Yet another place that should not be judged by it's 3.7 rating. We were going out on a girl's night and were trying to find a restaurant close by the secret speakeasy where we had reservations later that night. We chose this place with hesitation but it was so close. The name of the place is so fitting for a girls night. Our waiter was amazingly helpful and the ambiance was modern and stylish as you would expect being in a hotel called ZaZa. The Ahi Tuna Nachos although few in quantity were mounded with yummy goodness on each fried wonton. Actually very filling but light enough that you didn't leave overly full. Also impressed with the amount of tuna on each nacho. I did not order the ceasar but my friend was not a fan of the power of the anchovies and garlic. As soon as I heard those words my eyes lit up and my stomach grumbled. I HAD to try a bite. I am going to have to say - this place has one of the best ceasar salads I've ever had. I love anchovies and I love garlic and their dressing was all about it - like a punch in the face of anchovies and garlic. I do agree though, their dressing is an acquired specific taste and is not for the faint at heart by all means. For sure a place I'd go again - food.service.ambiance. done and done. read more

This is a nice upper scale hotel bar, with a great outdoor patio and pool area. The drinks were fast and skillfully made. Ive also been here for a corporate event and it is a great venue for a 25+ person group (intimate enough for interesting conversations, but large enough for a group). Service was good and the bartenders were nice, and they do hustle!! Highly recommend stopping in for some classy cocktails! read more

Really good food and great atmosphere for a hotel restaurant. I generally don't have high expectations for hotel restaurants but this place hit every point. Decor is amazing, food is on point. Apps to share: volcano fries and fried Brussels sprouts. Dipping sauces are both good and well seasoned. For my main, the crab cake Benny is really delicious - rich and great textural contrast. You don't really notice the caviar given everything else going on but you won't mind. The fried fingerling potatoes are a nice compliment as are the cherry tomatoes for acidity. read more

My work team hosted a private event at Group Therapy. We had the whole inside and the outside pool area. Both the inside and outside bars were open for us. We did a fajitas buffet. The staff took great care of us and made sure everything was set up as we wanted. The food was very good and the drinks were flowing. Overall a really great event! read more

Was a bit disappointed by this place. Beautiful hotel and restaurant but food fell flat. Ordered a simple dish that you wouldn't think could be messed up but it did. I got a burger and fries. Ordered the burger medium and it came out basically well done. The bun was a bit dry and the burger itself was just meh tbh. read more

The hotel lobby is trendy looking and the restaurant has unique wall paper, but other than that I don't get the hype. The evening was a particularly hot one and they were seating people by the pool with no fans or misters. We moved once a couch opened up but we served ourselves water from the pool stand because there were only 3 servers for the entire restaurant and they were quite overwhelmed. The drinks were okay and the food was reasonably good. But the experience was marred by the lack of staff and having no provisions to ease the heat. read more

All the flavors blended and melded together quite nicely which was nice. They certainly do know how to make beer and it was nice to get a beer type that I don't get as often. They give you a number and when the board lights up with your number, then you go to the pick-up window to get your food. There was maybe a 10-12-minute wait. I thought that prices were very reasonable and the taste was good enough. We learned that the Rustic Tap is an LSU bar and they host a lot of the game watches. We used a rideshare, so I don't know how convenient or easy parking is in this area. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would consider coming back for future events.

Had breakfast here while staying at Hotel ZaZa, and it was such a great way to start the day. The restaurant on the 7th floor by the pool has a really relaxed, inviting atmosphere, and the food was excellent. The highlight, though, was our server, Patricia. We refused extra pitas 3 times I think! Cocktails- everything we tried was quite good, but again there wasn't the pizaz or just 'blown away by the flavor' to feel that the crazy price was totally justified. We tried: Spanish G&T (very refreshing- don't chew on the juniper berries lol), Banana Bread Old Fashioned (pretty good even for someone who doesn't much like whiskey!), Bonfire on a Beach (fun, smokey, love the harissa on the side), Peach Martini (teensy bit sweet for me but good). She did give us good service its just for the high price I would expect some more detailed suggestions on drinks, being able to split the check other than 50/50 (or at least ask someone instead of just saying 'I don't know how'). It was friendly and enthusiastic service just not 'wow this truly is fine dining' service. Outside of the restaurant, parking is a bit of a pain but that is normal for down town. We parked at the Laz garage half a block away- $8 for 2 hrs instead of the $27 for valet.

There was also a charge for a full glass of wine we never ordered. Whether it was a menu error or a user mistake, it's unacceptable. Between the nonexistent service and the pricing discrepancy, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in Austin. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Amaya based on this experience.
