My family has been going to CPK for "family dinners" for a long time, and honestly it rarely disappoints. We always start with two orders of the Szechwan Chicken Dumplings for the table, and they always get devoured well before the entrees arrive. This last visit, I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon from their new Protein Packed menu. It came with North Atlantic salmon with smoked paprika and lime, served on top of tender broccolini and finished with Piccata sauce, capers and lemon. It was FANTASTIC! They also introduced a Lower Cal menu, which also had some great options. While my family prefers their pizza, which is always delicious, I love the choice of healthier options in case you have a taste for something other than pizza or pasta. read more

We were greeted in a not so timely manner, which we were thankful for because that gave us the opportunity to admire the amazing posters surrounding the entrance. We were seated at a lovely table, and the Shirley temples were flowing. The bread was fluffy, soft, and fresh and paired with the oil it was a transcendent experience. However, we had very little time to enjoy it, for our entrees came out nearly 5 minutes after ordering, which we found supreme. The Mac and cheese was although lacking in some flavor, overall was pretty good and reminiscent of my childhood. The pizza of the three colors comprising the Italian flag was very good and very filling. Side note, where'd your key lime pie go? I am very disappointed please bring it back I miss it. Here's the TLDR: The food here is delicious, but the service is incredibly slow. I went for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and they have some really great lunch specials. I ordered a 7 inch personal pizza with a salad. The margherita pizza I ordered was super yummy. The crust was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The cheese to sauce ratio was spot on - it wasn't too cheesy and it wasn't too saucy. The pizza could do with a little more basil, but I appreciated the fact that the herbs were fresh. The baja crunch salad was delicious. The dressing was flavorful and the unique addition of pepitas added a great bit of texture and crunch. The fresh strawberry mango cooler was reminiscent of a Starbucks Refresher - but way better. It was bubbly and had fresh fruit in it to add a little more flavor. And the presentation was so cute! It did take us a while to get seated. It's not that there weren't tables available, it's that we waited by the hostess station for an unusually long amount of time before an employee came to seat us. Once outside on the patio, our server took our drink orders promptly, but then it actually a while for them to arrive. After that, we didn't see our server for a while. We also waited a pretty long time for our food considering the fact that the restaurant wasn't very busy. However, the deliciousness of the food kind of made up for it. If you're at the Bayshore Town Center and need a place to stop for lunch, California Pizza Kitchen is a good little place to stop (if you're not in a hurry). read more

It had been a hot minute since I've been to a CPK, so my husband and I figured we'd give it a go after shopping at Bayshore. The inside of the restaurant offers a calm atmosphere, is somewhat low-lit, and has plenty of booth and table seating. We were given menus to look over for a bit, and certainly needed the time to do so - lots and lots of options here! Besides the obvious (pizza), dishes available include things like egg rolls, lettuce wraps, street corn, soups, tacos, pasta, and sandwiches. It would be tough to not to find something you're in the mood for. In the end we opted for a pizza and salad combo to split. We are without a doubt people who vote that pineapple does indeed belong on pizza, so we went with a classic Hawaiian. The applewood smoked ham was thick and plentiful, and the slivered scallions added a nice touch of flavor. Also, the crust was perfect. Thin and crispy, yet a nice soft dough around the edges. The Italian chopped salad paired nicely with the za as well. It was comprised of roasted turkey breast, julienned salami, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, mozz cheese and fresh basil. A mustard herb vinaigrette was thoroughly mixed in. Honestly, chopped salads are really the best salads. The only off-putting part of the experience was the service. I feel like we were hardly acknowledged from entry, to seating, to having our order taken and delivered. Our server certainly didn't want to be there and didn't say more than a few words to us. Ummm we have not been to any CPK FOR several years. We went to Bayshore CPK tonight and it was ok WE GOT 2 pizza. Nd two entrees three desserts. It came to $160 sans tip. I do t feel lime we ate &40+ worth of food?? It was quite a surprise. We did not have alcohol either. Is $160 the average family of four price for dinner out? Incredibly slow service. We asked for our appetizer three times! The server acted surprised each time we reminded her. Our entrees came out and we still hadn't received our appetizer. At that point we said forget it. We'll never return again. We should've walked out after waiting 15 mins just to be greeted by our server. I had never been to a California Pizza Kitchen before. My experience with CPK was with their frozen pizzas from the grocery store. They were always not-bad for grocery-store pizza, and I'm a fan of the thin crust style. But I ventured to the CPK at Bayshore because I was there and wanted something different. For a corporate chain I was pleasantly surprised. I went less than an hour before they closed, so there was no crowd to deal with. The server was doing her side work and cleaning her section amid waiting on her few customers, but she was nice. All the other employees walking by when I was there were nice and friendly also. I got a thin crust pizza by myself and took home leftovers. She helpfully boxed up what was left of my pizza also. The margherita thin crust pizza was nothing mind-blowing but it was good and satisfied a craving. I like how a lot of their pizzas have unusual flavor combinations (like the Thai chicken which is no longer that unusual thanks to grocery-store ubiquity) or more salad-like toppings on the crispy pizzas. Some may not care for the style but I like it as a change of pace sometimes. They also have pastas and entrees, some semi-healthy and some not. If I'm at Bayshore and not in the mood for a sandwich or wings, I may stop in from time to time. read more

I've been going to the Bayshore Mall location for many years due to the instability of restaurants at the mall for lunch. The food is decent, but hit or miss. Today, however, was my last visit. Over the past several years, they have had staffing issues, like most restaurants and I have continued to support the business through those issues. I've gone there with my family, staff, friends, and business clients. I have seen declining numbers a patrons and significant staff turnover. Today, I ordered the BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Bolognese Spaghetti. I had to ask for some extra ranch dressing because the salad was very dry. As my server (who was working hard) was bringing my the extra side of ranch dressing (maybe a tablespoon portion - if you've had the bread and oil, its the same dish that the oil comes in), the manager asked him, "did you charge him for that?" I then overheard another staff member say, "it's a $1.00". Seriously? $1.00 for a tablespoon of ranch for a salad that should have more than was initially applied, in my opinion! Nope. No thank you. I'm done. I've had enough bad experiences there and given too many passes over the years for this type of nickel and diming. Thank goodness that Chipotle, Culver's and Thai Boat Noodles have recently come to the area. So long CPK! read more

Not to be confused with the Piss Kitchen, which is where I usually go to do #1 in the sink. I could not like the food at CPK any less although the one caveat with this particular location is that the employees are really nice. But you need more than that if you're charging this much for pizza and if you're this popular for that matter. Barbie says it better than I can. We both have similar feelings about this place. Bae says - CPK is the worst! You know a place has gone too corporate when you can find their stuff in your grocery store freezer section. They have expanded their menu way too much, and added so many different cuisines and butchering all of them. I can't even eat anything here because everything has cheese or meat. Always heard of CPK but never been. Came to this location one night before seeing a movie with my girlfriend. Before I explain the experience, I'll be real and say I'm sure we just so happened to catch them on a very bad night. I worked in the Kitchen at Sebastian's back in Racine for a number of years when I was younger; I know what it's like to maybe have an off night every once in a while. This was the only time in my life I've ever asked for any sort of refund on a meal. I recently passed this place driving to the mall and seeing it made me laugh a little and want to write a review. For the first time being there, I thought it was a little pricey for a pizza place, but that's beside the point. Back in September, we walked into CPK. There's an actual raw pizza propped as a display(?) on the hostess desk. A little odd, but okay. We quickly noticed the alarming number of fruit flies in the restaurant and understood why there was only one other table seated on this Friday night. They made it into our drinks, food, everywhere. We got spinach and artichoke dip with what was sadly obvious to be the bottom bag of the chips. We ended up just mixing the chips into the dip and eating with forks because there weren't any chips, but just all crumbs. Flies took over the dip, so we stopped there. I forgot the pizza we ordered, but it didn't really matter anyway. The pizza dough was undercooked, and the veggies on top were raw..? My girlfriend took one bite and looked at me like she was about to cry (she is in fact a *little* dramatic sometimes). She saw me shaking my head, telling her not to eat anymore, but she felt bad because I really hungry and she was the one that wanted to go here. I asked if I could talk to the manager, who tried to explain the 1"+ stick my girlfriend pulled out of her mouth, and the many other twigs on the pizza were just dried herb stems. I told him that I know what they are but doesn't mean it's safe to eat. I would've given this a 2-star, if the manager didn't give me a hard time about just comping the pizza. About 5 minutes after sitting down, I just wanted to get out and go somewhere that wasn't that restaurant, lol. The manager seemed to cave quickly when I mentioned AND POINTED TO multiple fruit flies crawling all over pizza. I wasn't trying to make a big deal about anything else (bugs in the drinks & artichoke dip), I just wanted to leave. We did and just got pizza at the movie theater instead. It was fine! I seriously am not picky when it comes to dining. I'm convinced that place was just on a new plane of nasty that night. I'll be back one day to give it another shot and hopefully catch them on a good night. But for that night, this CPK was the worst restaurant I've ever been to, lmao. read more

Stopped into California Pizza after work to meet my family. Not extremely busy and the restaurant was practicing great Covid precautions. All of the staff that we came in contact was extremely friendly. Our waitress Brit was upbeat and available whenever we needed her. She was great with our picky eight year old as well. We ordered the Spivey Milano pizza and the Shrimp Alfredo. Everything came out hot abs delicious. The pizza had a nice heat to it as well as great flavors. The Shrimp Alfredo was creamy, flavorful, and a generous portion of shrimp. We were extremely satisfied. read more

If you like salmon, this is the place to go. I've ordered it so many times over the years and liked it so much, I decided to write a review. They roast the salmon in their hearth on a cedar plank. The Coronavirus has had me really trying to branch out and try places that I don't normally go, to spread my entertainment and food dollar around a bit more. Given that, I decided to give California Pizza Kitchen another try, as I don't think I've been there in many years. Yet all this time away has not made my heart grow fonder in any way. The problems started with the online ordering system. You can use a gift card, but the gift card has to cover the entire check, no split tenders allowed. That really brought attention to the prices of the pizzas, well over $30 for two pizzas that to be honest, were not very large. I definitely could have spent less at a local place and gotten much more. There's more: Customization is very limited; you can add sausage, just not on half. The whole pie or nothing. While the site said I could do curbside ordering, I was hesitant to do so given that I had to hand over a gift card and a credit card. My concern was that all the back and forth would result in my food getting cold, so I walked in. Points for handling the social distancing and mask situation very well! The pizzas themselves were just okay in terms of taste. The pineapple on my Hawaiian was not optimal and I felt a bit disappointed overall, given what I had paid. Leftovers did heat up well in the toaster oven a couple days later, though! read more

I hadn't been here for years and I forgot how much I love the chicken club pizza! We have been into mock tails lately and they had so many nice options. I had the strawberry mango sparkler and was so tasty and refreshing. We also ordered the avocado egg rolls which were amazing. Out who table couldn't believe how empty it was on a Saturday night because the food was amazing and drinks were great. This place is absolutely amazing! Not even 5 minutes into the dining experience and we were waited on and drinks flowed rather quickly and we placed our orders. I had roughly less than a 10minute conversation and our food and apps were already out to plate. Our waiter came around more than enough times just to make sure we were great and we were! I'd recommend this place for a fun date night or just to go with someone. In town for work and needed food delivered and I wasn't sure what was good, I've had CPK pizza before so they seemed like a safe choice. I got the Cobb salad and avocado rolls. The avocado rolls we're amazing, didn't think I would like warm avocado but it was creamy and delicious, both the dipping sauces were great and complimented the rolls well. I ordered a full Cobb salad, big mistake, it's huge and enough food for two people, it was good and fresh tasting but there was so much nasal on it the taste of everything else became over powered, it needed up tasting like I was eating a bowl of nasal. I don't know if that's what it was supposed to taste like or someone accidentally got a little heavy handed. read more

There are a number if things I really like about CPK at Bayshore. The decor/ambience are cozy and welcoming to me. It never feels crowded or loud here despite the fact it is popular with families. I like to sit at the bar. The stools are comfortable. The pizza oven is like staring into a fireplace. And the service is generally (although not always) pretty good here. The salad selection is enormous, creative, and delicious. So is the pizza selection, however that is not why I come here. I prefer other more traditional pizza places. The best thing for me has been the addition of the small plates menu. read more

3.5 Stars. It's been a while since I've dined at a California Pizza Kitchen, but I'm glad we did! My son and I were in the area and famished, and CPK really hit the spot. We started with the fabulous Mexican Street Corn appetizer. Our server was great, btw. We went with the crispy thin crust spicy Sicilian pizza for our main dish and it was great. There's much more on the menu than pizzas though, like Cedar Plank Salmon, Short Ribs mac 'n' cheese- a lot of stuff looked good! Nice to know this is in the area for a return trip. read more

Carne Assad's steak pizza is back this month! They serve it with a bitter salad verde vs the old chimichurri and salsa combo. It's not as good as it used to be but still a great menu choice. Although Pizza used to be the main focus, CPK has expanded their menu over the years to include more pasta dishes, soups, salads and main courses of fish, chicken and steak. This location in Bayshore Mall is fantastic. It's right near the parking garage and easy access to all the shops. The restaurant is pretty spacious and even has outdoor seating available. Every time I've visited I've been treated well by attentive staff. It's always very clean inside and the food tastes great. I'd highly recommend this location to anyone. read more

First time experience at a California Pizza Chicken. Extremely nice service and we were very quickly seated, even with a party of 8. Strawberry Lime Margarita was sweet and tasty, but a little too salty for me personally. The Chicken Piccata was very filling and the chicken was cooked great. However, the pasta felt a little bit too sour. The place was very clean and quiet with good but not overwhelming lighting. Overall, a very enjoyable first experience! read more

This place is a guilty pleasure for me, as they recently closed the one by my mother's house in MN. I love their pizza :) I started with a giant Stella, and ended with the asian plum martini. Martini was extremely sweet, but if you like that sort of thing, it was delicious. I started with the hummus and it was really good too. I love warm pita bread. For pizzas we got the California Club and the Pear and Gorgonzola. I always go for the Five Cheese and Fresh Tomato, which is just absolutely fantastic. Nice blend of cheese and the fresh julienned basil really tops it off. I liked the pear and gorgonzola almost as much - the arugula on top was a nice touch. I thought the Club had a few too many cold ingredients on the top, but it was pretty good as well. I really like Andi the bartender, she takes care of us. The best part of this place may be the bathroom - it has a shelf for purses in the stall! What a nice cheap addition that makes all the difference. read more

Am I lame for going to a CPK in Wisconsin when I was visiting from California. My contention is that I was not, there were not that many options around here and CPK is pretty good. I like their food, the pizza is pretty light and tasty. I like the way this place is set up with the lighting and granite counters. The folks working here were pretty laid back and efficient without being fake nice. Decently stocked bar as well including beer on tap. I like their med appetizer as well. Although cpk is trying to offer healthy meals such as their "lighter" options and half size portions I still wonder how many calories I'm actually consuming. Even their salads have been known to have over 1,000 calories! Their pizzas are just about worth all the calories tho. Pretty delicious and so many options. Their salads are ok. The one I ordered today with Salmon didn't totally deliver. I don't know why I paid $4.50 for 8 little squares of dry salmon :( My half salad didn't seem worth $12 either. The fresh pizza was definitely better than the frozen ones but no where near excellent. Yes, it's a chain, one of the chainy-est ones out there. You can buy their pizzas at Pick n Save right next to the horrifying "appetizers" from TGIFridays. But the thing is, the pizzas are actually good. They have a wood burning oven so the crust is a nice mix of chewy & crunchy. I can't speak for the other menu items because, well, it's a PIZZA kitchen so that's what I order. Worst experience ever. We waited over a half hour for our food before deciding to go somewhere else. We had only ordered salads and sandwiches. The manager came by and said our food was on its way. We refused it, already having to decided to leave. He said everything was slow because of Covid. Also that they were short staffed because of Covid.
