Workers are all so friendly. You never know what you'll find, because things rotate in and out. A lot of things have a short shelf life, thus the discount. However, if you know you're eating it soon, doesn't matter. Great place for little league team snacks.

On 11/28/22 I purchased an EOS shimmer lip balm from the Grocery Outlet in Moorpark CA. The product smelled rancid (like old cooking oil) so I contacted EOS via email and checked the expiration date. Per EOS, the product expired November 2020. I was advised to discard it. Not wanting to eat the $3.99 cost, I tried to return it to my local Grocery Outlet in Camarillo. I was told that Grocery Outlets are privately owned so I'd have to take it back to the Moorpark store. The cost of the item isn't worth the time or gas so this is pretty much the last time I purchase any perishables without expiration dates from a Grocery Outlet. Stay away from these stores.

It's never crowded either so you can do your shopping without trying to beat the crowd, especially on the weekends. The staff is super helpful, and just the other day while I was looking for a rare ingredient, one of the ladies there helped me find it. I was surprised they even had it! Win! Their prices are also super reasonable. Another win. I love that they have fresh local flowers, seasonal beers, and tons of cheese! They also have a pretty big aisle with Asian ingredients. Thank goodness I don't have to drive to Ranch 99! Also a big plus is that they have Starbucks inside the store. And it's never crowded! Yay for Moorpark Ralph's.

The deli and meat counters are often unstaffed, and you will often hear "customer needs help at the deli/meat counter", and even then, I've still had to wait for up to 10 minutes for a worker to arrive, with other customers being just as frustrated. Furthermore, sometimes their food is not even out on display to purchase (I went to the deli counter today at about 10 am, and it was completely EMPTY). There was even one case a year ago where the entire deli and bakery were closed, and I was told it was because nobody showed up to work. Twice I contacted customer service at the Ralph's website, and the live person on the chat line gave me the usual "we take customer satisfaction very seriously" and "we are sorry for your frustration" and said they would contact their store manager, but both times they apparantly never did, because I never heard back and their issues weren't corrected. Figure, if issues that customers express are not improved in some way, that shows that the store only cares about customers so much. Despite their radio ads, they do not have "low prices". Their items are more expensive than other local stores, and their produce is not particularly high quality either. Another disconcerting observation, their price for individual Krispy Kreme donuts is 2.59 each. That high price for lousy donuts that are 95% air. The only grocery store in Moorpark with worse customer service is Vons (that's a separate issue for a different review). Albertson's was fairly good, but the Moorpark location, unfortunately, was closed years ago. Smart and Final is probably the best option in Moorpark, as they do have low prices, and their staff is friendly and helpful, although the selection would not be as great. Target also has some grocery, and have fairly solid customer service.

Instead of taking a normal 15 mins to deliver to my house, it took them over an hour. I knew something was wrong mid delivery when their car wasn't moving for 40 mins and I tried contacting the driver and vons. The driver said there was traffic which doesn't make sense for my small town. The support said I could request a refund if the food perished. After an hour the food was delivered but all the perishables were warm and started to smell. So I threw out the food and requested a refund. Unfortunately, despite their freshness guarantee I was denied a refund because the order was delivered. I tried contacting support and the live agents kept requesting a refund but after 12 days I am still out 200 bucks (well 300). I am so disappointed because this is my childhood store and I can't believe the unprofessionalism. I know the fault is with the driver but I don't know why the operations manager is making me foot the bill. Do not use fresh pass. The drivers are not professional and your chances of getting cold milk is nil.

Ralph's MOST expensive? I might have been wrong.I went to Moorpark Produce today and was astounded…read morethat a pineapple was about $6-1/2 and BANANAS were a DOLLAR A POUND! When I was in Ralph's this week, I didn't buy some of my favorites because of the gouge prices. I think the bananas were 80¢ / lb and I balked at the $4 pineapple. But when I went into Moorpark Produce I couldn't believe the SUPER GOUGE prices. I needed some milk, and DID NOT SEE a price tag. Like a percentage of us, I did not look at the price before I casually (habitually) used my phone to pay electronically. When I got home, I noticed that a half gallon was FIVE CLAMS. Thats about 2.8 times Ralph's price for the half gallon. I could have bought Ralph's FULL GALLON for only $4. I felt like such an idiot for not checking the price. I would have left the milk right at the check stand. Not worth the effort to go return the unopened container. But I DID call them and let them know why I'm not going back there. Price gouging may bring some more profits, but I feel in the long run creates a loss of customers and wasted food, from what doesn't sell. The store should be embarrassed. Where's the shark?…read more That's the first thing I think every time I walk into this Trader Joe's. For years, the store hosted a game for kids by hiding a toy shark, along with several other stuffed animals, somewhere in the aisles or on top of a refrigerator. Children who found the shark won a small prize. My kids were always excited to search for it. I secretly wanted to join the hunt myself, but unfortunately, there were no prizes for adults--except for some tasty samples, which my kids enjoyed just as much as the shark game. The shark and the food samples may have been the main attraction for my family, but this neighborhood store has everything else covered. Whether you need fresh produce, milk, frozen meals, or one of Trader Joe's seasonal favorites, the shelves are consistently well stocked. The store is clean, thoughtfully decorated throughout the year, and staffed by friendly employees who can quickly track down that elusive sauce or your favorite snack. More recently, Trader Joe's reusable tote bags have developed a cult following, especially overseas. The Wall Street Journal even covered their worldwide popularity. New bag designs often sell out within days, with some appearing on eBay for several times their original price. Whether your kids want to hunt for the hidden shark, you're stopping in for dinner ingredients, or you're hoping to score the latest collectible tote bag, this Trader Joe's offers a shopping experience that's a little more fun than your average grocery store.
