Really great customer service. It is rare to find an associate that will walk you to the plant based section. This was the first thing that stood out to me. The layout reminded me of Red Apple and there was a very warm community feel here. Nothing pretentious or fancy and it's not like walking into Met Market. The name brands are stocked and I found Muir Glen tomatoes, some made in Italy off brand tomato sauces and pasta, and a huge assortment of snacks. Snacks is the way to go here. I couldn't believe how cheap things were. I've been to other locations but feeding kids is a good deal here. I like this location a lot. read more

I go here every Sunday morning (early to avoid crowds), and the prices are crazy-good. I've never had an issue with bad or expired food, and let me tell you, the owner runs a tight ship. The store is stocked, it is CLEAN, and the staff is sweet and helpful. Considering how surly everyone is at QFC and Safeway - not to mention the prices - I highly recommend you check them out. I enjoy browsing here, i wouldn't exclusively shop here for groceries as some of their items are oddly pricy for what they are. Make sure to check 'best by' dates as they keep items on the shelves until they're actually expired. They don't always have what you need but they might have a fun snack or self care item for cheap. The store is pretty loud all the item but if you bring headphones it's not bad. For the area there's been very little sketchy happenings, however i did witness a non-violent "crime" (attempted crime?) where a guy shoved something into his jacket then proceed to be yelled at by the intercom security person. Most of the items I like to get here are only available from time to time, but are not consistently stocked in the store. This is because this chain relies greatly on surplus inventory and product overruns. The checkers do not like bagging for the most part, but I am willing to bag my own. THE LINES ARE LONG FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH! Many of their customers are on public assistance, which arrives at the first of the month. Out in the parking lot, there are sometimes homeless people hanging out, and the shopping cars get stolen from time to time. Sunday morning is the best time to come. read more

One of your clerks calls me his "girlfriend" and continuously refers to me as "she/her" I have a beard. I have no idea where the hell his head is at, but I'm now avoiding this store because of him. He's very loud about it, too, and has referred to me as a woman to other customers-- I'm gay and a bit feminine ( which should NOT matter ) but I clearly have a beard and am clearly a man. I have no idea what his name is because anytime I see him I immediately try to avoid eye contact. It's very annoying and frustrating that I'm now avoiding this store because of him. His actions are DISGUSTING. I will continue to tell my friends and family to avoid this location because of him. Creepy, gross, and disrespectful. I wish I knew his name because I would happily provide it, since he clearly doesn't understand manners or proper educate. I'm hoping someone will reply to this review because I am SICK of avoiding this store because of this goddamn employee. I would try to figure out his name but I now HATE going into this store because of him. It's been multiple times that this man has done this. I am S I C K of it. If he attempts to speak to me again if I am in there, I am immediately calling for a manager. He does NOT belong at Grocery Outlet as he is making a very, very poor example of your stores. I am writing to complement the staff. The last time I was there, I mistakenly forget 2 bags of groceries at the store. When I got home, I realized the bags were missing, but I couldn't go back that day. When I called the next day to see if the bags were still there, I was told they knew about the situation. All the groceries had been put back on the shelf but that the manager had made a list and that he would help me. When I went back, I was thrilled to see the list of everything that I had left and so grateful as he (the manager) collected everything once more and brought it to the cashier. The replacement for the outdated, yet still useful, QFC, this grocery outlet specializes in discount foods, sometimes substantial discounts over regular grocery store prices. You can really stock up for less money here, and you don't need a club card to save money. On the average, you can save 35% to 50% over Safeway or Fred Meyer prices on certain items, and that's hard to do. Where you can really rack up the savings is on the vitamins and supplements that are about one-third the cost of more known brands like Nature Made, Jarrow, NOW, or what have you. You can also score big on non-perishables like crackers, cookies, cereal and other pantry items. There's absolutely nothing wrong with dairy products or limited produce, either. Plenty of parking and a great location. read more

I really like grocery outlet because they have all sorts of interesting things at really great prices.. BUT...I think they could be doing more, difficult as it is, to enforce anti-Covid restrictions... Every time I go in which is just about once a week or so I'll run into some shopper who thinks they're being cool by slipping their mask down below their face or maybe they've got it slung on their ear. Totally angers me and management should be empowering its employees to, in a nice way ,really get into customers faces and insist that they follow the rules. read more

I shop here about three times per month and have encountered the same problem repeatedly. They only have one checkstand open. It takes forever to buy items here. Due to the lack of employees, they do not enforce any COVID restrictions. I have tried to support this store as it is the closest to my home, but I am done shopping here. They sell expired items. No excuse for this. I once saw sour cream that was six months old. Today at the checkstand, I asked if the Essential Bakery bread was delivered daily. The checkout girl had no idea. I then asked the assistant manager and she thought it was delivered twice per week, but was unsure what days. The owner of the store needs to address these problems, specifically the lack of employees and expired items. This location seems to cater to low-income shoppers and I feel the store assumes they don't check expiration dates and freshness. I have a feeling the Lake City location won't be around much longer. read more

Sometimes you need to buy cheap groceries. Grocery outlet is the place to go. However, beware, it is nick named the "Gross Out" for a reason. Often the food which is found there is very close to often even past the expiration date. Bread often has mold on it, and the cheese is often funky, and not in a good way. However, it is a fairly decent place to get non-perishables. They have a rotating stock so, at one day they could have something really fabulous for a great price, then the next day, not. So .. CAVEAT EMPTOR! Other than that, I will probably stop by every so often to get stuff, just because it's usually cheap. read more

This is a fine store with different foods and quality garden equipment at great prices. Myself and others have had trouble with the lack of a quick check out line at the Lake City outlet. Can't stand in line for 20 minutes behind 3 full carts when I have 5 items in my basket. I wrote a review about this last year and have just been notified by Yelp that it was taken down as not reflecting a true customer experience and therefore not relevant. I assume Grocery Outlet contacted Yelp and requested the removal. If the reviews are controlled by the Yelp mediators and the Companies being commented on then they're not much help to consumers, are they? My review was not angry, it was and remains an accurate description of the experience of many in this area who shop at that location. I wish they would put in a 12 item or less line. Not sure how I haven't reviewed my GO yet! I love this location for its easy parking and proximity to major access roads. I purchase everything from dry goods, produce, frozen vegetarian items, to household products and gardening tools/bulbs here. They are pretty much a one-stop-shop! The ads on tv and radio are a bit cheesy but once you come in for a visit you will see what all the hype is about. The folks who work at this location are also really nice. I never thought I'd find myself writing a review for a Grocery Outlet but excellent customer service and bargain prices have led me to this path... First and foremost, I did not walk into this store expecting to buy produce and/or meats. I knew from past recommendations that there was a possibility many of the foods I'd find here would be near their expiration dates, so I just paid close attention to those dates and mainly bought nonperishable items. That being said - there are so many great things you can buy here and at really amazing prices! As a grad school student, I'm always on the hunt for bargains and affordable groceries, so I definitely recommend this market for your grocery needs. BUT, let's get to the main reason why I'm here. Dennis, the cashier who assisted me, was amazing and one of the most genuinely nice people I've met while I've been in Seattle. Their prices are pretty competitive. However, their selections for some items are limited. What really distrubs me about this place is they don't wipe down their registers after **every** transaction during the COVID-19 crisis. Many of the bigger grocery retailers do that. I also saw one of their store managers (named Alfonso) engage in horse play with one of the store's employees. I wonder if they are aware that there is a pandemic going on. That is unprofessional and could very well put the greater public at risk by failing to practice proper social distance. I find that extremely disturbing, and so should you. This pains me to rate a 3-star but I do so to get your attention to an issue that is getting out of hand. I really appreciate the prices, selection and kindness of many people at #127 in Burien, however, I'm becoming increasingly exhausted by the lack of patience and assistance of many of the cashiers when checking out. Two things are bring me to a point of discontinuing to shop there. 1) cashiers do not take the time to enter whatever code they need to give the "green or orange tagged" reduced price amount. I take time when unloading my cart to put all such items in a group so they will be aware that a special action needs to be taken; and 2) cashiers do not bag or even attempt to help bag groceries into personal shopping bags which adds to the frustration and anxiety of making sure I am paying the correct amount. I don't understand why this is a problem pre-/post-Covid as sterilization wipes, gloves, etc. are ubiquitous. Your staff handles product all day long yet when asked to fill a bag their reaction is akin to a death sentence. Hence, I try to watch as the transactions ring up and I bag. It can't be done. And often reduced prices are not reflected on my bill. Is it really too much to ask that cashiers take time to ensure the customer is getting all the value behind the reason for shopping with you? And let's not begin to talk about the frustration of having to make a second 1/2 hour drive from Alki to get the price adjustment. I emplore you to find a way to have your cashiers be more patient and aware of your additional discount procedures and respond accordingly to your loyal customers. Thank you. read more

I live much closer to the Kenmore location, so this is probably the first time I went here since it transitioned from a QFC. MUCH larger store and far superior selection and number of products than Kenmore. Same to better pricing. I don't live in Seattle. So I had completely forgotten that you are "required" to bring your own bags or pay a per bag "penalty" if you don't. So, with a huge cart load of the weekly haul, I got dinged 5 cents per bag (paper, plastic is 11 cents) only to have them do the worst bagging I have ever seen in my life. Not one bag made it from his counter to my cart without ripping, spilling or crushing something...to say nothing of being able to get it from the cart to car to house. However, since I own a bazillion reusable bags, I can avoid at least part of that next time I come here. It's still close enough to warrant a return trip to have such a bigger selection than "my" GO in Kenmore. read more

This is a treasure trove, you would never know exactly what you would get here. Great prices on name brand products, especially in their NOSH (natural organic etc.) section. The fresh produce is short-dated, but is significantly discounted. It's a good place to buy fresh and eat fresh. It's also probably the best place to get La Croix and other fizzy water. I would recommend staying away from the unknown branded items, as the quality can be very much hit-and-miss. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! As a bodybuilder, I eat about 250-350 grams of protein a day. That's equivalent to about 4 babies and 2 small puppies or the flank of loin of a horse. And since I am a Jew as well, there is quite an ongoing disparity between how much I can spend on protein. I used to buy bulk turkey from Costco for approximately $2.50 per pound. And today, I picked up a 5lb CHUBBY for $6! At .83 that is an unbelievably good deal. My muscles and Jewish tendencies pumped with excitement. I came home and threw it in a huge pot cooked it and it tasted just fine like any other brand turkey. 5 hours later, NO SALMONELLA! Whoooooooooooooooooo! Frozen chicken is cheap as well, 3lbs of Foster Farms chicken breasts came out to be $2.20 per pound. QFC & Fred Meyer averages $3+ There are tons of other bargains as well, the quality and expiration is questionable but you get what you pay for. Also, for those of you scared of "ghetto" people, come here early in the morning while the meth heads are passed out. read more

What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! I adore checking out the latest stock Grocery Outlet has picked up from their many sources. The prices are often insanely low on gourmet foods and snacks that traditional stores weren't able to move. You can get a lot of basics here like veggies, cereals, ingredients, meats, coffee, milk, and juices, but I come for the tasty / interesting / exotic / organic / veggie treats that other markets couldn't clear. I am consistently surprised with what I can find here on a budget. They also have a respectable beer and wine section, bath and cleaning goods, vitamins, medicines, cosmetics, as well as pet and baking supplies, which are often very inexpensive but still of good quality. Bear in mind that this IS an outlet store, so don't expect unrealistic Whole Foods quality control. This is by definition a B-stock market, after all. Most of the time the expiration dates are well in the future, though, so you can find deals on weird little snacks, specialty canned goods, and even tons of plain necessities. Even when things appear old or stale, I've yet to have a gross-out experience (not just at this location), and I buy produce often. Check out the cheap peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and more. The prices are well worth the gamble. At any rate, you can return stuff if it's bad, so there's no need to complain when you're saving 50%-80% on a traditional grocery bill. Stop by, shop with a little prudence, and you can walk out happy. Great place to stock for a party or dinner when you don't have a lot of cash. read more

hmmm, this is a very mixed review. They do have good deals on some packaged foods, but many of them are no better than Fred Meyer, and Grocery Outlet does not take coupons whereas Fred Meyer does. Some of the foods are kind of questionable looking. I did see huge value packs of mayo which were on their expiration date, and I saw some strange frozen "taco meat." To me this means "cheap meat with lots of fillers." On the plus side, I got lots of decent packaged food, like Oreos, Cheezits, Snickers, etc that were just fine. I'm not sure I will go back here though because if I can't go to one store for everything, and I can't here because some of the stuff is a little iffy-looking, I don't make a regular habit of shopping there. read more

I love grocery outlet and am the first to admit it but this location isn't my favorite. Yes they have good prices and a fair selection of Natural and Organic products but this location in particular is frequented by shop lifters and other interesting characters. I shop here about once a week and it's been at least 3 times I've seen the checker chasing somebody out of the store who has stolen alcohol or something and often police are called. Might be time to hire a security guard?! That detracts from my shopping experience. read more

I've been shopping here for a couple of years off an on. Some really good deals at times. Unfortunately the store just isn't well managed. Panhandlers and shoplifters are a regular site. Not really the stores fault but recently it's escalated. Petition gatherers are regularly coming into the store itself and harassing customers. Last weekend one of them assaulted a veteran who refused to sign his petition, the managers response? To kick the veteran out!!! Saw this with my own two eyes and even after explaining what had happened the manager insisted I should leave as well.. Not the kind of business I want to support. read more

They don't carry as many orgnanic products as the MLK one but as a fan of all GO, this place is always stocked with supplies and their staff are super nice. As much as I am a fan.. I love this grocery outlet! I have been to a few others and they can't hold a candle to this one. Since grocery outlet is a franchise, you never know how good each one will be, no worries with this one. All the employees are friendly and knowledgable about the products in the store. The produce is fantastic! Whoever is their produce person does a great job making sure everything is very fresh and looks great. They have a lot of very healthy and organic choices too, and a large wine and beer selection. I personally have never gotten anything past the expiration date, but to be honest it can happen at any store and has happened to me at QFC and Albertsons. I have saved so much money shopping here. I can finally feed my family very healthy food at bargain prices. read more

I have been to several grocery outlet stores but I was most impressed with this location. The night crew was amazing, polite and hardworking! All of the employees I saw were women and their ages varied from 40 and older I think, but they all seemed to really care about what they were doing. Great job night crew!!!! read more

I only go here for the cheap prices on wine. I use to buy groceries, but the majority of their food is close to expiration or EXPIRED. Watch out because they told me they are allowed to sell food up to 5 days past expiration date. I was shocked! I'd rather pay more and not risk food-borne illness!! read more
