This is December 31, 2023…read more* Woodburn Mega Foods has all the basic staples available in most grocery stores plus many items and brands needed for authentic European and Mexican cooking not found at Safeway or Walmart. * The parking lot is in excellent shape with parking spaces clearly marked and clean. * The produce department, deli and bakery look great and have a wide selection with many options not available anywhere else in the Woodburn area. * The shortage of cashiers currently does not seem to be a problem generally. There can be lines during peak times but the cashiers work steadily to get people checked out quickly. * There is a self checkout section with a person available to help with any problem. * Most of the cashiers speak English and Spanish and are friendly to everyone. As for the cashiers not being particularly chatty - I value getting in and out of the grocery store quickly. In fact, it irritates me when things are held up by cashiers carrying on conversations with customers when there is a line. The store has the warehouse look, like Costco, and is clean, fresh, and usually well stocked. Like many stores today they may be out of something due to shipping delays but I normally can find everything I need. I wanted to let people know what Woodburn Mega Foods shopping is like now.

This is the first really bad experience I've had with a Costco food court and this is not my normal Costco. I called ahead and pre-ordered my pizza. When I paid for my pizza. I also ordered two mocha freezes and a strawberry frozen yogurt. The food court staff did not put the lid on the mocha freeze and for whatever reason thought this was a coyote ugly experience and slid the mocha freeze across the counter with such Force. It went right off the counter and all over myself and my son. Wall covered in sticky sugar, the food court staff just stood there watching us. A random 7-year-old had to go and get paper towels so I could try to not track mocha freeze all over. The food court staff immediately asked if I would want them to remake the one they threw at me. I was beyond confused and told them I have to go to the bathroom to wash out my shoes and pants now. As I was able to catch one of the mocha freezes. The food card staff told me they would put it in the refrigerator To which I'm thinking you will remake my order. When I come back. After trying to remove all of the mocha freeze in the bathroom, we came back and had to wait in line as they were very confused that we still wanted our order. They finally gave us our pizza which they made wrong and told us we would have to go to the end of the queue if we wanted to get the pizza we ordered. A. At which point a manager was called over to try to assist in the situation. She told me she would watch the video feed later and wanted to know what she could do to help. I said I would like my food but since it's not ready I would like a refund. She then said she would give us a gift card but that would take too much time and the next time we come to just ask for her? Everything about the situation was weird. She then tried to get a refund on my $17 order but was unable to. Eventually she handed me $10 cash to try to fix this mistake. I was still covered in mocha freeze. The order was wrong. The excuses of "oh we had a lot of sick calls today, so your medication hasn't been filled yet", then changing the story to "we had to order this medication in", yet the pharmacist the night before never stated the medication needed to be ordered in... keep in mind I was told it would be ready the night before by the pharmacist within an hour. So when I waited until the next day to pick it up, and I was told "it wasn't ready and wouldn't be ready for quite awhile" it was upsetting, and the cashier wasn't friendly about it, she just made excuses. Instead of making an effort to get it done, I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. I'd go elsewhere and believe me I've looked into it, if the costs for 1 medication weren't such an enormous difference everywhere else. While I understand the day in day out dealing with customers can kill a persons soul. I do my best to remember how awful people can be and I try to be polite, respectful, and courteous for that very reason. A little communication without excuses and an attitude can go a long way. Maybe trying to put a rush on items that should have been ready prior to incoming rx would help too when a person comes to pick the prescription up, maybe prioritize those rx first.
