Very sweet coffee. I was disappointed with my honey vanilla iced latte. For the price, it was way too sweet, and they ran out of whole milk. I couldn't finish it. The nitro cold brew was good. It had good flavor. The Italian soda was also pretty good. It was on the sweet side though. Overall, I will not return. The drinks were way too sweet. The coffee overall was good, it was not acidic. But the level of sweetness is Vietnamese coffee sweet. Not my cup of coffee. read more

We tried the sausage breakfast tacos (premade), bacon breakfast sandwich (made to order), a vanilla latte and drip coffee. The tacos were better than the breakfast sandwich -- bacon on the sandwich wasn't very crispy. Would definitely get the tacos again though. Vanilla latte was pretty good but the drip coffee was just below average IMO. The inside is a bit small, but cozy with a variety of seating options. We were in the area running errands and noticed that Grouchy John's Coffee was nearby. It's been on our radar and so glad there's a location close to home. Items tried and liked (so far): Butter Beer (regular & decaf) Wampa Cold (decaf) O.G. Cold (regular) Caramel Macchiato (decaf) Everything was delicious with no bitter aftertaste taste. They also have decaf which I appreciate :) From what we could see on the menu, decaf isn't listed but if you ask for it, they have it. Service was excellent. Grouchy John's was a random little spot I seen on the corner of a pizza spot in centennial, or so I thought! Grouchy John's will now be a staple for weekend coffee in my household. The coffee was so hearty but light! The taste was quality, especially because the strength of the coffee and the sweetness ratio matched perfectly. The ambiance was super chill, there were so many different types of people getting their fix. Grouchy John's had a donation box for backpacks and kid stuff for the holidays which added to their friendly/ fun atmosphere. My favorite coffee spot -- Grouchy John Coffee I absolutely love Grouchy John Coffee! The place is so cute, cozy, and has such a welcoming vibe. My favorite part is that it opens early -- perfect for an early bird like me. I usually go around 6 a.m. to enjoy my coffee while doing my Bible study or catching up on homework. I love that it's quiet in the mornings, often just me there, and the music is calm and not too loud. The staff are always so kind and make me feel right at home. I was craving a smoothie and looked up places on Yelp that were open around 8:30 in the morning. Grouchy John's Coffee was one of the first places that showed up on the search and it's right near my house too! The location used to be a lulu's breakfast spot, but now it's Grouchy John's Coffee. Grouchy John's Coffee is right next to Metro Pizza. There is plenty of parking spaces available. When I walked into the Coffee shop, I wasn't greeted by any of the team members. I looked at the menu and noticed they had a wide variety of options such as smoothies, coffee, baked goods like donuts, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and even breakfast options such as wraps! Inside, there are plenty of table and booth seating available. Some of the booth seating had chargers built-into the table right next to the seats, which is nice, especially if you wanted to work on your laptop at the coffee shop. I ended up ordering the following to go The peanut butter, banana, and chocolate smoothie. I saw the picture on Yelp and it looked amazing! (Medium) The Matcha Smoothie with whipped cream (Large). The first team member came out and asked if I had ordered a iced coffee. I let her know that I didn't and she found the other customer who did. After waiting about 10 minutes, the smoothies had arrived! I didn't taste test the smoothies at the coffee shop and ended up bringing the smoothies home! The first thing I noticed was that the peanut butter smoothie was missing the chocolate flavoring. When I took a sip of the smoothie at the house, I noticed it had coffee in the smoothie. I don't drink coffee. My husband ended up drinking it instead. The Matcha smoothie was just okay. It tasted more like a slushy. I'm not really sure what happened with the order. I'm glad I had a chance to try out Grouchy John's Coffee. I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon though. read more

I'd definitely visit Grouchy John's Coffee again (on a cooler day or when their AC is working). This coffee shop is adjoined to Metro Pizza. There are an entryway into the pizza shop directly from the coffee shop. I visited for the first time yesterday with my family. I got a good chuckle from the nerdy beverage names on the menu. I caught that a few were Star Wars themed. I visited around 1p so I would assume this was why the pastry case was about empty. The few pastries and bagels that were left didn't look too great but again, this was well into the afternoon so I would like to assume they look a lot fresher early morning. The coffee shop was quiet and not busy at all but definitely groups occupying different corners of the space. I was able to grab a table for four in the middle of the shop. The table didn't appear to be wiped down so I grabbed some napkins and sanitizer. After wiping it down it still looked unclean but I think the furniture may just be older. This was apparent from the chairs as well. Aside from that the service was great! The baristas were able to answer the menu questions I had. I ordered an iced cinnamon dolce and the evil monkey. The barista warned me that the banana in the evil monkey was "polarizing" but I ordered it anyway and surprise; I wasn't a fan. The cinnamon dolce was REALLY good though! The server that brought the drinks to the table was also very friendly. This is a great place to pop in for a drink and get some work done. Stopped by here for a morning coffee!!! It's hidden in the corner but once you're inside this place is super cute and spacious. There was multiple people studying so it is a quiet environment. I ordered the butter me up iced latte! It's definitely rich in cookie butter and the bottom has like a sort of paste or mouse? That chunks up with you sip through the straw! The latte was phenomenal. The Rushmore Cold, featuring white chocolate and hazelnut, became an absolute delight when blended, offering a masterful balance of flavors that avoided excessive sweetness. Initially visiting for a meeting anticipated to conclude within an hour, I surprisingly spent three hours here. This location demonstrated itself to be an ideal spot to relax with several cups of coffee or a smoothie, complemented by a baked item or a food menu selection, including wraps with customizable protein options of turkey, chicken, or ham, along with vegetables, cheese, and spreads. Good morning yelpers! Here on a Saturday morning at 10:00 am, this is my first trip to Grouchy John's (GJ). Stepping in, the vibe is very calm and low key. Instrumental music is playing, but very faintly over the rumble of the espresso machines whirling and the occasional chatter between cashier and customer. The coffee shop is bigger than expected and resembles zero redundant and lifeless food chain qualities. HOORAY!! The ceilings are high and unfinished with a beautiful chandelier. The seating ranges from high counter tops, individual standard height tables and a pleather couch area complete with table and chairs ideal for playing board games with friends. The service was friendly and efficient. I got my cold brew latte in less than 5 minutes. I almost forgot to mention, for a Saturday morning, the coffee shop only has 7 people inside. There is a small Star Wars theme to the coffee shop as some of their food/drink items are cleverly named after movie characters. The bathrooms are located through the barn doors into the Metro Pizza side of the building. Just follow the restroom sign on the door to your right from the barn door. Overall, customer service is very pleasant and attentive. I stayed at GJ until about 1pm and the busiest time was around 1130-1200 with around 30 people inside (ordering, sitting down, waiting for food/drinks). After that "rush" it went back to being laid back with around 10 people including myself, five or take 1-2 people coming in and out for to-go orders. I did not have any food on this visit, but I intend to try their avocado toast and mango smoothie next time. Hopefully you give GJ a try, and leave a thoughtful review. My first time here and it was a great first impression. We were greeted by the staff as soon as we walked in. The cafe was pretty small but gave off cozy vibes. I appreciate when coffee shops have a menu right next to the register because it makes it easy to see. I had the cinnamon dolce and thought it was okay but my brother had the butter beer and that was pretty good. I will be coming back to try different flavors!
