Disappointing and Painful Experience - Not What It Used to Be I've visited this spa in the past and had nice experiences, but unfortunately, our visit in June 2025 was a major letdown. From the moment we walked in, things felt off. The front desk staff seemed disorganized and distracted -- it was clear our appointment hadn't been properly noted, and there was a lot of back-and-forth yelling in another language, which didn't set a very welcoming tone. Once in the couples room, the experience went from disappointing to downright painful. I asked my therapist four times to please use less pressure, and while she acknowledged my requests, she didn't adjust at all. At one point, I even said "ouch" out loud. She would move to a different area, giving me hope things would ease up -- but they never did. I came home feeling like I'd been in a fight with a paintball machine. I had red marks and visible bruising the next day. I do appreciate a deep tissue massage, but this went far beyond therapeutic -- it was uncomfortable, distressing, and anything but relaxing. My fiance and I get a ton of massages, and tried this place out for a couples massage this week. I would say they're okay but definitely not pros. The good things: strong massages, full sessions that don't get softer toward the end. Can definitely work out some knots if you're looking for deep tissue. The not so good things: they move fast / strokes are bit more frenzied. I think their movements lack control, to put it one way. They do not ask about any areas to avoid or check in on pressure. You must be vocal on your own if you don't like something or need a change. My masseuse also basically took off my underwear entirely at first LOL. I pulled it back up. She pulled it back down. I had to then say "that's too low, keep it higher" and pulled it back up. So they're a little less aware of customer sensitivity to things and they also don't ask. I had to stop her twice when she hit my bone with her elbows too often and tell her that it hurt. If you're looking for a quick way to work out some soreness and are less sensitive, this place will be okay for you. If you regularly get massages for relaxation or have a lot of experience with massages, you may not like this place as much. read more

Was gifted a 5 pack of full body massages from a good friend and I have never been happier to receive such a perfect present!! l I have been getting massages for decades and this is for sure in my top 10. I have had met a few of the masseuses-who were great-but I keep returning to Lola; she is SUPERB and I would highly recommend her. She literally "finds" all your knots/tense areas and works on them until she feels a difference, and believe me-so do you. The hour seems to last forever and by the time you leave, you are so relaxed you feel like a jelly fish! My goal is to go every month because it is well worth the price. I've heard wonderful things about Grotto Spa so I was excited to try them. I called at 10:15 on a Friday morning and Gordon offered a 10:30 spot. How convenient, I thought. I was shown a room and waited for my massage therapist. I called the front desk three times to ask what was going on and each time, I was told the therapist would be with me shortly. After almost 40 minutes of waiting, I am done waiting. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced - they don't have enough staff (there is nobody manning the front desk) yet Gordon will tell you to come on in. Don't fall for it. read more

We are traveling in our RV and I chose here because of location and times availability. I must say here is THE BEST PLACE FOR A MASSAGE! because of traveling. I have a pain from lower back to feet. So I got the 90 minutes deep tissue massage and it was excellent. The girl ( I forgot her name) has extremely strong hands and was able to loosen up my tight muscles and relax my sore feet. The person at the front desk didn't speak English and called someone in a panic about our appointment arrival. Carrying the phone with her she left the room and came back still speaking frantically. We were then waived to follow her and she pointed for us to empty foot massage beds in the dark foot massage room for 4 where another couple was sitting up, talking quietly and obviously waiting. 30 minutes after our appointment time one person got water tubs going to soak our feet. After lots of shuffling around in the small room she started on my husband. 5 minutes later noises and hurried conversation from people arriving to the employee break room nearby. We could hear the refrigerator open and close then shuffling in and moving stools around to work on me. Now 40 minutes after our appointment time and I'm hoping the massage helps justify the 5 star rating advertised. Sadly it seemed the masseuse was going through the motions and came to help in a pinch but didn't have actual training. I got a quick scalp and neck rub, foot and leg rub then was told "that's it". Hands on time was probably 25 minutes. At the end my husbands masseuse asked him to flip over and was there for 15 seconds leaving him to wonder why he flipped over. I was never asked to flip over. We waited 40 minutes, were on the massage bed for 40 minutes including 5-10 minutes of foot soaking time where nobody touched us and the shuffling around of stools, moving foot water tubs in and out and getting supplies. Excluding the chaos which of course I give a zero stars, the massage was a rub so I give it 1 star. A huge waste of time and money but they still got tipped because they did something. read more

Unfortunately Google Reviews doesn't allow for 0 stars, so here I am, leaving a 1 star review. Now let me be clear, I don't leave reviews for anything, unless it's an overly positive experience. I'm not the bitter person that finds a reason to share their overly entitled opinions online, so for me to do this, just shows the anger I have right now. So on Thursday I booked a 60-minute massage on their website, I received an initial confirmation they received it, with a further call-to-action that they'd be sending me a finalized confirmation. I received it the next morning (yesterday morning). Now, my back has been a mess, I was very much looking forward to this massage to ease some of my pain. Today comes and I head off for my confirmed 2:00 pm appointment, I arrive 7 minutes early. When I arrive, the receptionist begins with an already confused look and asks if I have an appointment. So I pull up my confirmation on my cell phone and she again, looks confused. I give her my name and number and she tells me she has no appointments in my name or number. I told her I booked online and she says, "Oh. People usually call us for appointments. I didn't check online." There ya have it, that was the excuse why there was no availability for me, no rooms available. I was offered a 30 minute foot massage and 30 minute back massage (not for free, at cost). I took a pass on that. Grotto Spa will never get my money. read more

Super relaxing massage with Steven and Rita! I highly recommend them! I called in on Saturday for a same day appointment. They were very flexible & we were seen an hour later. Since there were 2 of us, we asked to be in the same room & they accommodated us. The spa is new and just open! Everything is so clean and tidy. There are numerous private & couple rooms. Our room was so nice. Dimly lit, extremely comfy massage bed & soft linen, & soothing music in the background. We could not hear anything going on outside of the room which is always my complaint at other massage places. Steven was amazing! He always made sure that the pressure was just fine for me & he gave me one of the best massages I have ever received! He knew where all my troubled areas were without me telling him! He took out many of the knots in my shoulders & lower back, & gave me such a gentle massage on my face. The oils he used felt & smelled great, my skin was smooth for days! Not the best but it could've been who I got to do the massage. Found it strange that she didn't massage my spine at all. Most done on my sides and the very top of my legs (which I didn't like, asked her to stop). They included a free cream that they usually charge $15 more for but I didn't see any benefit - didn't smell great or anything. I went to the spa this week for an oil massage. I let them convince me to upgrade, but the massage therapist was untrained. She kept uncovering me and opening the door--bad practice! She ended the massage early and didn't speak even basic English, which meant that she activated the areas that were most sensitive and didn't give proper attention to other aspects. The worse news is that about an hour afterward, my face broke out in tiny blisters. It's been three days, it's not clearing up. My skin used to be lovely and clear. Were the sheets dirty? Did they put some chemical on my face? I don't know, but I may need to see a doctor for this, because, as I say, it's not clearing up. I'd advise you to stay away from this spa is you're serious about self-care and health. Don't make my mistake. You're not saving money, or improving your health, unfortunately-- :-(. read more
