I am naturally skeptical of any used car dealership even more so one that has so many high ranking reviews. I didn't initially believe it and thought they were fake. Boy was I wrong! Joad (Sales Manager) & Zuri (Sales Agent) do business the old school way. They stand behind their product, no B.S. Bait & Switch, and take care of their customers to no end! They offer a 7-day warranty on there vehicles and dont just sell you junk that you have to be worried about breaking down the minute you roll off the lot. They sold me a solid business van for my fleet, that had low miles and it was the cheapest priced vehicle online in the entire country. They are in business for the long haul and understand the importance of reputation. They treat people with the upmost respect regardless of price on car, like some other dealerships. Motors on Wheels went above and beyond for me to make sure I was 100% satisfied with the esthetics and mechanical integrity of my vehicle, which gave me peace of mind! I was looking to sell my car and my first instinct was to take it to Carmax to see what they would offer. I wasn't too happy with carmax's offer so I started to shop around. One quick google search later and I found motors on wheels' website that says they will beat Carmax's offer. So I called them and set an appointment to get my car appraised on the same day. The whole process was easy and from phone call to waking out with a check in hand took less than 2 hours! Not even kidding. This was my fastest easiest and most honest business I have ever worked with. I was in a situation where I only had a few $1000 to put down on a car and Zuri and Joad worked with me so well. They found the perfect car for me and I am so very happy. The car was clean and exactly as it was shown on the website. i bought my vehicle here at the start of the pandemic. I also purchased the PWI warranty which wasn't worth the paper it was written on. I find it difficult to believe that they wouldn't be aware of the issues with the warranty they're selling. Since I live more than100 miles away when my car did have issues, in addition to paying around 2 grand for a 4 year 100k warrant, I also paid more out of pocket than the warranty ever covered. just a complete waste. then when contacted about the refund on the remainder of my warranty I was told there wasn't anything left because they had covered a repair. The warranty paid less than half of the repair because they don't cover cirre labor rates and they only allow bandaid repairs instead of allowing the mechanic to get to the root of the problem. read more

In early March, I totaled my car and began my search for a replacement. I'm pretty sure no one likes car shopping when On a timeline or due to similar circumstances. I started online and for almost 2.5 weeks i spent countless hours finding cars. Two of which were at Motors On Wheels. As my rental car was running out- I decided it was time to buy so I needed to test drive those i picked out. I made an appt with Motors on Wheels and visited. Walking in, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, Ashley, and moments later by Joad. In his hands- be had the keys to one of the vehicles. They made a copy of my license and gave me the keys to test drive. Joard told me that on my return, the other vehicle will be waiting. NO "sit in office and wait" bullshit. After my 2 test drives, we did talk for a few minutes, but I told him I had others to see. Joad was completely OK with this and let me go. As a woman - I hate HATE HATE dealerships. We get treated like shit, idiots, and told to sit in wait in the cubicles forever, as a show, to make you change your mind. Not here. Joad treated me very respectfully and it felt like no other car buying experience I've had (7th car). I left that day on my own free will and timing. The following weekend I went to the big dealerships and sat in their cubicles as they tried to convince me to buy their car- even having two managers- the big guys running the show, come over to meet me and talk sweet. It's all fake. It's all annoying. I wanted to leave and my 3 vehicles I test drove took an entire day. :( Well- turns out my mind kept coming back to the first car I checked out- at Motors and Wheels. I had a few more questions- financing, warranty, history- and all were answered through text (my preferred communication) and phone calls. I got a pre-purchase inspection on site by a 3rd party company, and the car was legit. One tire had low tread, but Motors on Wheels promised /and did, gave me a new tire for free. The financing was 1.56% less apr than my trusty credit union. I was surprised. The warranty I purchased also allows me to bring my vehicle to their maintenance shop (next to it) and have work done with no deductible. ($100) The day I decided to purchase- I communicated to Ashley and Joad via phone- so therefore I could come and leave quickly. And that's what exactly happened. In and out. Sign your name a bunch- but done. Got a car! (Took less time than the big dealerships trying to find keys to the test vehicles) It's been a couple weeks now and still very pleased with my purchase. I feel safe in my vehicle and safe knowing I can go to them for any concern. The staff is so friendly and it's family owned. I do recommend this place for anyone looking. I am so happy with my car and they truly do stand behind the cars they sell. I felt like I mattered as a customer, and I could tell he wasn't just trying to get a sale. This was the first dealership I went to, and I purchased the first car I tested. I went in pre-approved from my credit union, but they do offer financing and you can see if you're prequalified right in the office. I came across this place online, while preparing to sell my three year old Mazda 3. So I brought my car to this place, just a block of Westpark, and prepared myself to be shunted aside, ignored and hard pressed to sell cheap. What I got was one of the owners, Joad, who personally drove the vehicle, then sat down with me to explain how his pricing decision was made. I know that I would've gotten more selling to a private individual, but I am convinced that I received a fair offer from MOW. What really amazed, me however, aside from the pleasantness and professionalism of everyone I dealt with, was how efficiently the transaction was finished. I recently purchased my first car from Motors on Wheels and the experience could not have gone any better. I chose the Motors on Wheels because their selection was excellent, they had great reviews, the prices were competitive, and they were a USAA certified dealership. Joad was my sales representative and he made the process so easy. He was friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and did not pressure me at all. He allowed me to test drive the car I was interested in multiple times. Motors on Wheels also lets you test drive without the salesman, which I really like because you don't feel pressured during the test drive. This isn't a story about buying a car from Motors on Wheels. It's a story about them going way above and beyond what a dealership could ever be expected to do. Back in 2009, I had an incredibly positive experience buying my 2002 VW Golf from Joad at Motors on Wheels. When I was recently facing almost $1000 in repairs on the car, I decided to just give up and get something new (to me). I had a small budget - $3000. Since I'd had such a great experience with Motors on Wheels previously, I called them up to ask about one of the vehicles I saw in their online inventory. When Joad answered the phone, I said, "You may not remember me, but I bought a VW golf a few years ago...," and before I could finish, Joad said, "Mandy, yes! I remember you." I let him know which car I wanted to take a look at, and headed over the next day. Before I drove the car, he told me that he didn't think it was the right car for me - too old, too many miles. I'm a single mom of three, so that kind of information is important to me. I didn't want to end up in a car that was going to be problematic. After I drove it and decided he was right, Joad asked me for the details on what kinds of repairs were needed on my VW (a newly fobbed key and a complete replacement of the oil pan, which was irreparably damaged from driving over a raised manhole that tore it open). He asked me to have the car towed to Motors on Wheels, saying he could have it repaired for me for a small fraction of the estimates I got. Joad took time out of his schedule to order parts and arrange with his mechanic and a locksmith to handle the repairs for literally ONE THIRD of what it was going to cost me previously. I paid less than $300 to have all of those issues resolved, and now I have my car back up and running after three weeks of being without one. I have the money that I was going to spend on another car in a savings account. The only thing Motors on Wheels had to possibly gain from doing this was my never ending gratitude and my loyalty as a customer (which they had already acquired back when I bought my VW). After a 15 minute inspection and review, Chad called me back to his office to discuss my car. I had a really wonderful experience selling my Toyota SUV to MOW this past week. Even from the start, the whole process was extremely efficient and professional. I began by setting up an online appointment, and was quickly both emailed and called to confirm my appointment. I arrived at the dealership in the late afternoon and was immediately greeted by two staff members, including Jawad, one of the brothers that owns the company. He personally took my SUV for evaluation while I waited in their very comfortable and clean waiting area. After his quick eval, we were able to discuss pricing in his office, and Jawad was even willing to beat the highest offers that I had received at the other car buyers I had visited. The whole process was seemed very honest, and he even showed me his pricing information online from the database they use while we were trying to arrive at a price we were both happy with. Once we agreed on a price, the actual transfer of the title and preparation of the check took only a few minutes. A very quick and painless transfer! One of the nicest aspects of the whole experience was that after the deal was finished, they offered to give me a ride home (and even used my own car for the transport). The fellow that dropped me off (I cannot remember his name, unfortunately) was incredibly courteous and seemed unphased by having to drive me all the way across town in the middle of rush hour. I was particularly impressed that he even refused my tip (even at my extreme urging to please take it). All around, a great experience! Not only was everyone nice and helpful, as the other reviews say, Joad went out of his way to help me find financing on a car that was slightly outside what I came in wanting to pay. (it was definitely my choice, the car was a great pick for what I wanted) Then, while I was taking care of the down-payment, he came back and informed me he dropped my interest rate through another agency by 5%! What can I say that hasn't already been said? I had an interesting situation. I received a job offer in Manhattan and needed to move quickly. Had to sell my car, motorcycle and guns all in one week (definitely not a Texan now...haha) I got a quote from IQ Auto Buyers, which was horribly underquoted. Then I tried out CarMax and wasn't 100% satisfied with it. So I took my business to Texas Direct Auto. They actually beat the CarMax price by about 10%. As a last ditch effort, I saw some reviews online for Motors on Wheels and decided to give them a shot. They looked at my car and came back with a similar quote to TDA. After I showed them my quote from TDA, they ended up beating it by about 15%, putting an extra $500 in my pocket. Everyone was super friendly. They wrote a check on the spot for the remainder after the loan was paid off and at the end, we got in my car and they dropped me off back at home (about a 20 minute drive out of the loop) Oh and one other note: The check cleared in 2 days, and my loan was paid closed out in less than a week. These guys mean business. And the business they run is an honest, fair car buying business. I can't recommend them more. They made my move so much easier. Where to even begin? I just recently purchased a 2009 Honda Odyssey with about 76k miles on it from MOW. I somehow managed to be without a car in Houston, TX for around 3 months. I was very apprehensive about the car-buying process (I owned my last car outright for just over 10 years), I really didn't want to have a car note, and was just overall exhausted about the whole ordeal. Every dealership I visited I looked at with a cynical eye. Finally, after a lot of soul-searching, and the not so gentle prodding of the various family members that allowed me the use of their cars while I car-shopped for 3 months, I decided I just had to do it. I had to buy a car like yesterday! Picked up my 4 y/o from school 1 day and headed over to MOW about an hour before they were to close. From the beginning, I never felt rushed in looking. Jennifer greeted me warmly and directed me to Joad. There was no high pressure sales tactics. He let me look at the vehicles I wanted to, and let me test drive on my own as well. I ended up just looking at the Honda actually. I went ahead and made the purchase that evening. They were able to find me financing at what I consider a very good rate given my circumstances. Joad let me know if there were any problems within the first week to let them know immediately so they could take care of it. Well, this is a used car so I didn't expect it to be perfect. There were a few things that cropped up; the passenger-side window decided to stop working. Some of the buttons would fritz out. I thought, oh crap! I've somehow been bamboozled. I shot off an e-mail to Joad on a Sunday evening with my list of grievances. He responded via email in under an hour telling me to bring the vehicle in the next day if I could. I couldn't respond immediately so he actually followed up with a phone call the next day. After speaking with him I brought the car back. They threw me in a nice loaner and whisked the car off for inspection. Turned out the window motor had gone out. They replaced this immediately. Also, I was having some issues with the DVD headrest monitors not working consistently. They couldn't find anything wrong but Joad suggested installing a fold down screen for a low price instead. (My kids had already fallen in love with those darn monitors and who knew the peace they would offer?? LOL) It would take less than a day and they could have the car back to me. I just dropped all this $$$ for the car, what's a little bit more at this point? Sure, I say. And off I go. I get a call a little later. They're sorry, but they realized that due to the rear A/C and the location of the sun roof, they won't be able to install the screen we agreed on. So, instead they're going to replace the headrest monitors and they'll absorb the difference. Well, okay, I say. I'm a little impressed that they make that offer. Then again, I did just buy this car so shouldn't the monitors work anyway? But, then again, this is a used car purchase and there are no guarantees. I go back the next day. Joad shows me what they've done. I had to pick up jaw from the floor. What an UPGRADE! I was not expecting that at all! New screens with amazing resolution that also come with remotes and wireless headsets. Um WHAT?!?! These guys left me speechless. Thanked them profusely and went on my way. Until I had to come back a few days later. Turns out I needed a new battery. The one in the car was basically on its last leg. When it became apparent this was the issue, Joad said they'd split the cost of a new battery. Fair enough, I say. Again, I remind myself this is a used car so I'm basically stuck with what I got when I signed on the dotted line. They are able to replace the battery within 30 minutes. When Joad gives me back the keys, he shows me the newly installed battery and is basically like, it ended up not being very expensive so don't worry about it. Again, impressed. Now, I'm back to tearing up the streets of Houston in my mom-van. My whole experience with MOW was above and beyond anything I could've imagined. I kept expecting the sky to start falling, and instead they brought the sun out!! I plan to keep this car for as long as possible and maybe my 4 y/o will get so lucky as to have it bequeathed to him as his 1st car when he's older. Then I will get to watch him 'pimp' it out trying to make it look cool for a teenage set, haha! But when its time for another new-to-me car, I am going back to MOW. Their exceptional customer service even AFTER my purchase has earned my customer loyalty. I'm already telling anyone who will listen that they need to visit Joad and company for their car needs. Seriously the best car buying experience I've ever had. Joad has top notch customer service and I could tell he really cared about our family getting a good quality vehicle. I was a little skeptical since we drove all the way from Austin to look at this car we saw on Auto Trader, but boy was it worth it! And to top it off, after our test drive he pointed out a bubble in one of the tires so he had his guys put on the spare AND took some $$$ off the price of the car. Sounds reasonable, right? Well of course it does, but most salesmen wouldn't go that far to make a customer happy, much less point it out! We probably wouldn't have even noticed it until it was too late. Joad said he didn't feel comfortable sending us home to Austin with a tire in that condition. When it came time for us to talk numbers, there were no hidden fees and everything was straight forward. I bought a Prius from Motors on Wheels about a month ago, August 2013. All in all the purchase was a pleasant experience--the small shop feel of this company is a far cry from the industrial-strength dealerships dotting Houston. I purchased from Brad, who was a bit gruff, but he got the job done. When coming back to pick up the car (which they arranged to have reupholstered at my expense), I spoke with the brothers, who seemed a lot more friendly and accommodating. That's just personal impressions, though. Brad seemed to be understanding of my desire to think of the total cost of the car (the size of the check I wrote) and not try to hide taxes and fees, which I appreciated. When I wanted to get a pre-purchase inspection they were understanding, and the inspector found only one problem (some belt was worn down), which MoW repaired before I picked up the car. I had to pick up the car quickly (I had to drive a family member to the airport), so they didn't have time to detail the car, as is their policy. I plan to take it back to have it detailed when the registration and license arrives, which one of the brothers (I don't remember which) insisted would be no problem. He even offered to lend me a car while they were doing it, in case I need to get around during the detailing process, which is definitely far and beyond what a dealership needs to do. Bottom line, they're a great company, accommodating of customer needs, and I feel I got a fair price for the car, which has been running smoothly (and getting the advertised mileage, which is important for a hybrid) for the past month. Only a few things that bothered me that I feel like I should mention (why they don't warrant five stars): - One of the brothers told me it would be a few weeks before the license and registration arrived, and that they'd call me when it did. It's now been four weeks (if I counted correctly), and their phone line insists that I shouldn't bother them until it's been five. I suppose that's the Texas registry's problem, but I think it'd have been nice if they'd checked in with me, especially because they said it would be set sooner. - When I drove the car off the lot for the last time, I noticed a crack in the windshield. I suppose that's my bad for not noticing it before, but it's still a little annoying. read more

I began my hunt for a used second car for our family and we had decided that a small SUV was what we were looking for. While using Cars.com the very first day of my hunt, I came across a reasonably priced, decent looking (in the photos) used Escape. I dropped it into my favorites and kept on hunting. After over a month of hunting, I finally narrowed it down to five choices and on the last day I pulled up my saved Escape again, only to find that there was another at the same dealer just added to the stock. My partner and I jumped in the car and raced over to catch them before they closed just to take a look at it. Unfortunately they did close, but still working on a last minute deal and allowed us to roam the lot. After looking at the selection of vehicles they had in stock, our minds were made up... this was the dealership I was buying my car from. The vehicles looked better in person than their photos and the photos were pretty darn good. The cars were clean, the lot was organized and that was enough for me. We told the last man standing that we would be back the next day to look at the Escape I had selected. Another unfortunate situation had me going back to the dealer the next day alone and being a one car family and not in possession of the car that day, I had to make the significant walk to the lot in hopes I would beat closing time. I called to confirm the car was still there and the guys told me to take my time, they would wait. I fell in love with my Escape of choice, we talked out the details, and came to an agreement that required the most unusual logistics of financing that I'm sure they had ever experienced. This place is amazing! I found out my old car had hit its life span and so I began to car hunt. I really did not want to deal with the circus of a dealership. Excellent selling experience. Had my car appraised (~45min) and sold my car here a week later (which took ~15min total). Very pleasant and up front staff to work with. Texas Direct Auto had a very strong offer (which Joad acknowledged) but MoW still beat by $200 (basically the top of the wholesale value estimate per KBB). Also - I indicated that a friend had referred me, which earned my friend $100. Finally, they paid for my uber ride home (w/in 20mi of MoW) at the peak of rush hour. Most time I feel like reviews are a hype and half of the content is not true, but this place was EASY and HONEST. Joad (the Sales Rep that helped me) didn't waste any time and was very straight forward. He offered me a GREAT price and then told me the process. The process of me selling my car literally took less than 30 mins! It was almost too easy! I've been to CarMax and Texas direct auto, and it took them at least an hour to inspect your car only to give you a LOW offer. Don't waste your time. I was also offered a free Uber ride home. We didn't have to wait long at all. Our car was appraised very quickly. We were offered a higher price than at Carmax. So, it was a done deal. Transaction went very smooth.
