This is a southern home cooked restaurant. It was really good. We were on our way back to Atlanta and needed to get a bite before heading back on the road. Decided to stop by here and eat. It's very clean, and big. The staff was extremely friendly. The menu is limited on Sunday's. This place is like a Cracker Barrel. They have a store inside where you can buy canned items like pickles and etc, dishware, or just Knick knacks. They sell bird houses and water wells too!! If we are in Mccaysville again we will definitely be stopping by. read more

We stopped by on a whim, as the train was in town on July 8th. The restaurant was empty and the little store is sparse. We ordered grilled trout with hush puppies and onion rings and onions and tomatoes , fried catfish with fried yellow squash and french fries, chicken tenders mac n cheese and fried squash, chicken fried steak with onion rings and mac n cheese, pulled pork sandwich french fries, 1/2 pound hamburger with tater tots, grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The wait was a bit long. We noticed locals all sat on the others side of the restaurant as they came in. The food was fair, many frozen items like fries and onion rings. The best meal was the grilled trout, it was very good. We also really liked the fried squash. The other was just ok, typical quick and easy not seasoned real well. The restaurant was pretty clean and one of the waitress was wearing scrubs which was also unusual. Overall just an average place with average food. I enjoyed the food here. I orederd the smothered steak, master potatoes and gravy, green beans and it came with banana pudding. I was surprised that it was seasoned good. Cute, Country and Polite. Everyone was so friendly. The food was delicious. Exactly what you would expect from a local, hometown, family owned, country restaurant on the side of a highway. Charming and laid bad. The place was packed, but we had no wait beside there is plenty of seating, and the little store had plenty to choose firm. Similar to a Cracker Barrel, but much better. This is my second time here. Our church group tubes the Taccoa River and stop here for dinner. We had about 50 in our group. The family style option is the best choice. So much good home cooking. They have corn bread, biscuits, fried chicken, green beans, real mashed potato's, Mac and cheese, fried okra, chicken fried steak, gravy and it was all amazing. They also have amazing desserts. The staff is so friendly. They treat you like family. The waitress's Mom is the cook and she came out and gave us a hug. If I lived in the area I would eat here frequently. Decided to try this place while vacationing in Blue Ridge, GA to get some country cookin. The restaurant is very casual has a nice little store when you enter. The food was just ok. I had the country fried steak and mashed potatoes with Black eyed peas. I would have to say the that their biscuits, corn bread and hush puppies weren't that good and were very dry. Overall it was an ok experience. You should be aware that there are several mason jars and other items on display in the restaurant (some with price tags on them) but they are NOT for sale. read more

I've eaten here a few times and it's always good! It's just good ole southern cooking from fresh produce and local trout and meats. It's priced very cheap for the amount and what you get! I always order trout both grilled and fried. The servers are always sweet and fast to get you anything you please that's available. The restaurant is family owned and you will see family pictures on the wall. There is a small shop at the front with local crafts, Patsy's canned goods and many more things. I find it very clean and everything I look for in local flavor! Look at the daily specials too! read more

We came here after a whitewater rafting trip with Quest Expeditions hoping for an authentic country dinner. Iced tea was pretty good, but the country fried chicken was room temperature and the mashed potatoes were flavorless. The green beans were ok but could not eat he cornbread which tasted and felt like it was made yesterday. About the only thing which was ok was the fried mozzarella sticks which did not come with marinara sauce but it was the best thing we were able to eat. read more

Pretty close by the train station. Got us back on time with no problems either. So I gave it 5 stars because 1. The food was exceptional. A true home cooked meal versus the typical restaurant taste. Way better than we expected. Fried pickles are worth it along with the corn bread. Tea is on point and the fried chicken was among the best I have had in quite some time. Been going for about 15 years. Last time I went it was AWFUL- we couldn't even eat most of it. There were 6 of us and every meal was barely edible. Service was terrible too. Well, where do I begin? We were starving, driving home from a wedding and decided to stop here on Easter Sunday. We chose the family style deal (16.99/person) and ordered some traditional southern sides. Omg was it HORRIBLE! Literally served us noodles and water (the owner called it "bland" but it was far from just needing salt). Joan & I stopped by for lunch today to see how good their food really was. We are bringing about 20 ladies who are portraying Mary Lincoln when we have our 25th annual conference at the Amicalola Lodge in April. We will be taking the train ride from Blue Ridge to McCaysville and the Mary's will be having their lunch here whilst the ABE's go to various places in McCaysville to eat. We tried their catfish along with 2 vegetables and were very pleased. Their desserts were wonderful also. Sharon took good care of all of our needs and was very attentive. Do not go to Pats while here in Blue Ridge. There are far too many wonderful places to eat... Most of the reviews I am reading on here are surprisingly recent. Three years ago I would've given Pat's a five star review if you wanted to eat a good country meal! I've been traveling at least every year to Blue Ridge for my entire life (30years). Every year I look forward to a meal at Pats. Last year I brought about ten people into Pats and the meal was okay. I thought maybe they had a bad night (we all do, after all). But after tonight's meal I can say confidently I will not be revisiting Pats in the future. All three of us ordered the country fried steak. Each of us order different sides. All of the sides looked AND tasted like they came out of a can with the exception of the creamed corn. The steak was not crispy and was over salted. Overall, the meal was 1/2 star AT BEST. The worst part of the experience this evening was when our server (who was very sweet and attentive) brought three desserts out to the table. Unfortunately, the server did not put our order in right and my family member received the wrong dessert. The server sweetly said "Oh, my mistake, I apologize, just keep the apple cobbler and I'll bring out the banana pudding you ordered." We said that wasn't necessary but she insisted. Two minutes later she came out with the correct dessert (banana pudding) and said "He (referring to the cook in the back I am assuming) wants it back." She took the dessert BACK TO THE KITCHEN after it had been on our table unattended. Disgusting. This is 'restaurant 101', Pat. Unacceptable and unsanitary. Overall, tonight Pat lost over 20 patrons from my family alone. Let alone the people who I will discourage from going to Pats when they ask for good places to eat in Blue Ridge. On a personal note, Pats has always been a special part of my visits to Blue Ridge. I looked forward to a good meal that felt home cooked and heart felt. Went here during the layover on a train ride. The place was nice & clean. The service was horrible. The food was just okay. We only had 2 hours to eat & get back on the train. To be fair, they did have a large party in that day so maybe that was the problem. Whatever the reason, once was enough. Because we ate here & it took so long to get the food, we spent the whole 2 hours on that. No time to look at anything in town. Waited outside about 15 mins for the shuttle to take us back to the train. Went back inside to ask about a driver & he was just sitting there.... We've been coming to Pat's for years when we stay at our family cabin nearby. We've always had friendly, welcoming service- it's like eating at grandma's house(one that can cook!). We ate there twice this weekend (carry out only) and I was beyond impressed by the steps they have taken to keep their customers and employees safe during this time (pickup window outside, wiping down surfaces, employees changing our gloves,etc). Our food was delicious and it was even better knowing that it was prepared safely and with care. A great spot for a home cooked meal! read more

At first we were worried since the parking lot was empty but this is a family business, and we said we'd give it a shot. The food is cooked from scratch and the portions are adequate. The service is slightly lacking, but the people are polite. It's clear the entire place is run by one single family. If you don't like the feel of a small family restaurant and employees that aren't "trained to the T" find somewhere else. Having said that, we ate dinner one night and breakfast the next after fishing the Toccoa and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. As a side note, the yelp address for the restaurant is not correct.
