Previous to this- about 5 months before they had already repaired the sensor. Of course they told me it is another issue (not the same repair). Their diagnostic fee is very expensive as well at $225 just to take 5 minutes to plug in a machine to see the codes to what is wrong. I took my car to get a second opinion and they were able to repair my car for $800 less!!! Also they noted the work done on my sensor was not done well by Silver Lake so they had to repair it as well. I'd recommend finding a local auto repair show instead. They are more trustworthy and fair in pricing.

Earlier…read morethis week, I brought in my Honda Accord LX for a preventative maintenance check because I was recently offered an electrician helper job that will have me traveling all over southeast Wisconsin. I needed to make sure my car was reliable. To my surprise, they discovered my catalytic converter was missing and replaced with just a metal tube. I also needed a nearby frame section replaced because it was damaged and causing a leak. Today, I completely forgot to drop the car off in the morning like we originally planned. I called them around 1:30 PM to explain the situation, and Tim -- truly a miracle worker -- still told me to bring it in. They got the catalytic converter installed and the issue resolved, and I had my car back by around 3 PM the same day. I even offered to pay extra on top of the initial estimate since it was my fault for missing the appointment, but Tim refused and said he was just happy to help me out on this, especially because I just landed a job as an electrician helper. That kind of honesty and customer care is rare. I definitely recommend Affordable Car Care. They go above and beyond.

The first time, I had a coolant leak and the mechanic actually SHOWED me where it was leaking. Actually seeing the problem with my own eyes when the car was on the lift immediately made me feel that they can be trusted. They fixed that problem, did some other overdue maintenance work, and the car's been running much better now, zero problems. The only minor problem I had was that I asked for the parts to be returned to me, and they weren't. That really wasn't a big deal since my driveway isn't full of coolant spots any more. I thought the price for this repair was entirely fair. The second time was a problem that couldn't be duplicated when I was driving it while the tech was in the car with me. Ah well... They didn't charge me for that visit. The most recent visit was exceptional. I managed to get the end of a gas funnel stuck in the neck of my gas tank. This caused all kinds of problems when I'd fill up with gas at Kwik Trip. I tried to fish it out myself, but couldn't. I brought it to the dealership, and they told me they couldn't see it or get it out after allegedly scoping it out. The dealership charged me for that visit. I know they have bills to pay, so I was OK with that. On a whim, I brought it to the new Meineke (formerly Pope Autoworx). I told them what happened and that I wanted them to try to get it out, but I'd pay for an hour of time, no matter what. I told them that I wanted to save the part so I could see it. Well... THEY GOT IT OUT!!!!! The dedication, time and effort that they showed me in actually FIXING this problem impressed the hell out of me. I do my own oil changes and brake jobs, but for nearly everything else, this Meineke garage will be my first call.

Multiple customers to the gas station came in to get food/drinks and I had to awkwardly get out of their way while I waited. They were also running behind so they couldn't get to my car for at least 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. They did a good job on the car and had a detailed report plus the oil change for a very fair price but honestly I'll probably go somewhere else next time cause its just less convenient when they don't have an adequate waiting room for people getting something quick done.

Google search found me Discount Tires on Bluemound, close to me. No appt., I just walked in, and they got me right in. Explained my tires were nearing their 10 year lifespan (who knew? i didn't realize this was a thing), and the tread was starting to separate on my left front tire. Yikes. So I went ahead and sprung for 2 new front tires. I wasn't happy at all about this surprise expenditure, but it was better than a blowout at 60 mph on 94, thank you Jesus! Jumped back in the car, and before I was even out of the parking lot, that weird sound was STILL THERE! What the heck? ‍ Went back in, had them check again; it was actually my left REAR tire, which had a huge BOLT wedged into it (THANKS A LOT, Waukesha construction zones)! Why this wasn't seen earlier at DT, I don't know, but it is what it is. The hole was too large for a patch, so they gave me a 'gently used' closely matching tire. AT NO CHARGE. As a woman who knows little to nothing about vehicles, so is at the mercy of those who DO know about such things, I almost cried. THESE are the kind of places - and people - that we need more of because they are so desperately needed. People are tired of being scammed. The front of the DT shop was clean and tidy, the guys in the back of the shop were highly efficient (and even that part of the shop was very tidy as well). I never met Bruce Halle, DT's founder, but his amazing business model and values lives on in his employees! I know where I WILL be going when it's time to replace my 2 rear tires!
