I shop at this G.O. at least once a week. It's my favorite closest one. I'll drive by the Lake City one to get here. One of the reasons I like it so much is the cashier Gina. She is truly delightful. A very quick & efficient checker and I love that she calls me Honey. I made sure to let the store manager that they have a great employee with her. Other reasons I like it. Conveniently located next to a Dollar Tree. I pop in there to get my greeting cards & a few other items. It's a big open and bright store. I very rarely find things past their pull date. Been coming here for 12 years. Was always an amazing place for deals. Lately prices have gone way up. I know operating costs have increased and corporate probably has some say in prices. Great prices! The produce section could use a little help as there were several different items that were on the older / past their prime stage and not very appetizing. They do have the best tasting bag of gummy worms (Albanese) in my opinion (and I'm not a candy fan). I initially bought one of their bags of gummy worms for my son who loves all gummy worms and when I tried them I was pleasantly surprised. So today, I had to buy another bag and I'm not sure I'll share with my son . The cashier was friendly and personal. You can find some really good deals on various items. They even appear to have some one of a kind items that I haven't seen before. One of which I'll give a try (organic pure MorningA, a plant based superfood powder). I always pass by here on my commute and get essentially all my groceries here. Stock is variable; what's here one week may not be here the next, so get it while you can! This is a product of how the store and business operates, not a flaw. Lots of vegan options (plant milk and mock meats) for the store that it is. Deals range from same as a regular grocery store, to slight discount, and sometimes an insane discount. 2/$1 Sabra hummus for a month or so was a pretty insane discount, as is 2/$1 1L almond milk. Produce is fine, just check it for any unpleasantness and you'll be good. Returns within 30 days for anything unused. Bradley* is a great and friendly cashier and is always nice. He bumps this review up to 4/5 instead of 3/5. Other cashiers are not always as nice, but never outright rude... Just seem tired and don't really want to be there. That's fine because, y'know, work. This is one of the better grocery outlets around and I like to make trips here regularly. I will drive a distance to this one because it's 10x better than the run down sketchy lake city location. This Grocery Outlet is big and laid out well. It's not over crowded with products. They generally have decent produce, not amazing but good for things like potatoes and baby carrots. They have good prices on packaged ground beef and chicken. I buy a lot of their NOSH (natural organic sustainable and healthy) items. Consistently good inventory at this location! I am a huge fan of GO stores and this is probably my favorite in all of the Seattle area. It is small but mighty! They always seem to have unique finds here from beer and wine, to desserts, honey, and amazing cheese and yogurts. The frozen section is also full of options ranging from healthy to unhealthy, and everything in between. I can spend hours in this store just cruising down every single aisle. I LOVE the Grocery Outlet up in Marysville, so I thought I would check out the one in Kenmore on my way home. First of all I don't like the set up, but that's just me, it was hard to get around with the cart. There was a HUGE spill all over in the produce area and I watched 3 different employees leave it. I was in the store almost 45 minutes and not one person cleaned it up. It was right in the main walk area so you couldn't avoid it. I had to walk thru it in my boot cast, which luckily I didn't fall, because it was a slippery mess. The produce area was all disheveled, and it took me forever to find things. There was an employee unloading boxes into the frozen/ refrigerated area...but he was taking up more room than he needed and was making it impossible to get thru. He made zero attempt to move or be helpful. I just wasn't impressed with the selection, the store itself, or the staff......until I got to the check out. Really nice lady working up front, full of personality. Very friendly, told me about some tasty items I should try, etc. The worst part of the whole thing is that their parking is on a slight hill, so after shopping, when you are trying to load your groceries into your car, the cart is trying to roll down the hill. This grocery outlet is definitely the place to save big on groceries. I scored big on crackers, cookies and "leftover" Christmas items like mixed nuts and chocolates. For about $50 I left with two bagfuls of stuff that lasted nearly six months. They have the "Daddy Rae's" blueberry bars, apple bars and strawberry bars for about two bucks for two pounds, and they make excellent snacks, also being half the price of Fig Newton's name brand. I wouldn't recommend any of the toiletries, however, as some of the brands I didn't recognize and sometimes I am brand loyal. If, however, you need to stock up on everyday items and are on a budget, Grocery Outlet will definitely save you at least a third off your normal grocery bill. You can score big on things like herbs and spices, too, the prices of which Safeway or Albertson's can't touch. read more

I have been a customer of Grocery Outlet since I was a poor college student and it was called: Canned Food Outlet. Back then, they sold dented cans and expired food. Boy, have things changed for the better since! My husband fondly calls the Grocery Outlet "the garage sale for food". Simply put, merchandise is always changing and you're most likely only going to see a particular brand product once. Grocery Outlet offers close out deals, test market products, products close to the expiration date, and many labels from different geographic areas that may have not sold well. Every time we go to shop, the merchandise is always different. If you see something you like, don't wait! Throw it in your cart and purchase 10! Odds are, the next time you shop, that product you love will be gone. To me, what's truly great about the Grocery Outlet shopping experience......you'll rarely see the same thing twice. There's always a changing display of different merchandise. For example, they will always carry jams and jellies. One week, it might be name brand Smuckers. The next week, it might be a store brand name from the south like Piggly Wiggly. Since the early days, Grocery Outlet has truly evolved. The Kenmore store recently did a store reset and now offers a full aisle of organic products! It's amazing to see organics at a bargain price. The store offers many other grocery amenities. I particularly enjoy browsing the cold section - they have a fantastic assortment of cheeses and deli meats. Wonderful charcuterie options to make a tasty platter or yummy sandwich! There's also a great selection of dairy, particularly yogurt. Judy is the owner of the Kenmore location. She's been in the grocery business for many years and her store reflects her passion. The store is clean and well organized and employees are friendly. Over the years, Judy has recognized me as frequent customer and now calls me by name and always says hello. This is the place to shop for bargains. They have lots of food for below normal prices. They stock overruns, liquidation items and such. I often find items carried at Costco, Safeway, Albertsons, QFC as a fraction of the cost at the other stores. Their milk, eggs, spices and produce are fairly predictable. I often find things like green peppers at less than i can buy them at Costco. Their frozen, canned and boxed items are constantly changing. I have found a better quality of anchovies than stocked at Cash and Carry. Wine and beer are available at excellent prices. The problem is when I find an item I really like at a good price, it may not be available the next time I come in. My best find was a bottle of wine from Ceja wineries in California. Bought it for a family gift exchange for my wife's family Christmas party a couple years back and after the fact found out that Ceja is run by the family of one of my cousins husband - I should have kept it and tried their wine. It's ok for some things, and it just depends on your needs or wants. On some things, they seem to have good prices. On other things, they are the same as other grocers. I thought the produce was wimpy and skimpy in size and quality, but some of the items were a good price. The green peppers were nice, and we got some nectarines that were pretty small, but they were very sweet and tasty. They have a nice wine selection, and some of the bottles are a great price. The beer selection is smaller and more on point with average prices. Some items literally are at the Dollar Tree, and they may have theirs marked at 99 cents, so you're saving a penny. The options are limited, so if you go in expecting to get everything on your shopping list, you might be disappointed. A huge shout out to the Kenmore/Bothell Grocery Outlet. A couple weeks ago, I used the wrong payment card while my groceries were being rung up. I mentioned it to the cashier so she could cancel that before she totaled. She didn't understand what I meant, so it went through. I had $150 worth of groceries. These two lovely ladies had to return every single item, then resell them to me so that my month was financially saved. Sunlight and Window Glare Blind Customers and Staff. This is a chronic issue. Just yesterday, I was standing in the cashier queue line with others and each of us was using our hands to shield us from the unwelcome glare. It was evident the staff were experiencing this too. According to the cashier this has been mentioned over and over to management in hopes of finding a remedy. The response from the owner/operator has been less than sympathetic. When I lived in Capitol Hill, my grocery-getting habits were simple and based largely on my mood. Feeling ambitious? Hike up to Trader Joe's for affordable organics. Feeling like a princess? (Yes, usually.) Press buttons on AmazonFresh and let somebody else deal with the heavy lifting. Exhausted with no standards? QFC at Broadway and Pike and their effing annoying self-checkout lanes. But now that I'm near downtown in First Hill, my options have slimmed down considerably. No QFC, no Trader Joe's, and, mend my breaking heart, no AmazonFresh. (I email them everyday, begging them to expand their delivery radius, promising to buy the $10 strawberry platter and lots of pricey cheese/wine/chocolate. But do they listen? Noooooo.) The only grocery store in walking distance is M Street. M Street is cute and all, but for the prices, they sure don't make me feel like royalty. And so, I go to Kenmore. Crazy? Maybe. But I swear, the only thing that makes my heart pound faster than an AmazonFresh truck climbing up the hill is a big suburban box-shaped store filled with consumer goods that failed marketing research test markets for cents on the dollar. I buy weird-but-delicious snack bags FOR A QUARTER. I get fancy cheese with weird packaging FOR TWO DOLLARS. I get bags of M&Ms with only one color for THIRTY-THREE CENTS. I buy giant things of pasta for A BUCK FIFTY. And don't even get me started on the personal care aisle, where enormous bottles of organic shampoo run for LESS THAN A FIVER. Don't get me wrong, AmazonFresh is definitely the best option if you live in their delivery zones. But if not? Well, maybe it's time to make up for all that value your 401k lost by saving 80%-120% on your grocery bill. I was always skeptical about this place, but I've seen more and more grocery outlets open up so I decided to give it a try. It's not even that bad! It's a bargain grocery store where you can find a lot of things for great deals. For example, I bought organic body wash for $9, whereas in Wholefoods or PCC, the same one goes for $20+. Deals! Just make sure you check the expiration dates! Some things expire really soon and others have a pretty normal expiration date, but it's understandable since it's an "outlet". They have a little bit of everything here- kitchen ware, pet supplies, beauty supplies, electronics and clothes, etc. I occasionally stop by to see if they have any organic food and organic products and they usually do. Grocery Outlet is not my primary grocery store because it's not conveniently located for me. However, their prices do shock me sometimes because there are items at those other stores that never go on sale but Grocery Outlet is selling them for about $0.50 cheaper than the sale price! Me likey. A couple things that I've noticed about this store is that while some items are cheaper when compared to other stores, it's cheaper for a reason. For example, yesterday I bought red/orange/yellow bell peppers for $0.50 each, which is normally a fantastic deal. But, the bell peppers were about 2/3rds the size of what you would usually find. Still, I felt like they were a good deal as orange and yellow ones are often pricey. The other thing is that they may not have everything you will need. During my previous visit, I needed beef broth but they only had vegetable and chicken. Not a big deal as I just got vegetable broth instead. But still, they may not have everything you need, and you know what? I'm ok with that. But you should ask yourself if you are willing to go shop at multiple stores to get everything you need. One last note: The meat selection (specifically steaks) is small-ish. read more

The Kenmore Grocery Outlet is the best place ever to buy good stuff at incredible discounts. We have been shopping there ever since we moved here 8 years ago & have absolutely no complaints at all. If there is ever a problem with anything you buy, no questions asked, they will just take it back. We buy our smoked salmon there, lots of it, whenever it comes in. At the prices they sell stuff, there is just no reason to shop anywhere else unless you cannot find what you want there. I have a love hate relationship with Grocery Outlet. I rarely trust anything from there... each time I have bought something I have gotten violently sick (hospital status- thanks blueberry muffins) or it tasted horrible (Taco Bell sauce). I do like that they carry odd stuff, like SHARK soap, size 16 men's steel toe boots, huge selection of chips and crackers, crystal lite packets and tons of cheap throws. Last time I came in here I was on a mission for the recently discontinued version of Slim Fast, the new plastic bottle kind isn't as good (and much more expensive). Nope they didn't have any :( I also checked for Pumpkin Pie Poptarts....nope. I will have to head to Target for those. So overall it's worth stopping by... I like Grocery Outlet for its convenience. It is an outlet-type store, so you're never guaranteed to find something specific, but their prices are the best around. Produce needs to be used quickly, it's generally at the end of its shelf life, as is dairy. They have a nice-sized organic section and a good selection of craft beers. I was at the Kenmore Grocery Outlet today and they have not provided cashier shields at their stores, which puts both their employees and customers in danger. In this economy, I frequent this grocery store more than often than the major ones. I love their toiletries section, their seasonal specials, cheap cereals, deals on cookies and candies, and their frozen food section. The staff is super friendly and they always have deals on produce. The only downside is often times you won't see the same product the next time around, the expiration dates are questionable, and there are times when the vegetables have seen better days. Overall, this is the best place to shop on a budget, especially when when you have a big family. So, always check the expiration, and you're good! A simple call to ask store hours turns into a rebuke for they have no idea when they are going to close. Here's a place that time forgot. In fact the whole strip mall reminds me of the early 70's. I don't think anything has changed in 30+ years including some of the prices at this Grocery Outlet. I like this one better than the one on Aurora. There will be no transients lingering outside or any drug deals in the back of the building. It's just a great grocery store. They had this great high end ice cream for only $2.50. I don't remember the brand but I remember seeing it at Whole Foods and Metropolitan Market because it was in a tin instead of a plastic tub. I made sure to stock up since it's here today and definitely gone tomorrow. Inventory always changes but a good deal on groceries remains a constant. I admit it, I love all grocery outlets but this one is probably one of the nicer ones I have been to. I think its only a few years old. It seems so spacious on the inside. Many great deals can be found her just like at other store locations. I always find great vegetarian items at a fraction of the price they cost at the regular grocery store. You can also pretty much find anything you need here. They have a great vegetable area where we always get avocados and tomatoes. I really like the stand up freezer section in this location, those doors make it so easy to see everything and you don't get nearly as cold while shopping. Employees were super friendly and talkative. There is a wine tasting event coming up, I don't understand how other grocery stores don't do things like this, but its another reason to love the grocery outlet. This is also the place to stock up on wine, many bottles can be found in the 3.99$ price which just doesn't happen anywhere else. Serioulsy people ,this is a bargain market not an all out fully stocked grocery store.It relies on discontinued items to stay in business,that is why sometimes you don't see the stuff the big brand name grocery stores carry all of the time.( Like Mayo) They have great deals on all sorts of stuff but you probably need to do your major shopping at other stores because they do not carry everything. I have shopped htis store since it openen and have never has a problem with anything ,check to labels for dates and you shouldn't have a problem.They are pretty good at dumping outdated stuff or reducing it to a price that you can feed the item to your dogs or neigborhood birds.
