Food was excellent, I got the BQQ Chicken Salad The Service was two out of 10 bad me and my group had to wait almost 4 hours to get our check for the table and we had to wait one hour for our drinks to come to the table. Ambulance was amazing, although it was quite very loud and disturbing for people that has hearing aids or people that can't do loud restaurants. Yeah, disappointed to say only "OK" We have dined there several times before and found the noise level to be deafening making it even louder because everyone has to should to be heard...... so on the reservation we had asked for a quieter area, and were so accommodated. Wine (Sauvignon Blanc) was brought promptly with a decent pour. Complimentary bread was also very good. The Caesar Salad, to me, is fabulous. And it did not disappoint this night either. But then on to the entrees. I have had the medallions and also short ribs in the past and found them to be very good but wanted to be a bit different this time and ordered the Short Rib Risotto. It was not a taste delight and I would suggest for them to not have it as a highlighted menu selection. The Pinot I had with it helped. My wife had Pecan Crusted Grouper which was a tad underdone with parts of the flesh being "glassy". The dessert, Banoffee (sp?) was very good. In summary we had top notch service, a really good desert, great salad, and barely mediocre entrees. Finally I really screwed up with the check. It came $125 and I put the total down as $150. Whoever took the card only charged me the $125 and the waiter got stifled. So I am going back tonight to try to find Justine, our waiter, and give him his tip. Excellent stop here on a weeknight. I made a reservation and was seated immediately. I haven't been since before the remodel and they did a great job opening it up more. The tasting area was busy but not as busy as it has been. They extended happy hour out to the dining area which is a FANTASTIC idea. With how busy the bar got, it was always pandemonium and you could never really enjoy it. Though they removed some of their star apps from the Cocktail Hour menu (potstickers, meatballs, egg rolls), they have some other nice options. The menu has gotten pricier, but they still have quite a few options. My server, Amy, was polite, attentive, and very friendly. Excellent service throughout the night. Top notch night. It was good, flavorful, and satisfying. I would say, I wasn't necessarily surprised. I've never had a bad version anywhere. Everyone enjoyed their entrees but the true star of the meal.... My goodness it was the Brussels sprouts! They were cooked crispy, had a sweet and mild heat sauce, and the addition of cashews took them to the next level. We talked about those for about ten minutes after first bite! I was all of our first time having them here. 4. Service The staff did their job. No complaints or wows! Definitely not memorable. 5. Pricing This isn't a cheap date, but it's definitely not the most expensive either. When you walk into Cooper's Hawk, you expect to spend a little money. I've also never had a bad experience here. Went to celebrate a friend's birthday! It was a nice lunch! I got their signature Bloody Mary and it was delicious and came with delicious garnishes. I also got the surf and turf and it was great! The filet was perfectly cocked (I ordered medium-rare with emphasis on the rare and they nailed it). The lobster was great a they took it out of the shell so I didn't need to worry about all that. Another great meal at Cooper Hawk. We went for date night on Christmas Eve which started out with a wine tasting (8 samples) then we were seated at 5:30. I ordered the chef's special #1 which was a squash stuffed ravioli and spinach topped with a seafood topping (shrimp, scallops), in cream sauce which was fantastic and a chefs special surf and turf which a filet medallians and lobster tail which was equally as good. "Cooper's Hawk Winery" is a very interesting place. We arrived to a large parking lot that was packed. As we entered the establishment I was impressed by the sheer size of the place. It seemed to go on forever in every direction. Immediately to my left was a LONG bar with absolutely no room left ... people were 2 and 3 deep. The opposite side of the room was where carryout was handled. Lots of folks were in line there. A long room off to the right was filled and the main dining room in front of us was BIG and full. The number of people in the restaurant was uncountable. As you can imagine, the noise level was commensurate with the crowd. We were greeted quickly and the multiple hosts at the desk appeared to be experienced at handling this volume of people. They worked quickly and efficiently. We were seated in minutes. As we arrived at our table we were greeted by a very pleasant, bubbly young woman with a great smile. She filled our water while talking about ordering drinks and told us our fresh bread was on the way. By the time she reappeared with our drink order a hot loaf of bread was there and we were ready to order. The menu has a nice, varied selection. I started with the "Classic Tomato Bruschetta" which was prepared differently than I'm used to, but it was good. I followed with the "Sweet Corn & Tomato Risotto". It was very good but could have used more corn and a little less tomato. My wife enjoyed the "Squash Ravioli with Sea Food" and our guests enjoyed their meals as well. As I said earlier, the sheer volume in the place was almost overwhelming. Having a conversation was difficult. We followed our meal with coffee as usual. It was not very good... a little burnt. This spot was a modern style winery focused on pairing their wines with all the dishes on the menu. The ambiance was casual but still giving a higher end vibe. The service was on point. They offered samples of each wine prior to bringing me a full glass. The samples were large portions as well so you could get a real feel for the flavor profile. I started off with a fresh loaf of a pretzel bread and house butter. The bread was doughy and still warm. Super fresh. Then, I ordered a cup of their shrimp and crab lobster bisque. The soup was rich and creamy with little bites of shrimp. The croutons tasted house made and had an Italian seasoning on them. The risotto had the right balance of bright flavors with the asparagus, peas, and corn. The Parmesan and truffle oil added a deep umami richness. Last time I stopped in our server informed us of the wine membership where you can choose 1-3 bottles per month and earn rewards based on your spending, as well as birthday and anniversary gifts for you and a guest. The lunch special is a great deal if you want a smaller portion for a cheaper price. The pretzel crusted pork chop had a savory bbq sauce and was very tender. Had I gone at dinner time I would've got the short rib risotto which is one of my favorite dishes. The Over the Border Egg Rolls came with a trio of sauces and all were good in their own way. It was a nice compliment to the smaller lunch portion. As for the wine, their Winter Red is a new favorite of mine and I'll be sure to stock up before it's gone. read more

I had stopped in Cooper's Hawk one time but have never dined here until recently. My mom and I were having a girls afternoon and after getting our nails done in the Brookfield area decided to grab a bit to eat. We were just a few minutes from Cooper's Hawk and had neither tried it before so decided to give it a whirl. We arrived and though their wine shop at the front was bustling with people, we were able to be seated straight away. We started off our dining experience with cocktails. Though they're a winery, they do have a cocktail menu as well. I ordered their Manhattan (as did my mom). It was pitch perfect. For our starter, we got the bruschetta, which turned out to have pancetta on it (that was my bad for assuming the bruschetta would be vegetarian). My mom enjoyed the bruschetta and I dug into the pretzel loaf they brought to the table (what's not to love about pretzel bread?!?). For my main, I got the gnocchi with butternut squash. It has baby spinach, sage, chevre, mashed and slightly spiced and sweet butternut squash, and topped with lightly french fried onions. It was perfectly balanced and packed with flavor. Our server was friendly and prompt throughout our experience. The prices are about what you might expect for a upscale dining experience ($50-60 per person after drinks and tip). This was my first time dining at this Coopers Hawk location. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had high hopes having been a long time customer of one of their restaurants in suburban Chicago. Our server Bella was very helpful with recommendations. We had the Brussel sprouts appetizer which was delicious. It was consistent with the other locations I have frequented. For my main entree, I had the short ribs with roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. The meat was very tender, veggies and potatoes tasty. I was happy with my choice. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's entree - the country pasta - was disappointing. The sauce was watery like someone was in a hurry. Bella was apologetic and managed to take that off our bill. As for wine, I'm very picky... My experience with Coopers Hawk wines has been hit or miss. For me, I'm sticking with their white wines. Overall, I think Coopers Hawk is worth checking out. Julia was wonderful in helping me put together a gathering for 24 people in their private room with less than 48 hours notice. Everyone was impressed with the food, wine and ambiance. The WI location (Brookfield) is run and staffed by the most unprofessional people I've encountered outside of fast food. From the host staff to management, it's repulsive. Recently dined at this particular CH location with my husband. This particular CH is located directly next to a Total Wine store within a shopping plaza area. There seems to be some renovations taking place near the entrance door. My husband ordered 'Ellie's Chicken Piccata,' and I had 'Dana's Parmesan Crusted Chicken'. We've both had these dishes at other CH locations and found them to taste just as good here. The pretzel bread seemed fresher at this location than others we've been to. We both drank water and shared a picture of peach Sangria. The sangria was good, but I found it to be more sweeter than my liking. The service was pretty efficient. We did not have reservations. Started with wine tasting, so many workers, but every other glass I had to flag someone down for the next tasting. Our waitress was awesome, very nice and attentive, but you could tell we were seated around the corner from the rest of her section making it more challenging to view us. The Asian Slaw was once my favorite, but the recipe changed and didn't have the crunch wontons and didn't seem fresh, the broccoli was standard, and the tuna was delicious. The manager comes across as lazy, rude, and condescending, which creates an uncomfortable environment for both staff and guests. In particular, the new GM, Bianca, is extremely unapproachable. Rather than fostering a supportive or open environment, she presents herself in an intimidating and dismissive way. She often speaks to employees in a belittling, condescending tone, making it clear she leads through authority rather than respect. As a customer, it's genuinely upsetting to witness how she treats staff. The dynamic feels less like leadership and more like someone exerting power in an unnecessary and unhealthy way. It comes across as though she may be compensating for her own insecurities by talking down to employees, which creates a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone involved. Management sets the tone for a restaurant, and it's disappointing that Cooper's Hawk allows this behavior to represent their brand. Employees deserve leadership that is respectful, supportive, and approachable! Not demeaning, and guests deserve to dine in an environment that doesn't feel tense or uncomfortable. I loved my butternut squash gnocchi and was happy to see that there were multiple vegetarian options on the menu! Service was great and we had a server consistently checking on us despite it being packed! The interior is conducive of a nice high end dinner and winery tasting room.
