I was greeted as I walked in which is always nice. My star recommendation is some what a personal thing as to most the would probably be a 4-5 star review! I ordered the he classic breakfast which was 2 eggs, bacon&sausage(conn) toast and a side. I chose regular grits this time around. I also asked for an extra egg as several other options on the menu offered 3 eggs. However what was somewhat off putting was telling me that they had two sell me 2 eggs as they could do just one? No recommendation to fix this as I wouldn't have to pay several extra bucks. Top it off the eggs aren't even real eggs, liquid eggs! I also ordered a cinnamon roll. I passed on the famous conn sausage and she gave me more bacon! This bacon is to die for! Crispy not overly fatty! Great bacon!!! Now when my plate arrived my toast wasn't like usual a few piece of sliced bread. One big toast, like you make French toast with! Big thick thing. Toasted only on one side! Ok you ran out of regular bread? Trying a new bread out or something ok got it. But toast is supposed to be toasted only both sides, just saying. No biggie. My grits however ordered plan came with cheese! I really don't like cheese in my grits. I like butter n salt, simple n plan lol. They were pretty decent and seasoned some how but not what I had asked for! I admit the were tasty but not what I was wanting and savoring for. I ate it anyhow like I said it was tasty. The eggs was this glop thing with some seasoning on it beyond salt n pepper. I don't mind liquid eggs but was hoping for real eggs this is my bad and I'm not ding them on this, I just couldn't remember if they were real or liquid here. And with the charging me for 2 when they have several dishes with a 3 egg option seems weird and in my opinion unfair. This was my biggest conundrum and what lead me to 3 stars today to include the wrong grits served. They staff was great and friendly. No I didn't bring any issue to the staff especially when it was so slow this mid morning, only two people other than me. The lady's came around and asked how ever one was a few times and if she could help with anything or get anything. This review is from a silent point of view! I just wanted to order and see how service would be uninterrupted! I was pleased over all and will be back. I hope this review helps as it is truely a hidden gem contrary to the only 3 stars I just gave. I am almost 100 sure that if I had even mentioned anything the staff may have taken care of it other than the egg order debacle. read more

Definitely will be back the next time I'm in town! This place was so good and so affordable. Our server was amazing and there was no wait time for a pre Mother's Day breakfast. I ordered two cakes for Christmas, a Red Velvet and a Chocolate. They were so delicious and moist! Everyone loved them, so I will definitely be back. Upon pickup, the owner's mother was on site waiting for me. ( I was a little late) But, she was extremely sweet and helpful as she assisted me in loading them in my car. We also had some cinnamon rolls included in the order and they were huge and wonderful too! read more

Just walked out of Grit and Grind after waiting almost 40 minutes just to get a table. They had 5 empty tables. We asked why we couldn't be seated at the table for 6 (we had 6 people) and were told "They didn't want to overwork the servers." A table of 6 were already seated when we walked in and when we were leaving they were just having their order taken. Another lady was paying when we got there and she got her iced coffee right before we left. So, approximately 30-40 minutes for anything. Such a shame because the food is good, too bad the management isn't. read more

I'm big in supporting small local businesses and Grit & Grind has really good food when they actually have the food that is on the menu. My absolute favorite is the chicken Mac bowl. I think they just changed the name of it recently to something else but when they have no macaroni I'm out of luck. The worst part is that you can't even call in a take out order. If you call you get an automated thing that will send you a link for take out and doesn't work well, not to mention takes ten times longer than if a person had actually answered and taken the order. I understand that they are busy, usually we eat in but sometimes things happen and people need to grab and go. I also tried to get a gift card/certificate to go in a card for a friend...they only digital ones they send to an email. It's really a shame because I used to love this place! read more

The food was OK. I had the flap Jack's. What they consider breakfast sausage links isn't actually a traditional breakfast sausage. It's a polish sausage called Kielbasa. I would've given it 3 stars, but their coffee's need improved. It tasted like it was made made from a mix and not fresh. The safe is friendly and helpful. read more

The cook even came out to greet us when it slowed down enough he could do so. Ambiance was delightful. Shop is very well taken care of. Restaurant's management prioritizes server seating based on a rigid order rather than accommodating guest requests. This approach seems to overlook the customer experience and may need reconsideration for better service. I invited my family to a Sunday breakfast here in hopes of sitting with my wifes and my favorite server because I knew it would guarantee great service. We were informed by the host, Management said we could not have a table with our requested server because she wasn't the next server in line to be seated, even though that server was requested by us. We were informed that if we wanted that specific server, 2 more parties would have to arrive since our server was 3rd on their list. Our party was the only one there, and no other guests were in the building waiting to be sat for the 20-30 minutes we waiting.. because no one else walked in. We took our Party of 6 to another local business, 431 Cafe, who I knew would serve our family well. read more
