Not the best place to shop anyway: good prices on some wines, but otherwise, too hit or miss for other things, especially produce. Even if the goods *were* consistently good, the staff has gotten progressively weirder over the past several years. Florence can be a bit too post-high-school small town, but this store had decent employees until a year or so ago. Then there was the young very rude male who snarled my order through the checkout 1st time he was there and the crabby older woman who told me everyone *loved* him - until another long term employee said, Nope, several other complaints. I guess the young man got a talking to, because he at least acted like a grown up person working in a business after that. But then the two other long term employees started weirding out: the older man started making very inappropriate "funny" (not funny) comments while checking my items through, and the other long term employee started squeezing carts through corner aisles when I happened to be in those places. 1st time, maybe just chance, but 2nd time, in opposite corner, both times coming from across the store: nope. People should be able to just buy groceries and pay for them, without having to deal with whatever bigotries or bad days the employees are having. read more

I can't say enough great things about the new remodel at the Grocery Outlet here in Florence! Walking in, I was immediately impressed with how open, clean, and organized everything is now. The layout feels so much more intuitive, making it a breeze to find everything I need. The fresh produce section looks incredible--bright, vibrant, and so much more inviting. The aisles are wider, the shelves are well-stocked, and everything feels thoughtfully arranged. I've always loved shopping here for the unbeatable deals, but now it feels like I'm shopping at a high-end market without the high-end prices! The staff, as always, are friendly, helpful, and quick to greet you with a smile. You can tell a lot of care went into this remodel, and it has completely elevated the shopping experience. If you haven't stopped by since the remodel, you're missing out. Great prices, great people, and now a store that looks and feels fantastic! Florence, you've got a gem here. read more

Prices are now similar to the big retailers. The rennovation included new short counters that are insufficient for larger purchases. Estimates for $$$ saved are wildly exaggerated. Having to get the new "Wow" app to see the sales is a great deterrent. I don't know what Grocery Outlet is trying to be, but they are certainly disappointing. read more

While waiting in line for a few minutes and my 8 items on the table the young man/child looked up at me got a CLOSED sign put it down in front of my groceries and said YOU HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER LINE AM CLOSED ! I did speak to the manager Lisa she just smiled and said SORRY. she didn't bother to open a line and ring me up she stayed in the back warehouse chit chatting with someone. Love this place! They have a wide selection of vegan and health foods you won't find anywhere else in town as well as regional and imported brands. The prices are excellent on most items if not comparable. You'll need to pay attention to expiration dates but it's always worth the few extra minutes. Yes, you can get in and out if you only need a couple of staples but why not take your time and explore all they have to offer. Also I can't say enough about the quality of the employees here. Grocery Outlet is a store that buys products that are either about to expire or were overproduced. So prices are cheaper than most. Products tend to vary from store to store, and aren't stocked consistently. So it can be a toss up if you'll find what you are looking for. They also stock a lot of off brands, so it's hit and miss on name brands. Prices are pretty decent. You really just have to watch what you're buying and be a smart consumer. They have price tags on everything along with the "everywhere else" price, which isn't always accurate. The employees at this location are really nice and helpful. It's a better atmosphere than most locations. Cashiers seem to enjoy their jobs, and are smiling. I've found employees stocking shelves and asked for things, and they do know the store well. So if you're looking for something they had on a previous visit, they can usually tell you about it, and if they have it in stock this time. Which is nice, so you're not wasting time looking for something that isn't there. It's really all about being an intelligent consumer. Know your prices and check the expiration dates before you buy anything in here. If you do that, you can likely find good deals. This particular location gets 4 stars just because they tend to have a better selection that the two stores in my area. So I find better stuff here and can stock up on pantry items. read more

I love Grocery Outlet but today at this store I was asked to leave my backpack up front because I obviously look like someone who would steal. My backpack had my MacBook, iPad, and a bunch of other valuables which in total is around $2,500. Sorry but I'm not leaving my backpack in my vehicle or with a stranger. I love this market...great prices especially on organic and natural items that can be hard to find. Overall good selection on common groceries. An easy location, lots of parking. They even have a great can and bottle refund program. The employees are helpful and kind. But the shining star is Marin, she always has a smile and is SO nice! This makes grocery outlet my go to shopping stop. read more

It was fine at first, but I then learned management is disrespectful and my last food purchase, which was an awful lot, was just gross. Not shopping here again and i highly recomend avoiding this Grocery Outlet until Woody gets new management. PS I know secrets in this store and last I checked, one of their policys was outlawed. This store is the pits! I have been shopping here for over 3 years but no more. Under Oregon's bottle bill stores are required to take your recycled bottles. A few months ago I went in with 200 bottles (I was unaware that you can only take 144 bottles per day) but when the clerk told me she was just mean and nasty, reprimanding me in front of several shoppers as if I was an unrulily child. I apologized and said I would go out to the car and recount just 144. Then a shopper who had checked out ask the clerk if she could sign for the extra bottles. Instead of answering, the clerk huffed, gave me a dirty look and instead of waiting on the customers in line stopped to take care of my bottles making rude comments under her breath. I spent that $20 at Grocery Outlet and just to see what would happen, I went to the same clerk to check out. She was just as rude to me then. Today I went to the store to return 80 bottles (each washed and placed in a clean new trash bag). I grabbed a cart and a man told me I had to use a very dirty cart because the cart I had grabbed was for shopping only. I told him that I wanted to pick up a few items as well as returning the bottles -- nope had to use the filthy cart and no I was told I had to return the bottles first and then I could shop. I walked in and the clerk told me I had to go back outside and empty the bottles into the filthy cart. Then I came back in and waited in line. And no I did not do my shopping. I am handicapped and any store that is going to be rude to me, and make it as difficult as possible to do what they are required to do under Oregon law does not deserve my business. read more
