Today was a huge flop for The Bean or Scratch... not sure where they're at in the process, as the branding for all items is still different for each item :( First, we tried ordering online with three failed attempts although it charged our bank three separate times as processing payments, the gal at the counter stated that it "should be removed." I ordered an extra hot, banana & hazelnut latte with an extra shot. It had zero flavor but was the correct temp to put a positive spin in there. The Strawberry cold foam cold brew was tasty so positive number two, but a tad bit sweet just so you can make an informed decision. The blueberry scone was okay, kind of dry so nothing spectacular. Last but not least; my favorite breakfast item!!! The chorizo breakfast burrito that's $7.50 BEFORE salsa or sour cream, yep that's a separate cost, was hardly edible. The burrito that I'm trying to eat is dry and has little to no filling inside. This isn't the typical quality of a Scratch burrito. I truly hope that their merge isn't going to put a damper on things because I truly want to continue our visits. read more

More than 10 customers in there and the WiFi gets super sketchy. Has caused me to leave early several times. Only thing stopping a 5-star rating. read more

The breakfast burrito used to be one of the reasons we loved coming here. Used to. Now it's basically just eggs and potatoes wrapped in disappointment. The meat is either an afterthought or completely missing. It's sad watching something that was once great slowly turn into a cheap shortcut. Plenty of tables and seating, but not a lot of comfy seating / couches. Staff was welcoming and helpful as my husband and I explored the menu, lots of options. I loved that they had locally made syrups instead of just the plastic bottles that sit on shelves for years. Good coffee, decent prices for flavored lattes. Their strawberry poptart was okay - glad we warmed it up but I think it was just microwaved so it lost any flake/texture to the crust. I'd come back and support this local shop! read more

This is quaint but cute, desolate coffee shop in Springhill, KS. I had seen it on Google searches before whenever I was in the area and trying to find a different coffee shop. This past week, my husband and I finally got a chance to stop in here. When we did we were hungry and happy to learn they sold paninis here. We both had the southwest chicken one, and although I didn't notice anything southwest about it, it was pretty good. The cheese was gooey, so nothing wrong with that. We had already had our drip coffee, and wanted something different. As I checked things on the menu, I noticed that they sell Hammerhand coffee, from up in Liberty, MO, which was interesting. They also sell scratch bakery items from K.C. We both ended up having their oat pistachio latte, cold, which was very tasty. I wished I lived closer since most stopped offering pistachio lattes. The baristas were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. I would recommend anyone near the area to stop by. The place is spacious and accommodating. Although they have tables near outlets, the chairs aren't too comfortable for a long stay, but they do have a cozy couch to sit at for a while. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Very spacious, clean, aesthetically pleasing, and excellent pastry selection. Their menu is plentiful and includes coffee, lattes, frappes, smoothies, and refreshers. The baristas are very kind and take care of each customers. I came in mid-morning and it was a quiet Wednesday, but I could imagine this place being popular on the weekends. I ordered a blueberry scone and one of their seasonal "Girl Scout lattes" and it was also delicious. I could not recommend this place more, I just wish it was closer! read more

Who knew that such a cute coffee shop was tucked away in old downtown Spring Hill. When visiting family in town, I premeditatedly make my way into the Bean Coffee Co for their small, but delightful selection of drinks, pastries and brunch food. Just some of their highlights: the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese is so unique; sweet and spicy jalapeño cream cheese on a ham and bacon melt. Secondly, I dig their Matcha Frappe. They boast all of the health benefits of it, but even without those antioxidants, I think it's an improved creamy take on a green tea frappe! Finally, I'm super excited for the fall as they just unveiled their Pumpkin Chai Latte. The slight pumpkin flavor peaks through the "spiciness" of the chai in both the iced and warm versions. Overall, I'm very pleased to have found this gem. It can get costly between the food, drinks and their wonderful berry pop-tarts, but I find it is well-worth it. read more

I had heard great things- but found it average. My sandwich was fine - turkey, bacon panini- nothing special but not bad. My friend got a different sandwich and didn't like it at all, she couldn't find the cheese and sandwich was dry. The workers were not accommodating to her dissatisfaction at all- just helped her dig thru her sandwich to find the cheese and said they are premade so another would be the same. Odd they didn't just have a piece of cheese they could put on for her and some sauce. We both got coffee, they were small for the price. I did take a lemon cookie and scone home that were good, but probably not enough to come back, there are better coffee shops. read more

I had such good time here! My friend and I sat on the chairs up up front and we loved being able to be by the windows and take in the small town feel of where we were in Springhill! It's on a street where you can shop some antiques and go to a cute boutique before/after. They serve Messenger Coffee here so I knew I'd love it! We stopped in Saturday morning for a coffee. We love exploring local coffee shops and The Bean is a good one! We ordered a strawberry smoothie, quiche, and an affogato (espresso and ice cream). The smoothie was good. The quiche was a nice sized slice with sausage, peppers, and potatoes. What really excited me was the food items are sourced from Scratch Bakery in Prairie Village and they do not disappoint! The star of our order was the affogato. It was one of the best ones e have ordered with a generous scoop of ice cream and the espresso was hot and smooth. Next time we are in Spring Hill we will definitely stop by. read more

Such a cute little coffee shop in Spring Hill! This place really stands out along Main Street! The space is awesome, I loved the furniture and there are tons of seating options from bar stools to a couch to tables. I do think it would be great if they got a little more wall art up along the left wall, but that's something that may be coming soon. We came for breakfast, so we had a variety of treats. We picked a cinnamon roll (that was warmed), a Belgian waffle, and a breakfast burrito. My boyfriend had a caramel latte to drink and I had an iced toffee nut latte with almond milk. The coffee was good, I loved the syrup I picked for mine! The cinnamon roll was delicious, and so worth being heated! My favorite was the waffle - it had pearl sugar that added a great crunchy sweetness and berries on top. It was so good it didn't even the syrup! The burrito was pretty average, but I noticed they changed up how they do the burritos since we visited. They are now bigger and seem to be made differently, so I would definitely give them a try. I've heard great things about the Belgian waffle sandwich, so I would definitely make the drive back to give that a try! read more

Decided to venture to an unexplored (by me) town for Small Biz Saturday and so glad I did! There's a few cute shops on the one block Main Street and this coffee shop is the cutest of them all. I needed some late breakfast, so opted for the Grown Up Grilled Cheese. I'm dairy and gluten free but it sounded so good, I decided the possibility of the rest of the weekend in bed was worth it. And boy did it deliver. Spicy and savory, just what the post Thanksgiving doctor ordered. Berry Branch and Our Front Porch are right next door - check them out, too. I opened my door & they placed my order direly in the back for me! They even stayed open late for us! Coming from OP; it's a short 15-20 minute drive & we would arrive 15 mins late. This is a locally owned and operated coffee shop. Pricing seems a little steep for beverages and it being a small town, but it is better than Starbucks. It would be nice if they had a an outdoor patio. Sometimes they have chairs out front during nice weather. They have baked goods which overall are pretty good.
