We originally stopped here because my google search for a restaurant that served fried trout and this is the one that popped up. We were disappointed to learn that they no longer serve trout. We sat in the enclosed patio so that our dog could join us. It could have been a bit cleaner with the sweeping of the floor and wiping tables and chairs. No water was offered for our dog. I ordered the "Mother Cluckin Chicken sandwich" which was very tasty. It was made with fried chicken tenders, pimento cheese, hot honey, collard greens. My side was onion rings, which were perfectly cooked. My husband had the chicken and dumplings with Mac and cheese, green beans, fried okra, big biscuit and peach cobbler. It was just okay. We probably wouldn't return because it just wasn't our type of food that we enjoy. read more

We had the wings. They were delicious. This restaurant offers both dry and wet wings. Our server was great. Greeted us as soon as we sat down. The drinks arrived promptly; and the food was out within 10 minutes. The furnishings are hand poured, original furniture. Beautiful. read more

This place has earned a faithful following. We walked in with a couple who's been eating Sunday lunch there for years - and they drive at least 30 mins to get there. We were hoping for breakfast but since it was almost 11, we were given a lunch menu. Then we were happy to see a "All Day Breakfast" option on the menu. Nice. Nothing amazing about 3 eggs, bacon, grits and toast - but we noticed all the happy diners emerging from the impressive lunch buffet. We're very tempted to come back and do lunch again soon! read more

My boyfriend and I wanted breakfast Sunday morning however our normal place, Hole in the Wall, was closed. We decided to try out Grits & Greens, just missing the cutoff for breakfast menu. We perused the lunch menu and found the all day breakfast plate. I ordered that with scrambled eggs and my boyfriend decided on the fried green tomato BLT. It was quite busy so the food took a minute to come out, during which time I was able to look around the restaurant and watch the other food go by. The trays coming off the cafeteria line looked like your typical southern fare, but it looked yummy. The severs didn't seem too happy about being there, which I get having worked in the server role before, but at least they could try to mask it a little? Our food came out and was immediately disappointing as my eggs weren't the scrambled I asked for but over medium. I didn't send it back because I know how that goes....the rest of your food gets cold as they reprepare your eggs. The grits were also not good at all but I'm from Charleston and we take grits seriously down there. Lol. My boyfriends BLT looked amazing and tasted great too, my only complaint being that the fried green tomato should have been half the thickness and cooked slightly more, as the breading was still doughy in spots. Yuck. Also, the water tasted like a dirty towel. Both of ours, so I highly don't recommend that. I'm not sure if we just hit a fluke day or if this is standard service here. I'd probably have to try again to make a firm decision. read more

A friend told me that Grits and Greens had amazing hamburgers, so I decided to give them a try. This place is certainly nothing fancy and the service is a little nonchalant, but I have to say that they served the most wonderful hamburger that I've had in a while! The smokehouse burger is a big, meaty patty, perfectly cooked, topped with cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, and onion rings on a brioche bun. The onion rings are really very good, crispy and not greasy. I don't know what brand of barbecue sauce they used, but it was delicious. Everything in this burger just came together perfectly. The french fries I had on the side were also very good. everything was reasonably priced. I definitely plan to come back and try a few other items on the menu. read more

Ordered lunch via Door Dash today from Grits and Greens. Incredibly disappointed! I ordered a Philly cheese steak which looked like Alpo on a bun with melted cheese - so salty it was inedible. Coleslaw tasted like it was spoiled and my cobbler ($3.50) was swapped out for a 1"x2" piece of dry cake. I called and was told I could come in and they'd give me a gift card but no refund. Why would I ever want to eat there again? I had hoped to support a local business but I guess it's back to the fast food chains where there are some quality standards. read more

As usual, the service and food was exceptional! Their country -cooking is the closest to my Mother's cooking that I've ever had. The fried chicken is the best in town. The chicken and dumplings is a close second. (Only problem is they only serve it on Thursdays.) read more

Since the renaming and opening as Grits and Greens with new staff I have have several meals both lunch and dinner. Everything has been great the chicken and dumplings at lunch on Thursday will be a do over for sure. At dinner on one trip I had the fresh fried shrimp and it was wonderful. They are doing a great job and glad to see the vast improvement over the previous restaurant. For good home style food this is a must try. read more

Formally known as the Blairsville restaurant which was about a one star in my opinion. Now a little cleaner then the old restaurant, however the food lacks much to be desired. Unimaginative menu, and no atmosphere. Had the meatloaf off the Buffet, Very bland meatloaf with a little bit of what seem like canned tomato sauce on the top of it. Everything just substandard in my mind. But with all the good restaurants around this one, Grits and Greens shouldn't be on your list. read more

Decided to give this a try. The photoshopped pictures on their website fooled me. Shame on me...never again.
