My partner and I purchased a truck from this dealership less than one year ago, and from the very beginning it has been one issue after another. It has had multiple mechanical issues requiring repeated trips back to the dealership for service. There's even a time when the truck has spent close to two months in the shop while we continued making payments on a vehicle we couldn't even use. It felt like every time we got the truck back, within a day or two it had to be returned because another issue had surfaced. A brand-new truck should not require this level of service or repairs. At this point, it's clear there is a much larger underlying problem. Beyond the inconvenience, I no longer feel safe driving this truck. Several of the issues we've experienced have raised serious concerns about its reliability and safety. Despite the extensive repair history, the only solution we've been offered is to continue replacing parts and attempting more repairs. After so many recurring problems, we do not believe continuing to patch the vehicle is a reasonable resolution. We expected to purchase a reliable, safe, brand-new truck--not one that has spent months in the service department. At this point, we believe the appropriate resolution is either to replace the truck with a new, defect-free vehicle or to refund the purchase price so we can move forward and purchase a different vehicle. Gosh, I hate giving bad reviews but I tell 'em like I experience 'em. So my husband bought a GMC truck but it didn't come with a key fob so we picked this GMC dealership to get it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]First off, trying to call this place and talk to a human is nearly impossible. I called and was on hold so long, I hung up and called back... and sat on hold again. Same thing happened to my husband.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When he eventually got ahold of someone, he ordered the part and was told it would be a day or two for it to come in and he scheduled the programming for the next week, just to be safe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well, I volunteered to take the truck in for the service appointment. I got there a bit early, went to the parts department to get the key fob... only, for some reason, IT WAS NEVER SENT. At no point were we notified. They said they would try to find one locally so I didn't have to come back. Claimed it would be about a half hour. Now, we were told the programming was about an hour so i originally planned to be there for an hour... WHEN ALL WAS SAID AND DONE, I WAS THERE FOR SLIGHTLY OVER THREE HOURS. For my "trouble" I was told I would get 10% off the part but conveniently, their system was down and extra fees were tacked on and honestly, I paid more than we expected WITH the "discount". I still couldn't get the math to add up to what we paid no matter how many times I crunched the numbers. I felt like the guy lied right to my face. DO NOT GO THERE! Made an appointment for an oils change at 1pm. Did not get finished until 4pm. Also had them replace purge valve because check engine light was on. Once they finished I left and my car drove like a lawnmower. How do you bring your car in for routine maintenance and leave with it in WORSE condition. Beware! Beware! Beware! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! Do not waste your time or money at Sterling McCall Buick GMC. I encountered 3 major issues during my purchase process, and two major ones remain unresolved. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Based on my conversation with Chris Allen, it's clear they have no intention of fixing these problems because, as he put it, "it was my fault for not reading the contract."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He's right, it was my fault for not thoroughly reviewing the contract. But I mistakenly believed I was dealing with professionals. Clearly, I was wrong. Issues: 1. Changed Loan Terms Without Notice I agreed to a 72-month loan term at a specific monthly payment. However, without my knowledge, the terms were switched to 75 months. The change wasn't apparent to me until a few days later (again, I admit I should have reviewed the contract more carefully). However, I trusted the dealership to uphold the agreement we made. When I brought this up, I was essentially blamed for not catching it before signing. The best part was during our conversation he insinuated that I changed the terms in financing and now was trying to blame it on them to get something extra! To be clear I do not want anything extra, just what was agreed upon originally! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The attitude I encountered was dismissive and made it seem like this type of behavior--"let's see if they notice the change"--might be common practice here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 2. Vehicle under business name I filled out the application under my business name, and the vehicle was supposed to be registered accordingly. Instead, it was registered under my personal name. When I pointed this out the next day, financing assured me it was a simple fix that could be done via e-signature. of course It never happened. The Proposed "Solution" again by Chris Allen offered was to refinance the vehicle--at my own expense (a $3K cost). That would mean I'd have to pay for their mistakes. Seriously? 3. Charged twice for my downpayment: this was resolved At the end of the day, this dealership's unprofessionalism and complete lack of accountability left me feeling taken advantage of. If you're considering buying from Sterling McCall Buick GMC, think twice. Based on my experience, they are either incompetent or deliberately deceptive. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere and support a company that actually cares about there buyers, even if your payments are a little higher. I will never return again, I got the transmission fluid running hot warning , and was told by Basil the service advisor that I needed a new transmission. He gave me an invoice for over $8k, and that my extended warranty would not cover it. I denied the service and took my truck only after paying the $170 diagnostic fee, because it just didn't seem right that the transmission wasn't jerking nor acting weird other than the running hot error. I took it to another place where they installed a transmission cooler for $700 total, and guess what ? It's been running fine since. May 30,2024 i had an oil change appt plus the free tire rotation & car wash. My appt was at 10 or 10:30 am. People who got there way after me left before me so I was starting to question what's going on. I kept my composure & respectfully waited more. I had a very important obgyn visit @ 2:30 pm 20 minutes away. About 1:40 my 2024 buick was pulled up. It was clean & shiny. I took a look noticed 2 deep scratches on my hood & a mark or something not sure what to make of it on my rear passenger door. I notified the "advisor" & he notified the "service manager" Mike. They offered to buff out the scratches i told them that wasn't good enough they were deep. That night I went to put gas & i walked around my car as it pumped & i noticed paint missing off some side pieces by my back passenger doors. I was enraged. My experience with Sterling McCall Buick-GMC was pretty bad. My wife is in the market to purchase a vehicle and went onto the Sterling McCall website to find a vehicle and found a GMC Acadia for $13,987. We applied for financing online, conversed via text, then made an appointment to come in the following day. The following day, we visited the dealership and the salesman that had been talking to us, Keith Mack, was busy and handed us off to a salesman named Leo. We told Leo that we wanted the Acadia, but he said it was at a different Sterling McCall dealership and would try to have it transferred over. Several hours passed, we just sat there, and nothing happened. They then asked if we wanted to see a Yukon while we waited, pulled up in a pretty busted looking Yukon with fading paint on the hood and roof, the hood didn't latch, and interior pieces were coming apart. We had no idea how much that Yukon cost but later found it was $22k. After that, they basically said they had no interest in bringing the Acadia over from Sterling McCall Nissan and asked if we'd be interested in a low mileage Suburban. We looked at the Suburban, it was nice, low mileage, and pretty clean. We decided we liked it and would try to get financed for it. The Suburban was $4,000 more expensive and they wanted several thousand more dollars down. I told them that we had a budget and that the payment had to be within a certain range and they came in $40 dollars over the max payment that we wanted to pay. They then started to shame us for not being able to pay $40 a month more, for a vehicle that we initially didn't want and was over our price range. They acted like we wasted their time, despite the fact that they refused to show us the vehicle we wanted and made us sit there for hours, pretending to work on transferring a vehicle that they claimed was in the process of being sold (it's still at Sterling McCall Nissan.) On the way out the door, I told Leo and Keith that we would work on trying to get a larger down payment and would be back. Three days later, we found a way to come up with a larger down payment, tried to call both Leo and Keith, and both, upon finding out who we were, refused to respond to messages. It's really not surprising to see low ratings for this dealership on Yelp, they have acted very unprofessionally and I'd highly recommend that you go to a different GMC/Buick dealer in Houston. read more

Do NOT trust your Buick to this service department. For 6 years my 2017 Encore went through a battery every year. That's 6 batteries in 7 years! Every September I would bring the Encore in, the service advisor and "mechanics" would shrug and just say they had no idea what was draining the battery, and I'd pay for labor, since the battery would still be under warranty. Finally, when the battery started draining this year, I took the Encore to a different place. Within days, the new place had determined the issue: a computer in the dashboard wasn't shutting down when the car was turned off. The Encore now has a new computer and the problem is resolved. Why couldn't the Buick "specialists" figure this out? I even let them keep the car multiple days to determine the problem, but it went unresolved there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once my car was fixed I emailed Kimono Cooper, who I'd met last year when my car was getting its 6th battery, to tell him about the fix and express my disappointment with their service. Did I get a reply to my email? Of course not.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd send the email to Buick corporate if I could find an email address that wasn't just a "contact us" trash bin. Low oil pressure warning started to show up after an oil change here. I had it towed back, and they drove it around, claimed nothing was wrong and gave it back to me. The warning was still there. This happened several times and lasted over a week. I tried calling and visiting their service manager multiple times and was never able to reach him. So I reached out to Buick. After dealing with Buick support several times, the mechanic finally decided to check the oil filter, and said that it fell apart in his hands. They fixed it, but still charged me for the oil change and the tow trucks, and I'm concerned about permanent damage caused by their mechanics driving it without oil. I left this review on Google 6 months ago, and the owner replied asking me to contact them. I did so, but they never replied. I never got a refund, and my car engine is sounding louder than it used to and is starting to shake despite having another oil change immediately after the bad experience at this dealership. I think they caused permanent damage to my engine. Do not trust this dealership for any repairs. read more

To make a long story short I was very irritated and mad after the games they played but was also lied to on several occasions. We even had purchased vehicles from them before has had a family member We did purchase the same vehicle at another dealer in a different color. Within 4 days of buying a 2018 BMW 530 at Sterling McCall, the coolant in the vehicle leaked on the ground. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The salesman told us 'they would take care of everything.' After this point, there was no communication for nearly a week[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Sterling took car to BMW---who confirmed that the coolant system needed replaced as well battery, motor mounts, and tire sensors replaced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Sterling salesman informed me that 'Everything that BMW identified on the estimate was being taken care of. Not just the coolant'[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. On 8/12 I was told the air conditioning was not working and that 'they were taking vehicle back to BMW to recharge air conditioning'. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told through a very curt, rude text that the vehicle was ready and they 'did me a favor and provided me with a full tank of gas'.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Per the invoice, Sterling only performed half the work listed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sales manager stated he does not have to honor anything his salesmen tells customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The manager stated they would not be doing the rest of the work regardless of what we were told multiple times by the staff there. I was told at the end that they would do us a 'courtesy' and pay for half of the remaining work whenever it was convenient for my schedule if I choose. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During the next repair interaction and over a week on no communication from Sterling, we found the air conditioning was not working.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When speaking to the BMW service director, I found that Sterling lied about what occurred with the air conditioning initially--they performed the AC recharge at Sterling and there is no documentation on what type of AC recharge was performed. Regardless, AC repair cost was ~ $5000. I spoke with the Sterling sales manager as this was certainly a preexisting condition AND Sterling lied about how they initially serviced the air conditioner. The vehicle was listed as having air conditioning on their website when it was for sale and, in fact, that is not the truth. The Sterling sales manager stated that he absolutely refused to fix this at all. He literally stated they sale cars all the time without air conditioning and as it is not a safety issue, they are not liable to fix it. I spoke with the Sterling McCall GMC Buick used sales manager at that point. Again, I drove the vehicle 2 days total by this point, the mileage proved this. This was certainly a preexisting condition AND Sterling McCall GMC Buick lied about how they serviced the air conditioner in the first place. The vehicle was listed as having air conditioning on their website when it was for sale and, in fact, that is not the truth. The Sterling McCall GMC Buick used sales manager stated that he absolutely refused to fix this at all. He literally stated they sale cars all the time without air conditioning and as it is not a safety issue, they are not liable to fix it. Almost 2 months later, I am working with BMW to fix the vehicle I was sold with major issues that Sterling McCall GMC Buick has continually misrepresented themselves on. In 2 months time, I have driven my vehicle 5 days. It has been in the BMW Service Center the entire time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The absolute lack of communication and responsibility for customer service, honoring what the customer is told and for the vehicles they sale is irrefutable and I would never recommend that anyone do business with Sterling McCall GMC Buick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Texas laws state that vehicles with less than 70,000 miles have a 30-day warranty, and this is obviously not honored at Sterling McCall GMC Buick. G M C...I'm a GMC girl and my GMC reflects it. You know what? When I need my GMC serviced I get depressed. Why you wonder? Because it's the Dealership and we all know $$$ uggg. But when I get there, Aaron welcomes me with a warm smile, opens my door and gives me all kinds of compliments about how Fly Ebony and I look together. Now if Aaron is not careful, I'm going to turn into a cougar (growl). Aaron is the greeter at the service department and he sure does his job well. Ok then there's Ramon MY service manager, yes MY because I only make my service appointments with him. Why? Because Ramon knows me and my Ebony well. He has been my only service advisor since I got her and WE (Ebony and I) aren't going anywhere else. Ramon is so patient and kind with me when telling me whats recommended to keep my girl running well. Nothing but the best for Ebony. Before I got my new GMC, I never ever went to the dealership always Walmart or chasing a coupon deal. And with that I've encountered frustration and aggravation because YES mechanics will try and get over on women. My wall is up and all I want is what I came in here for attitude. My Ebony is going to take me into my golden years so therefore Only Sterling McCall's certified mechanics and Gm parts will be under her skit. I don't mind working harder to keep her fine tuned. Oh yeah and excuse to see Aaron (growl). The wait time is not usually long for servicing and if it is, Ramon will order me an Uber to take me home and bring me back upon completion. Walmart don't do that. Break check either. The waiting area is constantly being disinfected and white glove cleaned. They offer complimentary beverages, Wi-Fi and a tv while you wait. Also, upon completion of your service, they wash and shine your ride. I like the wheel shine the dealership has, that's that show room floor shine. There were $9,000 is BS 'add-ons' such as ceramic coating, front grill 'Bra'...just ridiculous. He 'slipped it in' the invoice...as if I would not notice. I had a previous negative experience (poor service and possible incompetence) at another local Buick dealership, and ended up purchasing a spare keyfob from an Amazon seller. Last week, I called this dealership and got an appointment set to have it programmed. She didn't tell me what the charge would be (turned out it was more than twice what the other dealer would have charged). YIKES. I was expecting about $100, and it was twice that with part of that being a charge labeled "Shop charge for repair order". No explanation. The service advisor was nice, but he didn't tell me that even though I made an appointment, for which I was on time, that they weren't going to be able to complete the service anywhere close to my appointment time (locksmith didn't take my car in until an hour and a half after my appointment). Why didn't my advisor come and let me know? I would have rescheduled for next Friday. As it was, I arrived at 9:28 am and didn't drive away until about 12:30pm. This dealership is ran by a bunch of thieves. They will list a vehicle at one price and if you don't catch every detail they will slip other charges on the write up. I will never do business here again nor will I recommend anyone going there. Very unprofessional group! read more

Please do not take your vehicle here, I took my vehicle in about 2/3 weeks ago to get my radio fixed since a fuse went out. The service advisor Johnathan M told me he'd get the part ordered and I never received a call back so I decided to call back and turns out there was never a part ordered for my vehicle. Since the start his customer service was horrible! I'm so terribly upset I wasted my time here. read more

Bought my brand new truck here in 2021 and was all well and good until 2024 when my transmission went out. It took them a month and half to figure everything out and install and in the process scratched my paint [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told them and they said to bring it in mon, wed,fri who has time to drop off their vehicle off during the week? I'm only off Saturday and Sunday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only that they don't have vehicles for ppl to use since ur dropping urs off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I had dropped off again bc I bought the light up GMC logo and the taillight strip went 50/50 and they scratched the paint again. Like do this technicians not care abt what they are doing?? I get it it's not their money or car but they should do their job carefully. Sterling estimate=$4000 Actual cost=Dinner for my son Absolutely disgusting! I've come here for many years for my car repairs. Recently I changed a gasket on my car and being uninclined mechanically I did a poor job and the oil was leaking. I took it in for them to look at it for safe measures. They quoted it at nearly $4000. To make it worse, immediately after I declined this quote the salesperson went into the old "do you want to sell us your car routine". I worked at a car dealership so I'm familiar with some practices. The bottom line is that I got my son to reinstall the same gasket which Auto Zone replaced for free and now my car works perfectly. Now I am left wondering how much money I wasted here in the past. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Absolutely horrible! Please save your money and go somewhere else. The customer service is truly dishonest, disappointing and money hungry. As someone who just recently got their first car, I would think that the staff would genuinely assist me and walk me through the process but instead they failed to communicate effectively with me and took advantage. Absolutely no communication during the services and they kept racking up my bill only to find out the total was 5**.**at the end! My husband and I were shopping for a new truck and decided to look at the GMC Denali to get a feel for it since we have never owned a GMC before. We met with salesman Mr Keith Mack. He brought out a top of the line Denali for us and we were looking at all the features. We asked if there were any 2023 models left and he said no. He then asks us what our budget range was and my husband told him he was looking for something around 60-70k. Immediately Mr Mack was telling us to get out of the truck because it's not within our range as if we weren't worthy enough to sit in it. My husband had to tell him to calm down because we can certainly afford it if we wanted to but just wanted to see if it was worth spending that much for a truck. We were then asking about what discounts were offered or any dealer specials that were available and it felt like we were pulling teeth for information. Mr Keith looked disinterested after that like we were wasting his time. Then we went into his cubicle to look at what was available and then reveals to us that there are 2023 models still available. We then wanted to look at a step down to the unlimited Denali. He then walks away for I don't know what and then comes back asking for my husbands drivers license. My husband and I were already irritated by the attitude we were receiving and decided to leave which then Mr Keith said "Oh you changed your mind?" in the most judge mental tone I've ever heard. We left and went to another GMC dealer so someone would actually help us. My husband and I felt very insulted by this dealership and will not return for our future purchases. read more

I purchased a brand new 2020 GMC Acadia about 1 year ago. It sputtered out with about 50 miles on the odometer so it spent about a week I. The shop. Then the locks failed and locked us out. While they saw what the problem was, plus video evidence, they couldn't figure it out and kept it for almost 2 weeks. The manager offered to "help" which was shorthand for taking the vehicle back for $10k less than what I paid to sell me another car with about $50 extra discount for my troubles. Almost 1 year later to the day, the tire pressure is low. I fill up the tire to find out that the pressure sensors are backwards - and on BOTH sides. The service manager politely turns me away and asks me to go elsewhere. Keep it classy Sterling McCall! Avoid this place at all costs!!! read more

They do not honor their warranty policy or the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. They took responsibility for repairs, kept my husband's truck for 2 days and then informed that they would not repair due to the lift, even though the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects from that and the damage was discovered prior to installation. They sold us a $2000 warranty and happily took our money, but didn't follow through with their end of the bargain. The technicians who installed the lift are certified and followed proper procedures. The warranty issue was detected BEFORE installation and unrelated to the lift. Their service technicians were rude, hateful and did NOTHING to improve the situation. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. read more

I originally left a review on how sterling McCall sw location did a diagnostic and recommended a repair to fix a problem. I paid for recommended service but it didn't help the problem at hand... well wrote the review and Kcooper@group1auto.com asked me to email to help with the problem and I did email but didn't get any response. the problem is no one is taken accountabilit. I have the money to pay for the correct repair not random repairs hoping that it get fixed. and again the manual says when the "service power steering" dash light comes on take it to the dealership but it seems they don't know. so who exactly do we go to and then the service department couldn't fix the problem but offered to purchase my car for 5***. pissed I was read more
