But if they sell you an item that THEY took out of the box and have had on display, they want you to pay full price while claiming the item is still "new." We placed an order over the weekend for about $4,000 and were told it would be ready to pick up by Monday. I got there around 12, and the order wasn't ready. Not a big deal--we waited. Then we found out that one of the items included in our order was the display fridge. We told them we wanted a brand-new fridge in a box. The employee kept stating that they "just took it out of the box," but in reality, that fridge has been sitting there on display for a long time. We asked for either a boxed fridge or a refund. The employee did not hesitate to state, "I will meet you at the front and give you your refund," without even trying to offer another alternative or find a solution. There were no customer service skills from the employees or Buster, the manager. The situation escalated pretty quickly, and Buster very rudely kept telling me to stop talking instead of trying to handle the situation professionally and understand why we were upset. We have been doing business with Chef Toys for a very long time, but today they lost a customer because of Buster and the way this situation was handled. I do want to acknowledge and thank the Director of Sales. He understood the situation and very calmly tried to find a solution. Unfortunately, by that point, it was already too late. He showed the professionalism and customer service that we should have received from the beginning. He should be hired as the manager instead.

I made my way out to the SoCo farmers market early morning to catch him to sharpen my 2 hair-cutting shears. He educated me on the types of shears I had and the his process in sharpening them with all of the different tools he had. Upon pickup, he had me check how well they cut with human hair extensions he had ready so that he could make any needed adjustments. Long story short, I brought expensive shears I had bought preowned not realizing that they may have been sharpened incorrectly before so he had to fix somebody else's work. He was so kind and didn't make me feel bad about it and was overall just so pleasant to work with. He sharpens all sorts of tools including garden, groomer, kitchen knives, clippers, etc. He's also mobile so long as there is a driveway for him. Please check him out!

I have some steak knives that are over 20 years old and had never been resharpened before. They had…read moregotten so dull that I thought I would have to throw them away, but they are Henckels, so they are nice enough that I didn't want to give up on them too easily. I had my husband bring them into Unlimited Bladeworkz for resharpening. They came back with narrower blades, but able to cut well again, which made me very happy. My husband said that Jason, the proprietor of the store, was friendly and knowledgeable, and he has brought in other kitchen knives and even pocket knives to be resharpened on subsequent trips there, all with great results. Thanks to Unlimited Bladeworkz, I will hopefully have another 20 years with our favorite family steak knives. This time I will have them resharpened sooner when needed. My husband also said that there was a sign outside the store that they resharpen scissors too, so that will be my next chore for him.

The pricing was very reasonable, and the turnaround was pretty quick considering everything was done during the farmers market hours. I was especially a little cautious about handing over my favorite knives, but I was very satisfied with the results. Once I got home, I put them to the test using both regular paper and facial tissue to see how cleanly they would cut. They passed both tests just fine and came back noticeably sharp. Overall, a convenient and reasonably priced sharpening service with good results. I'll definitely bring my knives back when they need sharpening again.
