My situation was the latter- I was going to yard sales in Newberg when I came across this place. It is very unassuming from the outside and has limited hours- if you're able to visit though, I recommend it. The prices are very fair, the selection is good and the volunteers are very friendly. It's definitely not as clean or comfortable as say Goodwill, but it's fairly organized and easy to find things. The best selections are in clothing, books, homewares and DVDs. Lots of parking in the area including a dedicated lot. Bit of a warning- during summer it can get very hot in here. I think there is AC but the building doesn't appear to be well insulated. Not a major deal for me, but for people more sensitive to temperature this is a heads up!

I am an avid shopper and have frequented similar stores all over the US, so it is with great confidence that I can say Pulp & Circumstance is one of the best. It is lovingly and beautifully curated by co owners and friends Jennifer & Ashley. I was doing business in the neighborhood and noticed they were finally open (I peeked in their window last week) and today is their grand opening. The store is located inside of a beautiful Victorian house that has been expertly transformed into about 1,000 sq feet of retail space. There are three major rooms that house a variety of items including but not limited to: fresh flowers, air plants, succulents, books, at least 100 (very cute, often letterpress) cards, stationary, baby gifts, jewelry, candy by the pound, jewelry, mirrors, art, etc. Best of all some of the wares are from local artists and businesses. Many of the items here I have never seem before, and I easily spent a hour familiarizing myself with my new go to place for gifts, small home decor items and cards. Does it sounds like the owners here are my very best friends? Well they are not (yet). Today was the first time I met these two remarkably charming and welcoming gals in my community. I am looking forward to future chats about the happenings in the Berg (we traded information about what other businesses are coming to town including a bakery and restaurant this summer). I picked up two mirrors, a postcard, a camping cookbook, a Father's Day card, a wedding card and a thank you card set. And I will likely be back tonight for their official grand opening party with my husband. Pretty please come shop here and support this brand new business which I suspect will quickly find great success and a loyal cult following.

We got a beautiful set at a good price. We also had delivery and set up. The furniture arrived as expected 2 weeks later and was delivered and all set up for us. great service from start to finish. I think our sales guy was the guy in another review who was resting in a chair! Seems like he's super comfortable in his line of work and maybe he was testing the merchandise!!

Scott who we have spent the most time with is quite personable and really goes out of his way to take care of his customers. In our first interaction more than a year ago we went in shopping for a mattress to put on a child's bunk bed. We were looking for a comfortable, affordable mattress. They didn't try to sell something we couldn't afford, instead we were directed to exactly what we needed. As a result we have returned twice more. The prices were fair, in one case he even found extra savings for us in the form of a manufacturer deal that arrived in the mail while we were there looking around. They let us purchase a mattress, then return it when it wasn't quite the right one for us a couple weeks later, then helped us purchase the perfect mattress. We have been sleeping great ever since! We also purchased a sturdy bed frame, bunk bed foundations and all for great prices. They also offer a more affordable, higher quality mattress protector than we have seen elsewhere. It is nice to visit with someone who knows their products and can offer helpful advice. They have treated us very well as customers and we will be back again.
