12.30.24 I've passed Culver's on many occasions but just never stopped. After doing some grocery shopping with my oldest daughter, she suggested we stop there for lunch. She was surprised that one never eaten here before. We ordered on the drive thru. Lot was clean and building still looks new. Our order taker was so understanding and patient as I took way too long to order. We ended up just getting sandwiches. Grilled Chicken Deluxe on Sourdough ($6.00). Crispy Chicken Deluxe add bacon and mayo($7.69). Cod Filet sandwich with Tartar on the side($7.69). $26.70 total. I get home. Food is still warm. John's and Shay's food looked like the menu board picture. My Cod Filet sandwich looked nothing like the picture. Instead of a full COD portion, it looked like a filet strip. I had more bread than COD. We sat and ate. Enjoying our sandwiches. Next time, I'll try something different but make sure that I check my bag before leaving the restaurant.

Culver's isn't my thing- lets just start with that. BUT- John, my other half, LOVES Culver's. So- when we were a couple blocks away car shopping and we wanted a small bite- I suggested going here for him. I am still shocked he didn't get a concrete! Instead he just got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. I opted for the cheese curds and a kids andes mint custard concoction they had advertised. Burger- now John said it was a butter burger, but it was slippery it was so buttered. Fries- ok, nothing to get excited about. Cheese curds- meh, I love cheese curds and this was definitely the fast food version of them. Andes Mint custard- was very tasty- but there was big chunks of chocolate shell (the hardening kind you top ice cream with). Like I started this review with- Culver's really isn't my thing, but it was clean, service was pretty quick and my other half loves it.

This 2-scoop is much larger than this implies, and cost less than five bucks with the waffle cone.

There's no shortage of ice cream in St. Augustine, but if you're craving frozen custard, make a stop here on your way in or out.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Good atmosphere and the food coming out of the kitchen looked and tasted great -- no complaints…read morethere. The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. By the time I was a few sips in, it was mostly meltwater. For that money I'd expect the drink to outlast the ice. Suggestion for the house: given the name, lean into it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.

We had a small group so we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The reason I took a star off the rating was for service. It was disappointing because every single employee we encountered was not overly friendly. This includes hostess, bartender and waitress. It was odd. Such a cute place but we felt like the staff was just blah. No personality, not helpful, nothing. Not interactive or engaging. Maybe it was an off night for everyone. I will give it another chance.

It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!
