    a cheeseburger and french fries
    Kervin H.

Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Fill Factor: Satisfied I tried Grillies after seeing multiple locations around the city and wondering what they were about. I did not have much expectations when I walked through their doors but am happy to say that I came out of the place a happy customer. I ordered the Monster burger and the chicken breast burger with a side of fries. The Monster burger comes with a beef as well as a chicken patty in case you were wondering. You begin by choosing which sauce you would like your burger(s) is grilled in (I chose the spicier option but did not notice the heat). Next you choose your toppings from a long list of ingredients and sauces of items and sauces which ranged from lettuce, tomatoes and pickles all the way to fried eggs and extra bacon (which both cost extra). For the sauce I chose the secret sauce because why would you choose anything else if a secret option is available. Overall the burgers tasted great and the portions were good given the price. My partner who is a self proclaimed "fries expert" loved the fries here so take that for what it's worth. The service was pretty good here as the lady was patient in walking me through the topping selection process and giving me recommendations when asked. There is a good amount of seating and is pretty spaced out so it did not feel cramped at all. I enjoyed my visit to Grillies greatly as the burgers were delicious and filling. They also sell items like burritos and tacos in case burgers are not your thing. They offer daily specials as well so take advantage of those on your visit here.

We loved how the Monster burger turned out. It was a great deal. The amount of freedom you have to customize your burger is also very much appreciated. Minus points for me was the very long wait time we had to endure. For what looks like a quick-serve restaurant, the time we spent waiting was unacceptable. We were here on a Friday night and was surprised that it was very lonely and we were the only ones dining in. There were several others coming in to order, but all of them were for take away.

Friday special - pulled beef burrito $5.99

This place offers daily special - you can get a burger for $4.99 or burrito for $5.99. I came here today (Friday) and got the shredded beef special. I opted for the burrito option. You can make it a combo (fries and pop) for additional $2.99. They offer whole wheat or white burrito shell. The options for the shredded beef were medium, spicy or bbq flavour. They were generous on the portion of beef and I chose the spicy option. The spice level wasn't too spicy but tasted alright. They offer a lot of veggies such as lettuce, tomato, corn, onion, cucumber, hot banana peppers, jalopeno peppers, olives, and carrots. They only have white rice - It's not your typical burrito rice, it's more like balsamic rice. One thing I found unique was that they offer b beans or chick peas. I didn't mind that option and added both beans and chickpeas in my burrito. They have a large selection of sauce, however, if you want sauce on the side it's an additional $1. I really enjoy the amount of toppings they have. I just didn't enjoy the burrito as much since it was too soaked (I had minimal sour cream, special sauce, and hot sauce in my burrito). The special burrito of the day is definitely a bang for your buck.

Sorry but this is the worst tacos I've had in my life. Just not good in any way. Plus the fact that my order took an hour to make!

Meh, very standard fare. I got the bacon cheese burger $8 with fries, coke $3. I wouldn't recommend getting the bacon, it's the microwavable stuff that ends up being burnt. The beef itself was a bit burnt on the sides as well making it medium well done. I usually prefer mily burgers medium rare but maybe that's the standard here? Fries are regular, good if you need something to munch on. Staff is nice and there seems to be many in the kitchen making food even when there's only me and another table. This place is huge so there's always table space. I've definitely had better burgers but it's good enough when you're hungry. Just skip the bacon.

This is their Killer Griller burrito with seasoned chicken. I got the chipotle dressing and it was delicious! great portion size!

Very good. I really enjoyed the food, will definitely go back and the prices are reasonable. They make everything to order and the fries stayed crunchy even after the 20 min drive back home to eat our takeout. Great portion size burritos too!

Delivery through Just Eat -- Tinx Way burger, fries, medium bean tacos (chickpeas) and spicy bean burritos (red kidney beans)

Great vegan options! I ordered through Just Eat and got a veggie burger (confirmed vegan by owner), fries, chickpea tacos ("medium" heat beans) and red kidney bean burritos ("spicy" heat beans). The prices are reasonable and there are so many free toppings you can add to your burger/burrito/taco. Standard items like lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers, but also items like rice, potatoes and grilled vegetables. Everything was super fresh and tasty and my note about no dairy was honoured. Will definitely order again!

Decent selection at a good price! My husband and I had been considering trying this place for awhile and we finally settled on going there tonight for a quick, cheap meal. And it was just that! Although, it was good quality and good service. I got the veggie burger combo, you get to pick all your own toppings and sauce which is nice. He got the daily special, pulled pork burrito for 5.99! Worth a try!

Good place to eat and. Nice decor, signage. Place is clean, staff is friendly. Caring like they like to work there. I had the beef burger and onion rings. Onion rings were meh... I had better. Burger was tastly definitely got to be back to try the burritos. They have daily deals which I'm going to take advantage of that for the next time. It's right off main and danforth.... Not the best area but it's not obscure location, the area is just questionable but the food is worth it. I would give it 3.5 but I'm willing to round it up due to staff and service.

That's a handful of goodness right there.

Had it via Uber eats. The food is exceptionally high quality. We tried the 3 beef tacos and a beef burrito. Every single topping is fresh, and the beef was not fast food quality at all more like home cooking.

When I went to the basement washroom, I swear I saw what looked like the end of a mouse's tail sticking out from under the door. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him honestly that it was terrible. I had only taken two bites, and there was really no response. I wouldn't have wanted a replacement anyway after that experience. I also had some fruit bites, and about 10 minutes later my stomach started gurgling. By the time I got home, I felt awful. I was shivering, felt like I was going to throw up, and had to rush to the bathroom. It honestly felt like food poisoning. And I still paid for my meal Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

The place is a bit small so it can be a bit tight so I would highly recommend having reservations if you have a large group. Tacos: The soft and the crispy tacos were both delicious. The tinga chicken and the beef barbacoa were juicy and full of flavour. The portions was fair, the quality was a standout and tasted quite authentic. Overall, I really had a great experience at Playa Cabana, totally would come here again to try out their other dishes.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 4 ($US 150 for a good amount of food and drinks at this caliber is a steal) Opentableable: yes but not later Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best fine dining Mexican pizza, best service I've had ever, best trio of meats I've had Highlights: - Mexican pizza (aka tlayuda toloqueña): phenomenal invention and best thing I ate the whole trip. Fresh crispy tortillas combination of so many ingredients and melded well together from green chorizo to dollops of white bean to slices of carrot. 5 stars - Pork (pork secreto al pastor): most tender pork ever! Brined then sous vide and finished grilled. Surprise onion compote was wonderful plus slices of grilled pineapple. 5 stars - Duck (dry aged Hudson Valley duck breast) : I've had HV duck many times before but this is one of the most standout duck breast I have had. Tender not gamey at all and in a lovely sauce. I love duck and cannot comprehend why this blew y mind, but I'm happy it did. 5 stars - Hanger steak (prime hanger): cooked perfectly medium rare with a creamy au poivre like sauce on top. My friend would have preferred to be asked how it was cooked and she had to stick to the end pieces to be less pink--but I loved it the way it was. 4.75 stars (wonderful but I had to separate it from the others) - Chocolate mousse (spiced Mexican Hot Chocolate): light and airy but deep in chocolate flavor with a sponge cake made with honey that mimicked honeycombs. Another surprise hit. 5 stars - Scallop ceviche (Hokkaido scallop ceviche in a leche negra sauce): tender bits of scallops with avocado in what I equate to a black taco seasoned sauce made with ground up ingredients. 4.25 stars - Sweet potato (coal roasted sweet potato): large tender pieces with char and greens around. 3.5 stars - Atmosphere: open fire everywhere with the kitchen right out there, high energy in the low almost cave - like white stone dining room which was very unique - Wine: great - Abraham: delightful, fun, and well educated waiter who answered my dorky questions about the food - Utensils for each course: loved it so there was no mystery of what you were supposed to use to keep you out of any Pretty Woman situation - Service overall: outside of the waiter, every single person was amazing. From the people presenting our dishes, to the ones constantly wiping our tables, to the individual who chatted with us as we were waiting for our friends before we left. I dine out a lot and this was top notch impeccable some of the best service I have ever had at any restaurant anywhere. I can only think of Alinea that could top it. Midlights: - Cocktails: majority are mezcal which is understandable with the cuisine and smokey theme, but I'm not a mezcal person so options were minimal Lowlights: - Creepy dark basement bathroom

My wife and I just recently completed our 4th visit to this Michelin-starred masterpiece. We did make the mistake this time of sitting at the Chef's Counter in the middle of summer with the fire grills going, but it's such an amazing experience to watch them all be pros at what they do that it makes you forget about the sweat. Sitting at the bar is also equally fun with the engaging bartenders. The service and the ambiance of the long, corridor-like place is just incredible. The darker lit atmosphere gives it a really intimate but welcoming feel. And every server or bartender or chef we've talked to there has been equally friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. We also absolutely love the fact that virtually everything is naturally gluten free (perfect for those with celiac!). This time around, we got the mushroom and shishito peppers (I don't even like mushrooms with the firm texture but these ones were insanely tender I would happily eat them whenever), tuna tiradito, empanada, and bone marrow and shrimp (not sure we've ever had bone marrow before or that we'd get it again, but it was definitely an interesting flavor and not a disappointment in the least). We also had a solo regular sit next to us who happily gave us a piece of his tlayuda which was maybe the best of what we got the entire night. Dessert was the coconut nicuatole, which was the perfect cherry (or pineapple) on top of another perfect dinner. In the past, we've also heavily enjoyed the scallop ceviche and coal roasted sweet potato and our friend also raved about the whole seabream. Their cocktails are also on point and the tasting menu with drink pairing is also hugely fun but come ready to leave stuffed because it's a LOT. Best restaurant ever and I can't wait to go back again!
