Great stores! Though limited selection in different areas, they offer different yet interesting foods and wines! My husband goes in and selects a few red wines. One bottle of this, one of that. He did find a red one that he said was his "new favorite" but never went back for more. I went into the Waterloo Rd near Wilson way one and "Jesus" was able to order for me 10 cases of Mystified wine !! I wrapped one case for Christmas one year and said more in the garage! We bring a bottle or two to gatherings. And my husband enjoys a glass or two at happy hour outside!! Jesus also will dolly the cases to my vehicle!! We are set for quite sometime wine wise for him. Every person he has shared with loves the wine as well. Only $4/ bottle! read more

It is well known I am a fan of Grocery Outlets. When I noticed that Bishop had one, I had to go. Nice wide aisles and lots of room. A wide range of products, food and otherwise. Can't beat the prices and it's always fun to see what items other grocery outlets carry. read more

This was my first time coming to the Bishop location. I had always been envious of the vegan finds my friend gets here compared to what I'm able to find in Fremont. She picked up two different types of Abe's pastries and lots of plant based cheeses! Since I didn't have a cooler to take the refrigerated items back with me to the Bay, I just stuck to snacks. Found Chili Lime Jackgruit, a variety of high protein vegan-friendly chips, soy jerkey for $3 (which I just saw at another special store for $6!!). There is also a great selection of dairy alternatives and kombucha. All the while, there are giant windows in this shop showcasing the mountains that sit just outside in the distance. I wish the owner is more friendly in her approach to customers considering this is a small town. During these "paranoid times" following guidelines are one thing but acting like the Gestapo is another. If safety is such a big concern then 1. provide sanitizing agents for the shopping carts 2. stop letting pets enter a food sales establishment 3. provide a handwashing station if you plan on closing public restrooms I would have addressed these issues with the owner herself if she was willing to have a two way conversation. Love this place to finish supplying for backpacking trip. They have shelf-stable bacon aplenty. Staff helped me find it so attentiveness not limited to serving the locals. Most produce sold in bags probably due to covid. All customers were masked as well as staff. Kudos to eastern Sierra residents for their courtesy. Very clean place with good variety. Bishop Store. Looking for lg pack of blueberries. A few minutes after asking a produce employee to see if they'd gotten in large packs of berries, A tall, unknown man walked my way and stood in front of me glaring at me. I had no idea who this man was-no name tag or apron. After an uneasy 10 seconds, I looked up and said to him "what ?". He said "you need blueberries?" and I had to repeat my original question. I later learned ( he told me) that he was a "Supervisor", when several weeks later I was standing first in line-my mind was wandering; my ears open for a loud "next person on 1" and for some reason my mind was expecting a loudspeaker voice. ( I don't know why !). Checker# 1, a fairly new man with a very soft voice called me to his register, but I could barely hear him. I smiled & placed my purchase down on the counter, and jokingly said I'm "sorry" but I was expecting a louder voice-like over an intercom, etc; told him I was daydreaming, etc, etc. Well, 3 registers over stood "Mr no-name-tag" "Supervisor" whose name I later found out was "LOUIS", was standing, talking to someone else, looks up and began to cuss me out, telling me that "EVERY TIME" I'm in the store, I'm ALWAYS rude, and he's gonna "F-ing" throw me out of the store, etc etc. I replied "excuse me, but I'm speaking to my cashier". Needless to say, I was thoroughly humiliated & embarrassed. I attempted to defend myself by saying "excuse me-but I'm not a rude person, etc." but it only made him angrier. Again, he wore no name tag. I simply shut my mouth, paid, & left the store. I was mortified. I don't know what he THOUGHT he heard me say, but I suspect he thought I was harassing the checker who seemed to have a disability & was very soft spoken. I do NOT, nor would I EVER mock or make fun of or trouble for a disabled person. I immediately went home & typed an Email complaint on the given form in the Grocery Outlet website. This "manager" def has a chip in his shoulder. I worked the register at Kmart a few years ago, and if one of us EVER raised our voices like that using profanity, we'd be instantly let go. read more

There are many hardworking people here but unfortunately there is also the manager Louis, who is disrespectful to customers and also the company itself. I started shiopping here recently, spending over $600 in the last month. I was told by two different, very friendly managers that I could return something if I didn't like it or it was bad. Now enter disgruntle Louis, I returned 20-25$ worth of items that were bad and moldy. No apology from him but instead telling me I need to make sure to check the dates on items. I then showed him the dates on the items and how they were set to expire one month from now. He said nothing. I was so annoyed by his childish behavior that I called to get his name. He said, oh you're the one that keeps returning items. Again, childish, moronic and myopic as he is not understanding the dynamic of his company which the other two managers of course did. Also, alienating customers doesn't serve anyone especially the company that is paying this person. When I told him I was filing a complaint he encouraged me to. Again, this cocky, childish behavior is not what managers are made of. Best to go to grocery outlet in mammoth until this person is gone. read more

Went to store with coupons that were emailed to me. Couldn't find some some items listed for sale at the store. Staff told me they don't carry those items. What's the point of emailing items on sale if they don't carry the item? read more

Another deceitful grocery store in Bishop. Grocery Outlet joins Vons in pretending that their prices are half the cost of other grocery stores. What a con. Maybe, the regular prices they're comparing their prices to are in frontier outposts in rural Alaska, or convenience stores in Hawaii. Grocery Outlet inflates savings to the point it's insulting. I mean come on...Dave's Organic Bread only $4.99, normally $6.50, seriously...and the loaf is out of date by 4 days! Amy's small Frozen spinach pizza for $5.99, normal price $7.50. Really. Blueberries $4.99 for 18 oz, normally $7.50! Like who would buy bulk blueberries for that price. I bought $50.00 worth of food and supposedly saved $70.00! The same food at Smart and Final would cost $50.00 and I don't get cashiers telling me I saved a bundle. That said, the same food at Vons would have set me back $60.00 and the cashier would have told me I saved $30.00...as if I had hit the jackpot. Ugg. I'd call this false advertising and I makes me feel dirty to buy from a store that uses such practices. This is a one star grocery, but I added a star because of helpful stockers working the floor, and one more star for the friendly checkers! Good job checkers! read more

I am updating my review Unfortunately Dennis who was the manager is no longer working here, I noticed it the minute I went shopping. There are some other great employees that worked there but I have not seen them working there in quite awhile The existing employees treat the customers like they do at the Grocery Outlet in Mammoth Lakes; like your not even there, they look like they are always pissed off Their wine selection is going down hill fast, I have returned multiple wines and have thrown out wines that I opened and tried but were horrible I stopped buying produce too it is always rotten Very unfortunate as this was a great store to shop at and the employees were so friendly read more

What is so difficult about being polite? The female checker appeared annoyed to ring up my ice and other goodies. The store was nearly empty and she felt compelled to tell me where to stand in line, when there was no line. Quit your job, you're u make your employer look bad. read more

Grocery Outlet always exceeds my expectations with customer service. During this difficult time with Covid, it has been so comforting knowing that they will deliver to my home. There is no charge and the manager is so gracious in reassuring me that it is her pleasure! The prices are much more reduced compared to the other grocery stores in Bishop. I feel so grateful that Grocery Outlet has found its way to our area! I am a senior on a fixed budget and save a lot shopping here. Also, Grocery Outlet is a fun place to shop! This market was a welcome addition to Bishop. GO does not have everything, but they do have most items with excellent prices. I have always found the staff friendly and professional. GO is my first stop when shopping for groceries. read more

Terrible customer service , I got a mouth from an employee and the owner full for pulling my shopping cart early to the line even though i had mask and was social distancing . I give it 4 stars for their opening day. If you're going to open a new business do it right. Huge grand opening this morning...I saw the crowd and decided to go later. I thought the place is organized, clean and neat and the staff were very pleasant and Smiled! More than you can say for our other large markets! Most of what I went for was significantly lower in price from our other stores and the expiration dates were quite long. They had quite a few organic selections and vitamins and health food products. The one thing I did notice is that many of the items are in with unlike items which was a bit strange such as chain locks with the peanuts oh well. I didn't stay a long time but will shop there again next time. Check it out! read more

I have no problem with the store it's self. The prices are good and I usually find what I need. However today my problem was with the cashier. Her name was Rachel, and she was the least customer oriented person I have ever met. She stood there blowing bubbles and popping them as she checked people out. Didn't say hello, didn't say have a nice day, couldn't count change back even though the cash register tells her how much to give them. It was an inconvenience for anyone to go through her line. We were taking up her time. If she's going to work there, they should put her in the back somewhere because she does not represent them well read more

Ok I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised to have another grocery source in town. They do fit a different niche than other grocery stores we already have, which is great. I would suggest going to shop here with an open mind. You could shop it like a regular grocery store, but the gems are being open to what the finds of the day are. When you find something you like, stock up as it's usually at a great price. Don't expect to find it on your next visit. It's nice to have a different selection than at the other stores in town. A nice organic and natural selection. There are brands and offerings that you won't find at the other grocery stores in town. The key here is, don't go in expecting to find exactly that item or brand you want. Keep an open mind and you will find some great bargains and new things you can't get elsewhere in town. Not everything is cheaper, but certainly nothing is more expensive than other stores. And some things are a real bargain. The staff seem friendly and they get you checked out quickly which is really appreciated. Other than on some days they play some really dreadful and inappropriate horrible music (guessing when the bosses aren't there), I give this place two thumbs up. It's a nice addition to town.
