Me and my wife love groundhouse, it's one of 3 coffee shops we visit. They are Christian based and always very friendly with a smile even when busy, they also have a beautiful interior of paintings and rustic walls to enjoy looking at while sitting on a comfy couch by the window or a table with plug ins for your electronic devices. Incredible coffee. Brew strength could be a bit stronger but not enough to ding them on the star rating. Coffee was hot and good. Their food looks amazing but i ate to much yesterday. I would highly recommend the drip coffee. It was their Brazilian roast.... got my son and came back to get a breakfast crepe - 8.5 out of 10 on the crepe. Still worth 5 stars. read more

My absolute favorite place!!! I have been coming here for awhile now and my drinks never fail to put a smile on my face. they taste so dang good and the staff is so so so friendly. I have never had a bad experience here. I am able to study quietly and get work done while enjoying the alternative music they play inside. I had a great 1st experience here today! The customer service was awesome. The two girls that were working were super sweet. There was a really large group there when I first got there so it was kind of loud, but I stayed for a while to read and at started to get quieter as they all phased out. But I love that they have so much space in this building to offer large groups like that to hang out in a really open space. They have really great lighting up front so I planted myself in one of their super comfortable chairs. Prior to visiting I checked out their menu which is really full of all different types of coffee and non coffee drinks. All different types of a flavor combinations and different types of teas. The crepes and biscuits and burritos and COFFEE (so good) and everything was incredible. The staff was super friendly and the interior was well decorated. This place recently started up in an old building right in the center of Gardner, and my wife has been anxiously awaiting the opening because the space is just right for a coffee shop. This morning, we rounded up our little person and headed in. The steam from the espresso had fogged up some of the windows, but the smell of coffee was just right as soon as we walked in. The coffee was good, the staff was nice, and the cinnamon roll was just right. I expect that I'll be back on a regular basis. They've taken the time to work out most of the business and marketing details -before- opening and have a professional web presence already. The furnishings are really nice and they have placed a good deal of time, thought, and expense into planning a nice space. The kids play area is really nice and was a hit right away; the play area at Eden Alley on the plaza has just been one-upped. There's a larger table in the back (great table!) that looks to be an ideal space for a simple business or group meeting. read more

I make a concerted effort and will go out of my way in order to support local business. On Wednesday, I was doing just that when I took my teen daughter in to Groundhouse Coffee around 9:45am. I was pleased to see approximately seven patrons seated inside and out enjoying their beverages and pastries sans masks. As I was parking I also noted a gentleman older than myself enter the coffeehouse barefaced. As I entered, the same gentleman was leaving and was still bare faced, breathing freely. I am an individual who is unable to wear a mask. Exemptions are laid out very clearly in the county mandates. As I approached the register, the barista asked me if I had a mask. I smiled and politely informed her that I cannot wear one. She then stated she would not serve me without a mask. I asked if the coffeehouse was not honoring exemptions and was told no, they were not. She told me I would need to go to Groundhouse's other location. That did not happen and it won't ever happen. My family will never spend another penny with this establishment. This is blatant discrimination and I hope others see this all for what it is. I did not make a scene. I did not berate or talk down to the barista. I did not go into a tirade about how nonsensical it is to believe that one can spread or contract the virus while standing up or moving freely about a room but not when seated and eating or drinking in that same space. It is mind boggling the silliness of that thought process. I did not rant about my freedoms and rights being infringed upon in order to appease the irrational fears of a conditioned society. I simply left to never return. I am only one person and while I know losing my business won't affect the bottom line for Groundhouse nor will it change their practice of blatant discrimination, perhaps my voice will give others courage to stand up for themselves. I will share far and wide my experience. And my teen daughter who has frequented Groundhouse more than myself, AND WAS MASKED on Wednesday, will share with all of her friends as well. She learned a valuable lesson that day. So perhaps something good did come out of the ugly. read more

This place is kind of a jack-of-all trades: coffee, lunch, and a mini bookstore. The vibe is very typical of a coffeehouse in that it offers a myriad of seating arrangements and it's spread out. I ordered the Euphoria flavored (lightly) iced latte; it started out VERY sweet, but died down in flavor significantly after about 5-10 minutes. It wasn't too memorable or distinct for me, but it was fine. To eat, I got a Chocolate Monkey crepe (they do crepes Fri-Sun from 9a-1p), and that was pretty delicious. I've also had the Chicken Jack savory crepe and remember liking that very much. What I appreciated most was that they actually promote and sell books from local writers, teen and adult. I'll come back here for their crepes, but would probably elect to get one of their non-coffee drinks to accompany it. read more

Yes! This is a great little place located in a historic storefront in downtown Gardner, Kansas. The atmosphere is very nice, clean and relaxed. And the service behind the counter is prompt and VERY friendly. They offer the standards in coffee house offerings, as well as monthly specials, like most places. I love their "kick in the face" which most places refer to as a Red Eye, Slammer or Shot in the Dark. My wife loves the skinny vanilla latte. They have some baked goods all of the time. But, they also serve crepes certain days a week. We are new to the area, so I have not quite grasped when those are served. They just recently opened up a second location further down Center Street on the other side of Gardner, KS that is a freestanding location with a drive through. We went there this weekend and the service was fast and friendly as well! Definitely would recommend this place. Very family friendly and lots of good seating. Also, plenty of places to plug in your laptop. read more

Just left here with cookies, cinnamon rolls for Advanced Aviation group, where our TCommander N947LM is parked for several hours today. So...the cinnamon rolls are real good and liked. I had a bite of chocolate chip cookie and was ok. Better for dipping though. Carrot cake is pretty good. Coffee drink just right. And I will allow 5 Stars. Good people/ladies attending my 'theft' of most the goodies. I decided, at last moment, to not take all of some items and they offered a refund.
