I've shopped here a few times. Prices are low and as long as it's something simple and routine I can usually find it. What causes me to give them a low rating is something taking place outside the store. I am a disabled person and have to park in handicapped spots. Handicap spaces have white diagonal lines, (sometimes encased in a blue border), with the words NO PARKING next to the actual space. The purpose of this is for there to be enough room for people with walkers, wheelchairs, and general mobility issues to exit their vehicles, especially if they are in a transport van. The owners/managers of this location have decided this is not important and disabled people don't need this space and they have filled it with merchandise. (See attached photos). I am lucky enough not to require the extra space to exit my car, but I can only imagine the increased difficulty those with walkers and wheelchairs are being put through. I mentioned the issue to the clerk in the store and showed them why it is a problem. The person acted interested but it obviously went nowhere since the debris was still there a week later. It's frustrating to enter a store parking lot and find people have parked shopping carts in this area. But it's somewhat understandable since they may not know the reason it is marked for no parking. But for the owners of the store, whom I am certain are aware of their responsibilities to the disabled, to willfully place merchandise in the space and make it more difficult for handicapped patrons to enter the establishment is atrocious. read more

Hold the presses! This is the grocery outlet of my dreams. The Beer and wine selection is out of this world. Not too long ago Concord Grocery Outlet was the newbie on the block with the big wine selection. But Oakley, oh Oakley you have made my heart so happy with your beer selection. 21st amendment, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada, Firestone, Bluemoon (pumpkin ale) and Rouge just to name a few. The prices were pretty standard. I walked away with 21st amendment's Brew Free or Die, 6 pack for $7.99, and a single Bluemoon pumpkin ale that was magnificent, sweet under tones with a spice pumpkin flavor. Yum. After delighting in my Beer choices I took a small tour of the rest of the place. Everything was clean and organized. The aisles were filled with familiar product. Grocery Outlet is my go to place for toiletries. Picked up some Rimmel Mascara for $3.99 and a new toothbrush $1.39. Among the brands were Dove, Caress, Venus Razors, Jergens, Nivea, Colgate, Crest many more for way less than you get from Target or CVS. You can definitely catch some deals and save some money here. read more

While the store still earns a strong 3 for cleanliness and the professionalism of their staff, it has dropped from a soft-5 due to their suspension of their return policy. Unfortunately, some of the products in the store are at a deep discount because they are defective or do not meet the manufacturer's standards. If you are unlucky enough to stumble onto one of these "great deals" you have no recourse to return or exchange. Even sticking with products I know from purchasing at other stores I've been burned with a few bad products. Be especially wary of frozen products. I suspect some products end up there because at some point they were not stored properly. ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE! read more

If I could give a lower review I would. My wife who has had a kidney transplant and many other health issues and who is disabled went shopping with me today. When I asked if my wife could use the restroom, which for her is important because of her kidney issue. They told me that customers were not allowed to use the bathrooms because of covid. Anyone who knows the science knows that for well over a year we have known that you cannot get covid from food or off a surface. A young lady told me she was the manager, only to find out she was not, refused to open the bathroom for my wife. I explained to her the situation but she said what has become the naziesk answer "im just following orders" After this conversation I witnessed them allow another customer access to the bathroom and to my amazement continued to reject us. The next manager came out. I tried to reason with him, but he became irate when I suggested we were being discrimanated against. I tod him I was not sure what other word to use since that kinda is the definition of discrimination. He then asked me to leave the store or he would call the police and have me removed. On my way out my wife was asked by another employee what happened. As my wife was telling her another employee in his 20s about 6 foot 5 inches, at least told me and my wife to "just shut up and leave the store" he was trying to be physically intimidating and when I stepped up being in my 50s to protect my wife this coward quickly backed down. The other employee was stunned at how we were treated and apologized. As a side note there were customers walking around non-masked and not a word was said to them. GO TO ANOTHER GROCERY OUTLET. Update: The Grocery Outlet in Brentwood has thier restrooms fully open and unlocked. Checking into ADA laws on closing bathrooms to the disabled and early research seems to indicate they are to be open and accessible. read more

I absolutely love their liquor section. I go here a couple times a week just to see what they have new because the prices are so incredible.

The service and cashiers were okay at best. The lines are long at times and they don't add cashiers until it gets really bad.

Love Grocery Outlet but the Oakley store isn't managed well. The shelves are always empty. I drive to Concord to go to the one on Willow Pass Road. That store is always fully stocked and has a great variety. The managers for the Oakley and Brentwood stores should go take lessons on how to run a grocery store from the Concord Managers. This is my default grocery spot and I really enjoy it. I get overwhelmed if I have too many options, so the size of this store is perfect for me. I always hit up their organic aisle, just to see what's available. I like the music they play. And I enjoy the staff. Sure, if you come during peak shopping hours, you'll have to wait in line. And if you have slightly obscure or overly specific items on your list, you may not find them here. But, it comes with the territory. Grocery Outlet offers great prices on staples (and more!) and provides a pleasant shopping atmosphere for their patrons. That's what keeps me coming back. read more

Store was very clean, well organized, and had plenty of variety of items available. Prices were, in my opinion, very fair. There was plenty of staff available to assist on the sales floor and working the registers. Love this local grocery store! During the Covid pandemic, it's the only store that was stocked and ready. They consistently have ORGANIC products:milk, eggs, some produce, & some meats. The beer & wine selection is awesome also! The people who work there are always very friendly. The prices are the most competitive in the area. They even do a drawing that gives you a shopping spree that consists of your savings, if you add your receipt to the drawing box. read more

We have grown to love this store. We visit often as we know we will see a lot of wonderful items and so many Gluten Free options! (that Black bean Pasta retails for $9 on Amazon and is Awesome!) We went in today though and found all of the Produce bins up front were Missing and a display was there instead. Nice display BUT the produce bins were placed Randomly around the store. Want to see what's New in Cheese or deli meat? GOOD LUCK! That area is tight on a good day.... Add in produce bins? WOW. I really did try to shop it... but add in 3 other people and someone working the dept? Not going to happen. Then there was one employee that was SOOOO involved with what he was doing, it didn't matter that I was shopping. He placed his ladder and cart on the aisle and wouldn't move them. He turned and LOOKED at me. Didn't matter. I was ready to leave at this point.. Was mad. But my level headed husband moved the employees items and let me pass. The employee seemed Mad. Oh Well Huh? Oh, said employee spent more time at work chatting up the other employees. I will be back as this store is better than the other 2 options around here, but really need to open up the store and get rid of all of the obstacles in the store. I come here several times a week just to see what the new deals are! If you see something, but it quick because sometimes it will be gone when you come visit again. I also love the seafood deals when it's the sell buy date- recently bought and pound and a half scallops for $30 at half price. Overall I love this place! read more

If you haven't stepped in to the Grocery Outlet you are surely missing out. It's like DSW for food. Bargains abound for many of your staples along with random surprise finds like organic cocoa nibs, Yoplait lemon whip yogurt for .30 a piece or that shampoo you've always used for half the price. Bargain hunting does require patience so this ain't no grab 'n go store if you are not familiar with the layout. Also, do check the perishable expiration dates. Some are just a couple days out and a few are expired (the ridiculously low price will alert you) - but most are the same as a "regular" store. Last word of caution - not ALL products are priced lower than other stores. Just know your prices and you're golden. :) read more

Check expiration dates!! Every time I'm in this store I find products that are either expired or are expiring In a day or so. Bread, cookie dough, crackers, juice, yogurt, tortillas, lasagna.. (Didn't check the date on the lasagna and it was 3 months past the date!!). Unfortunately I couldn't find my receipt to return it. The last time I was in the store I was pretty fed up with the expiration dates and brought it to the managers attention. His answer... "We are allowed to sell products 30 DAYS past the expiration date". This is NOT ok in my opinion. I wouldn't say I won't go back because I do find great deals, but, I do spend extra time checking the date on every single product that I am going to purchase. read more

My wife and I shop at Costco (in Tracy) and WinCo in Brentwood. After seeing the TV advertisements several times, we thought we'd take a drive up there to Oakley and see what it was all about. We went today which is Friday, 1/22, and got there about 1:20 or so. There were only3 other people (customers) in the store when we arrived. I don't recall ever seeing a grocery store that empty before, but there's always a first for everything. The store was clean and well-stocked, and the employees appeared to be pleasant. We went up and down every isle checking-out what they had, and I will say their JUMBO avocados were very low-priced, but for the most part, we just didn't see the overall savings in their other products comparing them to WinCo's prices. Their produce was just "okay" in our unbiased opinion, and their meat left a LOT to be desired. We don't purchase WinCo's meat either . We purchase our meat through Costco. I think we'll stick to WinCo as there's really no incentive to drive all the way to Oakley since their prices are about the same. read more

I love grocery shopping, and come here as it gives me something fun to do on the weekend. As long as you come here knowing it is just for fun products you wouldn't buy otherwise and not for your entire grocery shopping list (that's what WinCo is for), it's all good. Make sure you check expiration dates when buying, and have an open mind! I like looking at the organic and hair care aisles the most. Sometimes you buy stuff at such a good deal that it's fine that it tastes awful. For example, the Coco-Roons that usually cost $10-$12 on Amazon are here for only $4. I bought them today and by golly, were they natural tasting and disgusting. I spit it out and threw away the rest of the bag. I didn't spend a fortune on it though, so what the heck! Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioner goes for $3 here as well so that's a steal! Employees are generally friendly as well, and unlike WinCo, they accept credit carda and bag your groceries for you. Um to the people complaining about expired items: check first. Also if you paid attention you'd know they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Take it back. On to the main reason I'm posting this. I LOVE THIS STORE! Granted they have great prices but on a serious note, their customer service is TOP NOTCH. I have absolutely ZERO complaints. Everyone is always very nice, willing to help, and talking with you like you're a person. If Crystal is there I will make it a point to find her first. She's been super great since the first day I stepped foot in that store. Then there is Sam who is usually bagging when Crystal is on register and she is fantastic too. I've been having issues walking and she always offers to help. She is absolutely amazing. There is a manager there named Tony that I encountered one particular time, it just so happened to be during the 4th of July weekend (busy of course). I went in for parchment paper and unfortunately they were out. He told me their shipment was coming the next day. I thanked him and left. I didn't get to my car when he ran up behind me with one roll!!! He went searching for it and found one for me. This is fantastic customer service right here!! Cheap yet overpriced almost expired food re-sold to consumers who can not acknowledge that this grocery store is no cheaper than say Winco or Food Maxx. Not impressed. Also to note, what the Hell is the city council of Oakley thinking putting a Grocery Outlet in the middle of all that work they did to make a "downtown feeling" that other cities have? So the intelligence of this council decided that instead of putting a recreational business there to encourage this "Downtown Feel" like say a bowling alley which would have been perfect, no, instead they put this monstrosity there. Love this Place! Shopping here is always kind of like a treasure hunt. You won't even believe the bargains you can find! The store is always clean and the employees are super friendly. I'm always greeted with smiles and a "Hi, how are you today?" I absolutely love shopping here. I also love the fact that they sell a variety of Annie's Organic snacks at decent prices, considering they're kind of pricey anywhere else. You can also find live butter lettuce here for under three bucks, which is awesome compared to the five bucks you'll pay for it anywhere else. I am SO glad this location opened as I was tired of having to trudge to the Antioch store which is inconveniently located in the middle of the hood. (I was there one time when a robbery had just taken place!) Nice, clean store. Saw nary a suspicious character in the place, unless you count this scowling granny I observed grumbling and huffing her way around trying to find some obscure something or other. Unlike GO Antioch, there were no freaks cruising the parking lot or asking for handouts. A welcome relief.. The Oakley store was full of ordinary people minding their own ordinary business, looking for bargains, minding their manners, and being helpful. What a difference a few miles makes! Loved the organic section. I found organic beef jerky for $3.99 that sells for eight bucks at Whole Foods. Great deals, great staff. And I saved over $100. read more

Very Disappointed and sadden that Racial Profiling is still going on. I visited this grocery outlet twice over President's Day weekend. The first time was ok got the items I came for paid and left. The second day I came I shopped and was waiting in line to check out. I start to put my groceries on the check stand and DeeDee the cashier says do you want paper or plastic? I said plastic please. So as she looked at her register and saw my total which was over 200.00 she said you're paying with EBT right???? I said excuse me I said EBT she said yes I said umm no I'm paying with Debit. She said oh!! Mind you DeeDee didn't ask the other people that were ahead of me in line if they we're paying with EBT. I guess I shocked her that I was able to pay for over 200.00 worth of groceries out of my hard earned money from my job. Someone else in this situation would have acted out. However I said a silent prayer and went and put my groceries in the car. I then left and called and asked for a manager and Brooke said she was the manager and I explained the situation. Brooke then said no she only asked you that because if it was EBT she didn't want to charge you for the bag. I said Brooke you charge for plastic bags even if it's EBT I told her I wanted plastic so I was going to be charged anyways. So again DeeDee didn't ask anyone else if they were paying with EBT until she saw me "A BLACK WOMAN"!!!! Then BROOKE didn't have much to say when she realized I was right and speaking Facts. I then asked could I speak to the District Manager or Owner? Brooke said they would be in Monday morning and one of them should be able to accommodate you I can't. Spoke with Brian store manager who said I have told them to stop asking people if they are paying with EBT. Then I spoke to David the owner who said we will use this as a training tool. Great now my horrible situation is a training tool but they have already been trained on this. David also said he has a good idea as to why she asked me that but it still shouldn't of happened. But when I explained to him I know they charge for plastic bags for EBT he couldn't say anything. He said sorry this happened and for me to trust he will take care of it. That's all folks he would take care of it. If I was a store owner I would have done more for a customer who had to experience that type of behavior in my store. Especially a customer who spent close to 400.00 over the weekend at my store. So just be aware that people are mistreating people of color. So next time I'll drive the extra miles to go to Walmart. read more
