Travis worked with us to design a drought-tolerant landscape with a combination of astroturf and xeriscape, as well as limestone paver walkways with black granite and black steel edging to go with the aesthetics of our modern ranch. Our third party inspector noted that many landscape companies do not weld the steel edging to the stakes, but Travis's crew welded all of the connections and the steel seems thicker than what we had at our previous home. We chose Thrive because of other Google reviews combined with our interactions with Travis during the quote and design process. We found the same to be true as other reviewers, which was his crew was very positive, helpful, energetic, and some of the hardest workers on our project. Greg finished the job and was supposed to come back and finish a few parts of the job that his team didn't do correctly (loose decking, broken fence post, incorrect light fixtures). I originally made an…read moreappointment with them for a few days later to just have my sprinklers checked after the winter. Then I went to turn on my sprinklers so they would have some water while I waited and found my sprinkler control panel was a mess and resetting it didn't fix the problem. I told On The Spot Sprinkler Repair about this and they recommended I got an inexpensive replacement sprinkler control system from Amazon which then arrived the same day. I told the repair service that I was now in a bit of a rush since I went from maintenance needs to a completely broken system, and they squeezed me in the next day which was EXTREMELY nice of them! Oh, and it turns out that my sprinklers were fine after the winter, I just had a busted control system -- perhaps from an electrical surge so I am now protecting the system with a UPS/surge protector setup. (I had an old UPS that I was going to throw away but it had plenty of juice left in it for such a little control system.) All communications with them were very fast and professional and On The Spot Sprinkler Repair was very knowledgeable which is not always the case with repair people.

They agreed to take the project and we had several meetings to work on the design, After a few months came back with an estimate for 240K and had tried to get me to sign off on final design before even seeing the estimate from them. I told them this is not within the budget I had given them and they came back a week later with an estimate for 130K. They also stated this was standard process to come back with an estimate this over what the original budget was. I asked for my money back because the designs were useless at this point. I only received a fraction of my money back and got absolutely nothing for the thousands of dollars and months of time I wasted working with them.
