My dentist said they will provide the referral and 3D scan to the root canal specialists I chose. I contacted Indy Endodontics (IE) because they accepted my dental insurance and received very good reviews. Upon contacting IE it didn't take to long to find out they wanted to charge me up to $315 to do another 3D scan. This was evident when they would not look at the 3D scan my dentist sent them on a CD and then attach in an email using Dropbox. I do not recommend this practice as long as they give a potential patient the run around. It is hard enough to go through a root canal when you have to have a crown drilled through to remove the calcified nerve. After contacting many other independent endodontists, I was able to get the work done more professionally from initial contact to completion. Senior Citizen

She called ahead letting the staff know she has a gag reflex with stuff put in her mouth. She reiterated this with Tom. She has zero issues with our dentist. When it came time for the treatment Tom put a 'catch' in her mouth so nothing would go down her throat which caused her to gag. Tom's response? Oh stop that! WTF? It's a reflex. It's not controllable! It went downhill from there. Tom was very condescending towards her. Totally dismissive of her feelings. Showed no patient care. Spoke down to her like she was a child. He gloated over is 25 years of experience, and how no one has ever gaged under his procedure. Oddly, all of the staff apologized for his behavior when he wasn't around. Zero respect for Tom and his ability to administer patient care with compassion. His ego gets in the way. Avoid if you have *any* issues with dentistry.

I read reviews, and called Dr. Rapp. His receptionist was able to set a consultation that was fairly soon, and went ahead and set up an appointment for a root canal, just in case, because they were scheduling in January already. When I saw Dr. Rapp yesterday, he said I did need a root canal, and explained the whole procedure to me, patiently waiting for any questions I had. He then had his receptionist put me on the cancellation list. I was called today (one day later)! I went in, and the procedure was as he described. He made sure I was completely numb, and explained everything as he was working. He asked how I was doing along the way. He showed extraordinary care the whole time. No one wants to have a root canal, but I have had much worse experiences having simple fillings.

On top of the sighs he kept telling her to quit crying knowing she is emotional, of course I took reasonable action and told him that all she needs is comfort and which I did, but when you are a Dr. your job is not to huff and puff but to care to that patient and make them feel welcomed as well as making them as comfortable as possible and if you can't do that as a Dr. then don't be a Dr. anytime I had a question he seemed very irritated about answering any of my questions meanwhile my girlfriend is loopy and not totally the most comprehensive with her current state at that moment. Overall the procedure went well no doubt about that but out of all that, the end of my review just lies with being a better person Dr. Rapp, treat people how you would like yo be treated not like they are any less than you just because you went to school to do something you don't seem like you enjoy. Especially when it comes to other people. You do your job to help others not to just get your pay check and leave.

I was in for an evaluation in 4 weeks then 1 week later for the root canal. The team at the Noblesville office were welcoming and kind. Dr. Morretton came in after staff did their x-ray of tooth #4 and explained the planned treatment and numbing needed. He numbed the area before injecting the area in front and back of the tooth, felt pressure but no pain. He the did some drilling and locating the nerve canals, then did each root canal. Advised to take Tylenol 500 mg and ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours as needed for pain and start before the anesthetic wore off. Took Tylenol initially as had in the car and took naproxen 440 mg when I arrived home. No pain after the 1st dose of pain meds. Pleased with the care and results received.

Everyone was so nice, talkative, and informative. They allowed me to fill out patient paperwork on an iPad which was efficient and easy to use. For the procedure itself, I was with Dr. Joseph Adams. He and his assistant were very friendly. They explained every step, took it slow and checked in with me a lot the whole time. They use really updated techniques, including a GentleWave system, which honestly I had never heard of before but seemed to be really efficient. Overall, it took about 40 minutes and it was completely painless. They took follow up x-rays and showed me the results after and it looked great. I really can't recommend this office enough. If I ever need another procedure like this, I will definitely come back.

I had to pay out of pocket and then deal with reimbursement. Tricare needed them to call and give a dental readiness category: 1,2 or 3. 1 is good, 2 is fine for the next year, 3 is bad. Tricare tried to contact them - they do not answer the phone. I tried to contact them - they do not answer the phone. I sent an email and got a snarkey email back that they already provided everything and would not be changing the classification. I sent several emails and finally someone calls me back and it became clear they did not understand the classification process (even though I sent the form that outlines what that means). They said they would follow-up, they did not. I sent a follow-up email - no response. I call the Indy office hoping someone there was maybe a managing partner- haven't received a response. This is unbelievably unprofessional. I am deploying in 2 months and can't get this resolved without their cooperation. At this point, I had to request a refund for the exam so I can go to another endodontist. Please do not go here if you utilize Tricare, even if you're self-pay.

Then she cleaned my husbands teeth and he complained about how she hurt his gums while cleaning his teeth. Then he said he needed to take painkillers after he got home. I also had my teeth cleaned a few weeks ago and she was too rough as well. We've never had this kind of experience there and have been patients for 10 years. This needs to be addressed. I'm not sure if she's new or not. Another issue is we have 2 free cleanings a year which is every 6 months with our insurance. They have been scheduling us every 8-9 months which most times is only once a year. If he has so many patients maybe it's time to hire another dentist to work with him. We should be scheduled every 6 months. Maybe it's time to find another dentist.

My first appointment, they were very thorough and made sure to explain everything that would be happening. I was able to ask questions and get the answers right then. The treatment I had took much less time than I expected. The endodontist was quick but does quality work. My dentist praised their work when I came back for follow ups, saying they did a great job--and usually do. My second appointment, they seemed less inclined to explain everything and more interested in getting things done. I had a mishap where I wasn't given enough numbing and felt a jolt of pain through my tooth while they were working. I'd told them I needed more than most people--genetic thing, unfortunately. He said he would give me more than he usually did, but not as much as the first time since they weren't doing as much invasive work. They said they didn't want me numb all day. But I'd rather take longer for it to wear off than feel that in the middle of a procedure. I was a bit miffed since I told them my needs multiple times. I mentioned I could feel something uncomfortable as they were propping me before the endodontist got started and the assistants made it sound like it was normal to feel it because of the type of tool they were using. It obviously wasn't because I then had the jolt of pain during the actual procedure. If I have to come back at some point, I'd advocate more forcefully for myself in that regard. But again, that was my only problem. They were very professional, kind, and didn't mind me bringing my weighted blanket or wearing my headphones the whole time. The end result was good according to my dentist. So I'd still recommend them.

Now that it's over I fell like a goober for how scared I was this morning. I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to the dentist...going to the endodontist would be a nightmare. Let me tell you, getting a root canal is not bad at all! Or maybe it's Dr. Ramsey and Annie! They brought me in and took great care of me. I was in and out in an hour and most of that was X-rays because Dr. Ramsey wanted to make sure the packing was perfect. I hardly felt a thing! Even now that I'm not numb anymore, I don't have any pain! None. I've always heard horror stories about root canals. Mine was a piece of cake. Seriously, I've had fillings that were worse.
