Without a doubt my favorite Deli shop in the Rock Hill and surrounding areas. Service, food quality and value are tip top here. I absolutely love the STP Dipper and Apollo Dipper. The bread and quality of meats are just the absolute best. Their 45 Sauce is great, but it's their Danish Blue Cheese Sauce that makes me weak in the knees. I always have to order extra everytime I visit, so, so good. You simply can't go wrong here whatsoever. I would have never know about Groucho's if Groupon didn't introduce us, so I must thank Groupon for hooking us up. I checked out Groucho's this afternoon and felt like I was back in college since it seemed to be all Wingate kids, except I had no rubber stamp on my hand from the night before and wasn't hungover. Regardless, it was so packed we ended up sitting at the counter facing Cherry Rd and WU campus. I thought the situation would be like a typical deli but turns out it's a sit down kind of place. Service was super quick and friendly, we were greeted right when we sat and had our sandwiches about 5 minutes after we ordered. I got the Brown Moose which was fantastic and you must try the Formula 45 sauce if you go--a nice combo of 1000 Island and French dressing. Funky? Yes. Tasty? Hell yes. Plus they have Dr. Brown's soda which just knocks my socks off so I was pleased with that. They have a lot of sandwiches so it can be overload but they have a decent selection of salads as well. They had a good number of beers and different coffee drinks on the menu (at prices cheaper than Starbucks) Parking in their lot was a bit tight but you could also do street parking if you can't find anything. I've been to several Groucho's in Columbia, but this location was just disappointing. I would think they were short staffed by how slowly someone came to our table once we sat except they have a huge chalkboard up to show you that there was only one person in charge of serving all the tables. I'm all for being patient, but it was almost to the point that I suggested leaving. Once our order was taken the food did arrive quickly, but was extremely underwhelming. First, they had no white bread for my son's grilled cheese. How a sandwich shop runs out of white bread mid-day is beyond me, but he was fine with a roll. Well he said he was except the roll came out burnt and hard. He just picked at it. My mom and I both got salads that were little more than a basket of iceberg lettuce. The 95 dressing was also very disappointing. I left still feeling hungry. I would say definitely steer clear of the salads! Perhaps it was my fault for trying to eat healthy at a sandwich shop known for their calorie laden dipping sauce, but my experience was so underwhelming I won't be back to try it again. read more

This is a great place for lunch or to hang out with friends. They always have new and fun beers to try and the service is always great. Something I wish they could improve upon are the tough hoagie rolls on some of the sandwiches, so you definitely can't have dentures to enjoy, but they have other amazing sandwiches to eat! Indeed he did! Groucho's isn't known for having the same food that other sandwich shops have. Groucho's is known for unique sauces and salads. After living in Cola for a number of years, I was happy to see Groucho's open a location across the street from one of the South's top-rated universities...Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. The food is great and the recipes are the same as the original location. The crowd is a mix of Winthrop professors and students, and locals. The service at Groucho's is always friendly, but they realize their priority is to take orders and deliver food. The price is moderate and the portions aren't skimpy. Just had lunch at Groucho's Deli. Very friendly and helpful wait staff. It was a decent place to stop for a quick lunch. We had corned beef sandwiches on Jewish rye bread. EXCELLENT flavor. HOWEVER...not much to the sandwich. Not like the deli sandwiches I have grown up on. The cost was good, only $6.39, but very little meat. Perhaps to keep the cost down. I would have preferred to pay an extra dollar and have a half of a sandwich to take with me, rather than feeling hungry when I left. Yes, I will give it one more try while visiting Rock Hill. We were in Rock Hill yesterday for a soccer tournament and only had 1.5 hours in between matches. We were hungry but needed someplace we could get in and out of quickly. It didn't help that it was lunch time, so crowded. There were lots of food joints to choose from, but I'm glad we chose this one. Went here today with my wife. She had the "my wife's salad". I had the dtp special. My sandwich looked big.... Until I picked it up. The bread smushed in and I thought, OK, fluffy white bread. Until I bit into it. More like rubbery. Not being the pessimistic type. I gave her, (my wife) a bite. She was not impressed. I ate the three bites that were left of it, only to notice that my wife had stopped eating her salad all together. When I asked her what was wrong, she slid the basket over to me. You'll be better off going to Sub Station II next door. We went here for lunch this past weekend. I ordered the Green and Pasta, which turned out to be a scoop of pasta salad on top of lettuce and tomato. Very few other toppings. I expected more of an "entree" type salad for the price. My husband had a chicken sandwich. He also felt like we overpaid, and the chicken had no flavor. Likely just frozen and microwaved. We take part of the blame on that, as chicken generally isn't great from a deli and perhaps we should've thought of that before ordering. Then again, with a popular chain like Groucho's (with numerous chicken items on the menu), it does seem like they'd put more emphasis on flavor. Their Formula special sauce is good. Service was very slow and it wasn't all that crowded, though I assume they were slammed with to go orders. Again, if this was our only deli option, I may be more forgiving. My husband and I went to Groucho's for dinner specifically because we got a coupon for Groucho's in the mail this week for buy one Sandwich and get one free as long as you purchase 2 drinks . Today is 4/20 and the coupon is good through the first week of May. We went and ordered our 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks. Upon going to pay, the waitress tells us that the coupon is expired. I show her that it clearly says it's good through the first week of May and she said something about the coupon being sent out in error. She talked to her manager who said he would consider honoring if we purchased 2 drinks to go. We ordered water with our dinner, and Groucho's charges for water, so we assumed that since we ordered drinks that we paid for, that would be cover us for the coupon. They refused to honor the coupon even though we paid for two drinks and had a coupon with a valid date. They offered no other consolation. This has been a regular date night spot for us, but we do not plan on going back anytime soon after this experience. read more
