    Fried Green Tomato Stack
    Joshua L.

Upon entering this ford avenue establishment one is greeted by the hostess accompanied by the rustic charm of a cozy country home adorning the walls. In addition, to the classy presentation in the front entry way there are two to three dinning areas in the restaurant. One is the bar to the far right. Another is the slim corridor in the middle of the space which employs a smart looking wood finished floor. The third is a square room with a fireplace under a taxidermy elk. I thought the decor was classy, rustic, and thoughtful. Albeit a little dark and they did not do enough not to remind guests that they are dinning at the old Beijing house. I could still see touches of the old Beijing house which made me sad about its closing. Service: I thought the service was a little lacking especially on the front end of my experience. It took the server a while to greet me and even longer to bring out my drink. I wanted to order the soup of the day and a fried green tomato appetizer. But I was interrupted in between ordering the two dishes to be told they ran out of the French onion soup. The server also did not pre-bus well and left my empty glass on the table when she brought me a new sweet tea. The service improved toward the end of the meal when my server became more accommodating and offered things like a to go box and dessert. She even offered me a Togo drink which I found more than hospital. Food: The food was pretty good and I have to say executed well. The Fried Green tomatoes were good but a little pricey for the portion size. The Redfish and grits were cooked excellently. Definitely homemade grits and the fish was definitely seasoned Cajun style. Personally I found my particular filet a little fishy earnest the bloodline. The food was good but nothing to write home about. Overall: This is a nice classy restaurant and I like that they are open during lunch hours. If you like the classic feel of an old southern homestead you'll like this place. For me I thought the food and service could have been a little better. It's fairly good, but did not blow me away.

Amazing food! We had: - Fields of Berries cocktail (good) - Rock candy old fashioned (good) - Southern fried schnitzel (great) - Slow braised short ribs (great) - Banana pudding cheesecake (great) We liked the atmosphere and service, too. The whole experience was fantastic.

Espresso Martini & Chocolate Godiva Cake

Espresso martini was made perfectly, nice light foam on top. The chocolate Godiva cake was moist and mousse was on point! We also tied the bread basket with the honey lavender butter and ughhhh, the warm biscuits paired with the butter was lovely! The menu includes a recipe for the biscuits, definitely need to snap a picture next time! My husband loved the Banana pudding cheesecake and peach margarita!

Ordered short ribs, got a pot roast.

Place looked cool, couple folks told us about it so we figured we'd check it out. We were told 15 minute wait so we sat at the bar. No drinks.... We were sat at the table, asked for drinks in a reasonable amount of time, however the wait for the drinks was way too long. After we received the drinks, no follow up. And when there was, she didn't ask if we wanted another drink. Ambiance was decent, they turned the music on an hour before they closed. So, back to the food... three short rib orders and a hamburger. Hamburger was asked to be pink, no pink! Short rib, we're actually chuck roast, not short ribs. Food was good. Dessert was, ok. Hummingbird cake... A lot of potential here, need to make some adjustments and you'll get there.

My bartender had no idea how to make a drink. I think he was trying to get me drunk. Straight liquor.

Food was great, service too. Had fish and grits. Went at 5:30 on Friday, wasn't overly crowded, pleasant atmosphere.

Still the best ribs and slaw I have ever eaten. If I lived near here, I would eat here a few times…read morea month. I also really like the ice tea. I mix sweet and unsweetened until I get the perfect taste. There is no better BBQ anywhere else in the world.

I loved the ribs, they really were fall off the bone and flavorful without the sauce (even though…read morethat sauce is delicious!). I was hankering for some ribs and this place had great reviews and it was only 5 mins from where I was pet sitting. I waited till 5p, bc I wanted to go at 3p but figured I might get leftovers from lunch. I got ribs w/2 sides which were baked beans and green beans& then an extra side of mac&cheese. Well just as I had feared, that mac had to have been made earlier in the day bc it was not fresh and cheesy. Most ppl can tell when mac&cheese has been sitting there for a long time. I thought since it was 5p they would have put a new pan out. The green beans were good (basically tasted like they came right from the can with a couple of spices). The baked beans were really good! I enjoyed them immensely! The ribs like I said were tender, juicy and a good portion. The banana pudding I got tasted fresh and DELICIOUS!! It taste's like how I make mine. Overall it was a really good experience. The lady that took my order & the one that brought it out to me were very friendly. I didn't catch their names. I just got a to go order. Definitely go for the ribs, the baked beans, the sauce & the banana pudding. The mac&cheese? You might need to ask them when it was made bc this was not made just a couple hrs ago. Look at this picture and tell me that was baked within the last 3 hrs.
