Grimaldi's is a large anchor restaurant in a great development of mixed residential and commercial. The restaurant was well appointed and very clean. Staff were friendly and we were quickly seated. Pizzas are made to order so it takes a little longer than many restaurants but we should have ordered an appetizer to minimize the feel of waiting. Pizza was served piping hot and delicious. My son and I split a large pie and my wife had the gluten free crust. The server asked clarifying questions about my wife's gluten needs (allergy vs intolerance) and clearly communicated with the kitchen. Ordered pick up twice from here. First time was told it was going to be 45-50 min. Ended up waiting another 30 min since I arrived for my pizza. The second time I went I ordered two large pizzas for pick up. I was told it was going to be a hour. When I went to pick up the pizza one of them was made and they said they lost the other pizza and would put it in the oven but would take 10-15 min. After 25min I received the second pizza. Table for 1 please and got seated right next to a wall with patio furniture (with photo as proof) as my table cover with "pleasant" table covering plus a fire extinguisher right behind me. Terrible seating overall in my opinion. Food was good for the price point but since I wanted sausage on my slice it was an extra 75 cents Service was good considering that I only saw 1 waitstaff for the whole dining room plus some extra staff to help. I've been to Grimaldi's a few times ,but most recently went for a family dinner. They have accommodations for larger parties- we made a reservation in advance. Our server was very kind and attentive, which I appreciate! I started with spritz (so delicious and not too sweet, which I loved) and split a small Caesar salad with my bf. I feel like the small salad size serves 2 to 3 people and the large maybe 4-6. I also got a personal-sized brick-oven margarita pizza, which was good. I liked that it has a crispy crust and good amount of sauce. You can also customize pizzas to your personal preference. Overall, a solid spot to try out for brick-oven style pizzas! read more

First time here for me, but my wife had had their pizza many times for business meetings (catered into her workplace). She warned me that it was kinda "meh." I now agree. Ordered one of their pizzas off the menu which was to have sausage and ricotta on it, and then we added mushrooms to half. Pizza took forever to come out (45+ minutes)...server apologized...not sure what was going on as they were not terribly busy with in-house customers (although it seemed there was a bustling pickup window). Crust was good and tasty. Everything else was nothing special. Sauce was bland, like right out of a tomato sauce can. Sausage was tasty, but there was a TINY amount of sausage on the pizza. I would guess if you piled it all together, you would have trouble covering a bar coaster in a single layer. Each large piece of pizza had 1-3 pieces of sausage, each the size of my thumbnail. Ricotta was nearly non-existent on the pizza....maybe identifiable on 2-3 of the slices. This was consistent with what my wife's many prior experiences was....not enough topping and bland sauce leading to a disappointing experience. Lastly, and somewhat troubling..... Men's room was COMPLETELY out of hand soap in the single soap dispenser....not a drop! I told 2 servers on the way back to my table and they said that they would tell the right person to correct the situation. Stopped by for lunch and had two giant pizza slices--one Hot Honey Pepperoni and one Meat Lovers. Both were loaded with toppings, cooked perfectly, and absolutely delicious. The slices were huge and made for a very satisfying meal. The service was just as impressive. Everyone was friendly, our food came out quickly, and our server checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. We stopped here to celebrate a birthday and I'll admit I was extremely reticent due to past reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised at our very normal evening here. The restaurant is a large open space with traditional pizzeria garb - red and white checkered tables, wine bottle chandeliers (very cute) and garage doors that open for patio dining. We ordered drinks and received them pretty quickly. They were out of an IPA on tap but they thankfully had a few choices with taps and bottles. Also, plenty of wine and cocktails. Our server was very nice and patient with us as we were contemplating our food choices. The small mediterranean salad was pretty big and we were able to share amongst our table. We ended up splitting 2 18 in pizzas amongst 6 adults and it worked out pretty well. My only gripe is the price - expensive for a thin crust pizza. However, the group agreed it was pretty good and many said they'd come back. Also wish they had drink pricing online but you just have to wait to be surprised by their selection. We got our drinks and food timely and dinner actually went much faster than we were planning. We also saw a large salad on our way out and it was a huge platter - well worth it to get a large salad for a group for just a few bucks more. Stopped in for an impromptu lunch while shopping at the corners of Brookfield. We were seated right away, and our server was very friendly. We started with the bruschetta trio which included three different types of bruschetta all were pretty good, but I will say that the classic was my favorite. We ordered the arugula prosciutto pizza at the recommendation of our server. This is typically one of my favorite pizzas and it was good, but the flavor was missing something and there was too much arugula not enough prosciutto. The space is beautiful and very intimate but that's the highlight. Food was okay but the service was my big issue here. Service was not the worst I've ever had but I always felt like an after thought. Took almost 90 minutes to get our food but we had a group of 12 but that still felt really long. There is not a lot of space to wait, so your best bet is to put your name in and maybe shop nearby. We ordered a gluten-friendly pizza (note: there's literally flour everywhere, so it's not safe for those with celiac or severe gluten sensitivities), a regular pizza, and the lemon arugula salad. The pizzas were fine--nothing spectacular--but the salad was overly bitter and not enjoyable. We still ate it, because we were hungry. The service was okay, but nothing stood out. The restaurant didn't feel clean, and we noticed some questionable practices as we waited (cell phone in the prep area, for example). Overall, Grimaldi's was just average. The wait, lack of cleanliness, and bitter salad left us less than impressed for the cost. Too many great pizza places in Milwaukee to return. read more

We had amazing service here! We have two young children and don't usually go out to eat but my friend told me this place was good for kids and it really was. Our server was so sweet. They had coloring AND pizza dough (like play dough) for the kids. It kept them so locked in so we could enjoy a dinner out. The food was also delicious! We had a salad which came out first and a two pizzas (a regular cheese and a hot honey pepperoni which was devine). Easily accessible in the shopping center with plenty of parking. We ate around 8 and were able to get right in on the patio. The patio is dog friendly and they kindly provided water for the dogs. The atmosphere was quite and server was very friendly and accommodating. We started with the Bruschetta. Tomato and Basil and a Marinated artichoke. They allowed us to swap one which seemed east enough. The tomato basil was good. I think we preferred the artichoke more. Pizza we ordered the Don half without pepperoni. Delicious food and great servers! The strawberry Italian soda was refreshing. I also got the sausage and white garlic pizza. It was flavorful, and I enjoyed the crispy crust. I understand that some people may not be a fan of this place due to its slow service. However, I know that they make their dough from scratch, and you can even see the workers rolling and shaping the dough. That takes time, and it makes the quality of the pizza better than other pizzerias. What separates this restaurant from other places is their amazing servers. There are many restaurants I have dined at with extremely slow service yet the server will not acknowledge it, which makes me reconsider coming back. Grimaldi's is not like this at all. Our server acknowledged that we were waiting for a long time and even gave us some complimentary bread for the long wait. When it was time for our bill, she even thanked us for being patient and apologized that she was not able to check on us a lot due to them being understaffed. That professionalism and politeness is the reason why I am going to continue to come here, even if I have to wait a bit. The food and kind service are worth the wait! read more

Got a Brooklyn bridge pizza to go. Pizza was okay except there was very little sausage on it. My biggest complaint was a staff member who appeared to be a food expediter was wearing jeans that exposed the upper part of his buttocks. The style is called "sagging", I don't want my food touched by a person with their underwear showing. Whenever we are near Brookfield, we stop here for really good NY style pizza. Being from New Jersey, this is our kind of pizza! The decor is vintage NYC....love it. Our server was super friendly and helpful. The pizzas just taste so good. They are coal fired, so you can see and taste the char on the crust. Be careful what you order; the crust may be soggy in the middle (case in point, their margarita pizza is very wet in the middle, but the tomato topping is oh so good!) The outer crust is crunchy, chewy. The sauce has just the right seasoning. The cheese is good quality as well. The sausage topping is a crumble and not too hot. When ordering pizzas, get the 18". With the thin crust, it is not hard at all for 2 people to finish off one pizza. One of our pizzas had a small black rock of coal on it. (Being baked in a coal oven, sometimes they will 'pop' onto the pizzas.) They usually get removed before sending it out. Kudos of the management; they understood and offered to adjust the bill. The pizza flavors taste great, and I really like the Ivy. I usually enjoy thin crust, but this crust is far too thin. New York slice isn't accurate, a true NY slice has substance, it's thin, but not paper-thin. These slices are cut wide, but the crust lacks the structure. I would recommend not rolling the crust so paper thin. At this thickness, it's not worth $30. It could justify the price if the crust had more body. It doesn't need to be super thick, just more balanced and sturdy enough to support the slice and toppings. This 16 inch should not have costed me more than $20-$22. If corrections are made then yes the pizza would be worth $30. i've tried the pizza both in Texas and in Wisconsin. It's pretty consistent in both places. The great flavor is consistent as well. read more

I am telling you that if your in the Brookfield area and you want a delicious pizza eat here! Your not going to get a Chicago deep dish here but I will argue all day long that a coal fired pizza has the best flavor. The place was busy on a Saturday and we sat at one of the only outside tables available. Beer and Margarita delivered and then ordered the tomato bruschetta which was good. They don't put the balsamic on it as many places do as that would probably make it soggy by the time you eat it so they bring the bottle and you put it on yourself. I was ok with the lightly toasted bread but if you want it crustier you should probably tell them when you order it. With that course completed the pizza came and it was soooo good. I don't put a lot on my pizza but a few pepperoni and some onions added an explosion of flavors in every bite. The sauce and the crust were perfectly cooked and you were able to taste that coal fired taste through each slice. Now hold on, because they have an app and if you sign up you get a free pizza on your birthday!! Not only that but they credited us the cost of the appetizer just for signing up. We have a gluten allergy (non-celiac) in our family, so we had to get the gluten friendy option. Since we didn't get the normal pizza, you can disregard this review as a part of the general concensus. As far as GF pizzas go, it wasn't bad. The crust was thin and crisp on the edge crust, but a little on the soft and gooey side for the base. MOD pizza has a better GF crust overall. The ingredients felt a little skimpy (I'm sorry, we were hungry so I didn't snap a photo), especially for the prices we paid ($3 pepperoni, $3 spinach, $2 mushrooms). Overall, we felt we overpaid for the amount of pizza and ingredients we got. I did order for pickup and it was ready at the designated time, so they were good in thier estimation. I would come here again, but not to try the GF option. I'd go straight to the standard pizza. read more

Don't expect to dine and dash, we have been waiting an hour for our pizza now. We have tried multiple times to get in here only to be told it would be and hour or longer for a table. While I always thought the problem was Millennials sitting to long after eating, it turned out that the put online and to-go orders ahead of the dinning room. While our salads we good, the pizza came out burnt and over cooked, suggestion take the pizza out sooner and customers wouldn't wait as long. This Grimaldi's location has been on my radar for so long! My mom and Nana brought me here for lunch after some much needed retail therapy and it was so good! We started with the ceaser salad which was amazing! I hate thick, creamy ceaser dressing ( I don't know why? Personal preference), but this one was so light, lemony and garlicky- to die for! The croutons we're homemade and had the perfect crunch. Would definitely get this again! On to the pizza- WOW! The thin crust was so buttery but had the perfect char on the crust that complimented the meaty mozzarella and crispy sausage. So yummy! I would recommend this pizza to anyone indecisive on pizza toppings! The basil added the perfect flavor too. Just wow. Our service was great and the inside was so cute! I love the wine bottle lights scatted around and the classic red and white checkered table clothes just makes me smile:) I would definitely recommend checking it out and will be back again! read more

This one is hard for me to rate. I've been here a few times but this reflects my most recent experience. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon (inbetween 1 & 2) which the hours listed are Saturday 11:00 am - 10:00 pm. We were told we couldn't be seated due to online/to-go orders and an oven was being cleaned (?). While it was busy, there were a few spots I could see available to see seated at. I am not sure how that is acceptable. Perhaps signage? But another couple got seated after us. I didn't see that anyone else was turned away. Not sure if this is solely a management problem but it honestly needs to be looked at and considered. I don't need a boilerplate response from some PR person here on yelp. I just need you to figure out if you are serving patrons or not. Or am I not the right type of patron? That's what it felt like. read more

The two of us have been here many times and visit typically every couple months. We come here for the brick oven pizza. Simple right?? Apparently not for the crew that worked this night. On a very slow Monday night June 17, 2024, we ordered a small 12" pizza at 6:35. At 7:35, 1 hour later they brought out a pizza we didn't order..! We are still waiting..... UPDATE: they brought our pizza out an hour and 15 later! Yay..! Again wrong pizza. Manager came out to apologize and didn't charge us for the pizza. It took over 2 hours for our pizza and it was less than acceptable. Manager no where to be found to explain what the delay was.
