We have been taking our pooshon to Groomingdales for a couple of years and always been satisfied. We had to go a little longer because of a medical issue, and probably didn't brush him as much as we should, but he was not totally ignored either. The groomer said he was a bit matted and she would have to cut it shorter than usual which we said was fine. Imagine our shock and horror when we went to pick him up and she had completely shaved him other than his tail which was fluffy. It was so bad we would not have recognized him except for his collar. We were so shocked we were speechless. Totally uncalled for! We will never go back. read more

The issue has been resolved with management. Moofy is ok. I don't want to leave them a low review over the mistake of one groomer because for the most part, we have had great experiences here aside from this really bad one.. they said that Moofy would only be handled by the owner now when he goes in for a cut. Still trying to decide if we will bring him back. read more

11/10!! Honestly the o oh place I'll ever go to. My dog is a pitty who's very nice but comes off aggressive (tense body, and just barking) I only get his nails tripped here but man they go the extra mile. First off, when Covid hit they made everyone stand outside (still can't really go in) but they quickly noticed my dog was barking kinda scared and scary other dog owners (again he's the sweetest) so they let us come up right before the appointment so we don't gotta wait in line (drop off). Not only that but my Thor shakes and try's to pull his paw away when his nails are getting trimmed and they let me stick by his side, they always sit in the ground with me, give him breaks in between paws and let's him smell the clippers to make him feel as comfortable as possible. They also do this with my mothers dog, she always pee's when she there and they always have a towel ready for her and a spot for my to stay right next to her. I recommend this place, they really take care of your babies! read more

A little disappointed, we took our pup to get groomed for the first time. Really excited to get a clean smelling dog back. When I picked her up from the groomers she was covered in other dog hair. And when she sat in my lap on the way home I noticed she stepped in dog poop in my entire car smell so bad. Honestly not taking her back there. If I could leave a half or "no star" review I would. After visiting here many times our Persian kitty Ruprecht suffered a major hypoxic event and suffered a stroke, leaving him blind and completely unaware of anything around him. We laid him to rest at only three years of age due to their mishandling and lack of awareness while in their care. I would certainly not deal with them as their "insurance" company was less than helpful as well and since it wasn't on video, they offered us $200 for their culpability in the matter. His care cost us $1500+ before we lost a dear family member too early. Our family suffered the hardship, care, and loss of a kitty that was otherwise healthy until visiting here. How do I get to explain this to my 11 year old daughter? Thanks, Groomingdale, for the suffering and heartache you've caused my family. read more

On Tuesday, I took my new (older) dog for his first grooming bath. He does not like water, other dogs, or scary hair dryer sounds! Aaliya (?spelling?) was understanding and patient and Baxter apparently did very well! When we left, he even said "goodbye" to another dogs! The people working there did a great job with her making sure to be as safe as possible while cutting her nails. They also made sure to give her love and praise. We take our Australian Shepherd here when we simply don't have time or energy to bathe her ourselves. We've always been extremely pleased with the care and grooming that she gets. Her nails are clipped to perfection, her britches tidied up beautifully, and she's nice and clean. Kukui is almost 17 now, and is treated with the utmost kindness. Tory discovered that Kukui had a mammary tumor growing in her armpit, and we were so grateful that she was so observant. We got to the vet right away. Everyone is so nice there, and we're always greeted with a smile. read more

I took my two little chihuahuas here for snail trim. The gal who did the trims for both of them was fabulous! I could tell she really cared about my dogs, even though they weren't her own. My two chihuahuas can be very frightened and shaken easily, so I was so relieved to find a place I can trust, and will take them back to many times in the future! Their prices are also very reasonable, it was $8 for a full nail trim, per dog. I'm not sure if it would be more if you have a bigger dog. Overall I was very impressed and will be bringing my chihuahuas here all the time. read more

I took my Mini Aussie Spork in for grooming today. It was his first time here, I just moved and we needed a new place for him to get groomed so I decided to give this place a try. Everyone there was really nice, his groomer informed me that cutting down his type of coat over time could make it grow in coarse or patchy so she suggested that we de-shed and do a hygiene trim. Spork looks great and when I came to pick him up he seemed right at home. The price was really fair too, in my opinion. read more

We have 2 Himilayan cats who we scheduled appointments a week in advance. We dropped them off and were told to place their travel boxes on the counter in a rude way. 2 and a half hours later we received a call that they had brushed the cats out, but the cats "had had it" and I needed to come get them. They offered to reschedule because in a disciplinary way that they were "knotted and needed to be shaved". When we picked them up they were still on the counter in the boxes in the same spot. We took them to the car and looked inside their cases and they looked and felt that they had not even been touched. My major concern is on a humid day these 2 animals might have been left in their boxes for 2 and a half hours with numerous dogs barking in the background. When we got them home they immediately wanted water and hid and fell asleep. This place may be fine for dogs but please do not take your kitties to this business. read more

Love, love ,love this Groomer! My Mini American Shepard is shy and skittish but these professionals made him feel, look and smell amazing without causing the anxiety I was worried about. He was brushed to the point that his fur felt like a bunny's -so soft! He was trimmed perfectly and nails cut without any issue. All at a great price. I took my dog here and an hour after being there I got a call saying she had an accident. When I got there they said she got her tail caught in a kennel and a sharp wire in the kennel cut her and she lost half of her tail and had to have surgery. They paid for the surgery but they were so rude about it and seemed very put out even though it was their fault! I will never take my dog there again. The people were rude and their story didn't add up about how she "got her tail caught". read more

I am a perfectionist when it comes to my pets being groomed. I have gone from groomer to groomer for the past 3 years and have finally found the groomer for me. My 3 dogs (pomeranians) have never had a shinier coat. They cleaned them up REALLY well and brushed them so well I could run my fingers right through their coat. Ladies were SO nice and knowledgable of know Pomeranian problems (luxating patella and such). My girls also didn't seem to be too nervous when I picked them up (usually they are barking BLOODY MURDER). Overall I recommend them to someone who is REALLY picky with grooming (nail clipping, sanitary clips, etc) and who also does not want to pay an arm and a leg! GO Groomindales! read more

I have taken my12 year old lab to many places, but she is the happiest at Groomingdales. You can tell they love animals. When I go to pick her up she's just laying there waiting for me relaxed all ready to go, not stuck in a cage in the back somewhere. They let the dogs roam freely, providing they get along, they give them attention and it just shows they love what they do.
