dipping and balsamic drizzle, Holy MOTHER OF YUM. The little "cup" of the beat tomato soup also for dipping purposes. They bring it all to the table, and you will catch yourself eating slow because you dont want it to end, unless you have room for another? We need this around here, totally would go back&Try something else.
Went with the classic and A Night in Amsterdam. Both delish with a nice cheese pull. Comes with a little side of tomato soup perfect for dipping (it's vegetarian) . I should've gotten a bowl of it bc it was very good. Casual little spot for a quick lunch. Highly recommend
Rainy day in st Augustine we decided to walk to grab some food to eat while we watched scary movies in our dry hotel room. After reading all the great reviews we decided on grilled cheese gallery because who doesn't love comfort food on a rainy night. I ordered the country girl sandwich with a side of fries. Sadly it was clearly a frozen chicken Pattie thrown in there, and some premade bland Mac & cheese. The tomato soup dipper was also lacking seasoning, and had no taste. Some how the fries were also bland. The best tasting part of the meal was the ketchup. Someone get these people some seasonings. My sister ordered the Amsterdam which is advertised as 4 cheeses however it was just 1 cheese and somehow also had NO FLAVOR. (Not pictured because we forgot before tossing it in the garbage) For the price we paid for these flavorless grilled cheese it's disappointing.
We recently had an awesome Mac and cheese grilled cheese called "The Mac Daddy" at Grilled Cheese Gallery in St. Augustine! It's not everyday that you get to choose from maybe 20+ grilled cheese sandwiches, while listening to classic rock music, in a steampunk inspired restaurant by the beach! Overall the menu looked great, our sandwich was tasty and neatly made, and the service was quick! If you're a fan of cheese, we do recommend!
We got here just as a large amount of customers came through. We are lucky to have gotten a table. By time our food was brought to our table. Half the other tables were open. Bless their fast turnover of food and seats. It is small inside. You order before you sest. The menu has over 40 items on it. You will not be disappointed. I had the Duke. Full of lobster and mac n cheese. It was very filling and favorable. I hope to try the duchess next time. That is a variation of the Duke sandwiche. Everything is kept clean. Moment someone leaves. An employee cleans the table for next person. The lavender lemonade was a nice touch to go with our sandwiches If ever in historic part of St. Augustine. This is a must for lunch.
Such a cool concept but I got two classic ones to see how amazing it would actually be! I was super disappointed because I think you need to get a doctored up one to have flavor. Truly nothing special in my opinion for the classic and the new Amsterdam one. It was very cheesy but had no flavor. I ended up trashing it, but at least I tried it. Prices were a little much but they give a Little Dipper of soup so you can dip your sandwich. The employee was nice and you can tell they were a little frustrated as it was busy. The establishment wasn't the cleanest, nor the restrooms and it was super hot in there! If I try it again, it would be a doctored up one!
Amazing vegan meal, I am so grateful when restaurants have completely vegan options on the menu!!! This grilled cheese has tofu shredded carrots and cucumbers, it was so yummy. Will definitely be back!! Friendly service, fast food. Cute place.
Omg! SOOOOO good! Best grilled cheese ever! We ate here earlier in the day and came back with the rest of the group for more! Everyone here was so friendly and nice as well.

Soooo good! Genius business. This place is tiny and the line was out the door but the wait was worth it! The guy at the counter was so friendly, he even gave us free bottles of water because the line was so long! Every grilled cheese came with a tiny cup of soup for dipping. Night in Amsterdam was amazing and came with a really good dipping sauce too. The Greek salad was also great- chopped up nice and small and even made fresh with organic romaine lettuce! I highly recommend eating here. The staff even looked like they were having a great time! read more

I absolutely LOVED this place it is so darn cute inside and the staff is so high energy and kind you just feel happy and energized when you enter. It's such a fun vibe for a comfort food place. After seeing high reviews on Yelp and getting a personal recommendation from my friend, I was excited to try this place. Sadly, it did not measure up to the hype. $40 for two grilled cheese sandwiches, a cup of soup, a soda, and one order of fries. The wait was longish for "fast casual", and the food was not hot. The cheese was more congealed than gooey, and our fries were all the little pieces. :( The restaurant is small and crowded, so not a place you want to linger. I'm glad I got to try it, but there are so many good spots in St Augustine, this is a "one and done" for me. read more

A must when visiting St. Augustine! This cute little place sits right across from the main park area and has never disappointed over the years even during the busy holiday season. The service is great and the presentation of select menu items has a very fun spin on them. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who loves a good grilled cheese and soup! read more
Heck yes! I recommend! This is a cute little spot in the middle of St Augustine ... perfect during Night of Lights as you have direct view of the lighted trees and the gazebo. Do not underestimate the type of food you'll be eating, hiding behind the simple name "grilled cheese." These sandwiches include bbq, mac and cheese, lobster! I ordered "The Duke" which is Lobster Mac and Cheese on pumpernickel. Quite satisfied with my order! It's pretty heavy so prepare to walk it off after. I wish there was more lobster, as one half of my sandwich had two chunks of lobster and the other half didn't have any lol. I'm not complaining as I walked in 5 minutes before closing. We grabbed a quick bite with the kiddo at The Grilled Cheese Gallery downtown! They take grilled cheese to another level. We tried one with Mac & cheese, chicken, chipotle sauce and one with Brie, bacon, raspberry & balsamic glaze. They were both delicious and the people there were super friendly! Kids Mac & cheese (not picture) was a really good portion and equally good! The homemade hibiscus lemonade? was good as well! The atmosphere is cool and I would definitely recommend this place to grilled cheese lovers and families! read more

The grilled cheese here is absolutely delicious, its crispy bread, gooey cheese and amazing sauce! We got the classic which was presented so cool! The chesterfield was perfect with the barbecue sauce and the meat was so tender! The hot chick salad was so refreshing and crispy it was all so good! Let's start off with the service. The people taking the order were friendly and helpful. The restaurant looks like a cool off the beaten path dive bar. It had a very interesting atmosphere and decor. The food was also good, I wouldn't say it was the best grilled cheese I have ever had but still very good. I was really looking for something to make my Queen Brie stand apart or make my sandwich worth the $11 I paid for just the sandwich. The sandwich itself was lacking actual flavor and was relying on the jam too much for flavor. Again nothing wrong with the sandwich or anything to say it was bad but just didn't blow my mind. Also service was a little slow, I don't usually knock off stars for that because I realize the majority of the world is understaffed and those working are doing the best they can, but with it being during a slow period and there seemed to be quite a few ppl in the kitchen, they seemed to be moving slow specially for just preparing sandwiches. So I did knock a half of a star for that. Over all a great little sandwich joint that is definitely worth a try. read more

OMG this place was incredible. Walking around downtown after touring both the distillery and winery in one morning we knew we needed to eat an early lunch. We found this restaurant as a small opening on the side of the main downtown street and I'm so glad we did. This place is small on the inside but if you can get a seat and stay I highly suggest. The music is great and the workers are very into it. The grilled cheeses we got were great and very filling, especially the Chesterfield. It could have easily fed two people. The only thing I would say is the menu says each sandwich comes with a side of soup but it was really more like a cup of marinara sauce. Still very good, was just looking forward to tomato soup. read more
There are many places to eat downtown and many feature their own unique niche in order to stand out. I think you can figure out what the specialty is in this place. You may not realize, however, they also make a great salad and offer poutine, which is a dish consisting of french fries, gravy, cheese, and may include a variety of other assorted goodies. We sampled the Hot Chick salad and the The Queen Brie sandwich, both of which were delicious. The tomato soup comes in dipping size with the sandwiches but I opted to upgrade to a cup side. If you only want to dip, the dipper is enough. The soup is definitely a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich, enhancing both into new levels of flavor. The salad was a surprise hit, filled with little pieces of panko crusted chicken that were excellent. The inside is narrow and tight and I wouldn't want to dine in if it was crowded. There is also limited seating at the counter. It took quite a while to receive our food and appears they cook one order at a time. Still, the food was worth the wait. We'll be back in the future to sample some of the other menu items, all of which sound delicious! read more
A very good, if a little expensive, grilled cheese place. It's probably the best grilled cheese themed restaurant I've ever eaten at, but it's definitely not gonna fill you up if you're starving. Order: A Night in Amsterdam, and The Country Boy About: $25 We were down in Saint Augustine, visiting a friend and looking for a place to eat and this restaurant jumped out at us. In the last few years, it seems like grilled cheese restaurants have become the cool thing to do, but so far I honestly haven't liked many of them. It's probably because I can make a great grilled cheese sandwich at home pretty easily. Despite that trend, we decided to give this place a try and were honestly pleasantly surprised. It's Saint Augustine so like almost every restaurant there it's a little overpriced and the decor leaves a little bit to be desired but we're honestly here for the food and it was spot on. My wife and I split the country boy, pulled pork barbecue with macaroni and cheese, and the Night in Amsterdam, which is a traditional grilled cheese, just with really good cheese. The quality is honestly exceptional, all of the cheese tasted like it was high quality and not pre-packaged kraft cheese, and even the pulled pork in the barbecue sandwich was good. My only two complaints are that it's a little expensive and it's not a ton of food. It's a great lunch-size portion, but I would need at least two of these for dinner. All in all, I don't like that many restaurants in Saint Augustine, so this one is definitely going to make the list to visit again next time we're there. read more

I was in downtown St. Augustine running some errands and thought to myself, "self, you're hungry, you deserve some food." So I walked down to the Grilled Cheese Gallery. Why? Because I've been meaning to try this place. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but when I walked in, it was a pretty tiny place. They had some counter seating and a handful of tables inside. Still not feeling super comfy sitting inside, I opted to order and take my meal to-go. I checked out their menu (FYI they have a LARGE menu outside). After looking it over with my sister, we opted to each order a sandwich and then split, so we could try eachother's. I mean sharing is caring, right?!? I opted for the Trail Boss and my sister opted for the GQ. I opted to substitute the white bread for sourdough (it's an upcharge, that I wasn't aware of), and my sister opted for sourdough versus pumpernickel. I will say I was a bit taken back that my sandwich came to $14.59 before tax, not including any type of side. The woman at the counter warned us before we ordered, that due to a large party ahead of us, our order would take about 20 minutes. She said we could wait outside or look around and she'd come out and bring our food to us. We opted to stand outside. Roughly 20 minutes later, our food was ready, packaged up in styrofoam containers. Since it felt like it was about 800 degrees outside, we decided to bring our food back to the car to eat, so we could enjoy it in some air conditioning. I opened my container up and looked at the sandwich, it looked good and smelled good. Please note, messy sandwiches like these would have been a better idea to eat them at a table, versus a car, but when in Rome, right? I gave my sister half of my sandwich and she gave me half of her's. The Trail Boss was stuffed with mac and cheese, lots of other cheese, BBQ sauce, and some meat. It was savory, it was messy, it was good. Was it $15 good? I'm still on the fence about that. The GQ was good, I liked the mix of tangy goat cheese, the saltiness of the prosciutto, and the crunch of the tomatoes. Pros: -Variety of sandwich options and poutine -Friendly staff -Good sandwiches Cons: -Price -For the price you have to order a side like fries separately -Lack of outdoor seating Tips: If you're with a few people and not sure what sandwich to get, go halfsies. read more

Enjoyed a quick dinner here. We got the Night in amsterdam and the veggie daddy. Veggie daddy was the star of the show, loved the texture and other flavors the veggies brought. Night in amsterdam was Ok it mostly tasted like a good grilled cheese at home. Nice that they provided dips for the sandwiches, all were great especially the chipotle one! read more
Such a cute little spot. Any of the grilled cheeses can be made gluten free and there are a lot of fun choices. I ate the Queen Brie with house made raspberry jam. It was delightful. They also have salads and poutine options. The service was great and the food comes out quick. It was a perfect quick lunch spot. read more

First off, I do NOT like grilled cheese sandwiches. I know, I'm weird. I only went in because my wife likes them. And gosh, am I glad we did. Their grilled cheese sandwiches have converted me, and I have now seen the light. My wife had the Classic Sandwich, I had the Duchess Sandwich, and my son had the kid's Mac n Cheese. We basically traded sandwiches after every bite because they were both so good, but if I had to choose which one I liked better, I would give the nod to the Duchess Sandwich. If you like, or don't like grilled cheese sandwiches like me, go in and get you some yummy eats. Your taste buds will thank you. =) read more

Fun vibe and super creative options on grilled cheese, Mac n cheese grilled cheese, and soft serve desserts. Oh, and poutine - can't find that in too many places! All five of us opted for the Mac n cheese version and it did not disappoint! Loved the pulled pork n bbq option. The ice cream cookie sandwich was solid (literally frozen solid), but the soft serve in the two cones we tried seemed a little off. No matter. Very friendly service - our guy even comped us a couple of free waters. Definitely worth a visit. read more
