Amazing experience with Zoom whitening. Becky, the dental assistant / hygienist, was professional and courteous every step of the way. She was patient and well-informed and explained every step so that I would be comfortable throughout the entire process. We shared a room for a little over an hour because she made it efficient, and she had a great sense of humor. It was my first time - the stinging and tingling over the next day weren't fun (but it's gone now, a day later) and my teeth are already pretty white naturally, so I probably won't be doing another Zoom session. But if I did, these guys would be my very first choice. It was cost-effective ($100-$200 less than competing options) and they had some limited availability (vs. other places, which were more expensive AND less available), so I can't say enough good things. The office looked clean and professional, and the dentist who came in for the quick inspection was extremely nice - Dr. Taqvi - and if I were living in the area, he'd be at the top of my list. The front desk staff was hit or miss - some of the folks were extremely nice and courteous, while others (and I think this applies to the call center staff in DG) were not so nice and not so helpful. it's been a few years since I've been to the practice. I was in visiting family and scheduled a routine cleaning well in advance to accommodate my window of time in town. I explained on the phone I wanted a CLEANING with the hygienist ONLY and would not want an exam or X-rays (since I would be paying out of pocket because of no longer having insurance). I had an exam, cleaning and full X-rays as of November 2025 with no issues and the person on phone said this was fine. I come to my very early appointment and the hygienist comes out to tell me I would need xrays, after explaining everything AGAIN, I promptly had my last X-rays sent over to them. Then the office manager comes out to tell me that my X-rays are fine but I would still need an exam since it had been so long since I had one with their practice even though I had seen a dentist for an excellent check up not even a year ago.... mind you a cleaning is over $150 out of pocket and over an additional $50 something dollars for an exam I certainly did not need. After the manager tried to bully me into the exam, I proceeded to walk out as I was told they wouldn't clean my teeth without an exam! How utterly unprofessional that first this wasn't clarified when on the phone initially and to be literally pressured on the spot after the fact was soooo bad. My daughter is still a patient there and I had been a good standing patient for many years to be treated with such disregard and to be turned away over $50 basically. I've personally worked in dental field for over 20 years and this was a very poor experience to say the least. I would see Patients come in all the time for just a routine cleaning without a hassle whatsoever. That's the experience you will get in a corporate owned practice that is all about the numbers and bottom line. I visited Grove Dental for the first time in January 2025 due to pain with a new crown. My regular private-practice dentist was out of the country, and Grove Dental was able to see me on short notice, which I appreciated. The visit went smoothly, and based on that initial experience, I decided to schedule a routine cleaning and exam for six months later. Unfortunately, my second experience was extremely disappointing. I confirmed the appointment multiple times, filled out all of their required forms online in advance, and arrived on time only to be told that they required full X-rays before proceeding. I had just had X-rays done in December at my previous dentist, and my insurance wouldn't cover another set so soon. I declined, assuming we could move forward without them. I then waited over 30 minutes past my appointment time before the hygienist came in only to be told that they wouldn't do the cleaning or exam without their own X-rays. No one informed me of this rigid policy ahead of time - not when I scheduled the appointment, not during the six months leading up to it, not on any of the paperwork I completed, and not at any point during my multiple confirmations. I was even told to call my old dentist to have the X-rays sent over, but that office is closed on Wednesdays (today) and Grove Dental refused to make an exception despite the circumstances. The message was clear: my time wasn't valued, and their interest in onboarding a new patient ended once I declined to repeat a procedure my insurance would not cover. I had rearranged my work schedule to be there, only to be dismissed without care or consideration. This lack of communication, flexibility, and patient-centered care left a very negative impression. For over 15 years my entire family have been patients of Grove Dental -Bolingbrook. We live over 25 miles away, but we went back because of the great doctors and good customer service. Until today. My husband went for his six month check up, but was turned away because in their words "they were not familiar" with our new insurance. The day prior I asked our insurance company if it was ok to go to our dentist, they said yes, show the card and they can call us if they have any questions regarding coverage for services. Well the Grove Dental staff did the very opposite. They told my husband to call and verify. He informed them I did and said everything our representative stated. Well they said they didn't have time to do that and he had to reschedule. He also asked for a manger, they said no one was available to speak with him. So he left. Why is that if you don't have a well known insurance company you're treated like a second class citizen and as if you don't even have insurance? Well it's so unfortunate that we are probably not the only ones that this happens to. We will now look for somewhere else to go, that will value our business, because it is clear Grove Dental Bolingbrook does not. read more

I have seen Dr. Kostko for exams and crowns and Dr. David Smith for an extraction. Truly pain free, professional, and thorough. My tooth extraction with Dr. Smith was quick and painless. It stopped bleeding in hours and I could sleep without gauze the first night. By the second evening I did not need the pain medication he prescribed. No complications at all. Dr. Kostko is a consummate professional with a great manner. Pain free dentistry. I feel both these doctors and people I can trust and have confidence in. Truly, even the supporting staff is great. I am just coming off an appointment for crown prep and feel great about it. read more

When you're a little kid, your parents make decisions for you with nothing but your best interest in mind: Where you'll go to school, what kind of values you'll have, and most importantly, where you'll go to get your teeth cleaned. In no particular order. ;) I've been going to Grove Dental since they were at their old location down the road when I was in elementary school, maybe longer. I was a HUGE nerd so some of my favorite childhood memories include going to the prize box at the end of my appointments where my hygienist basically praised me for a half hour and told me I had pretty teeth before I went home with a bunch of stickers and floss. Okay wow, I'm starting to get jealous of young me just thinking about those memories. Now I'm 26 and I *still* go to Grove Dental. I don't even live in Bolingbrook -- I live 27 miles away, on the North Side of Chicago -- and I have absolutely no plans to stop going to Grove Dental. Maybe it's the comfort of going to the same place and having Dr. Janas look at my teeth for years and years and hearing her say that my teeth are beautiful as ever. Maybe it's knowing that my mom, dad, sister who lives in Michigan, and brother are all also loyal Grove Dentalites (we need a club name, folks), and this is a bond we share. Maybe it's the fact that I've had the same hygienist every time I've visited for the last few years and we manage to have hilarious conversations, even somehow while she's cleaning my teeth (hi, Molly!). There's something about Grove Dental that reminds me that I'm home and reminds me of my roots. I even lived in New York for two years and didn't go to the dentist the whole time because I was waiting to go back to Grove Dental. That's gross, so let's pretend I didn't share that secret. I'm back to six-month checkups again!!! I love this office, from the moment I walk in the doors and am greeted by the lovely ladies at the front desk, until I'm handed my adult version of my prize box goodies (still lots of floss, score), and when I'm making my next appointment as I'm leaving. I travel a little bit extra specifically for Dr. Janas. She is caring, compassionate and treats her patients well. She makes sure you are as pain free as possible, which I appreciate! As for Grove overall, I do find their accounts department is not very dependable at all. I'm always having to double check their work and have found numerous mistakes in the past. I highly recommend you keep an eye on your bills, what you've paid, and what your insurance has paid. Many times I dread calling Grove, It'd be nice if the person that answered the phone could help you instead of transferring you to someone else to make your appointment. I was assigned to a new doctor/dentist (Mahmoud) for a tiny cavity. She explained it would be a fast procedure because it was so superficial. The filling was botched leaving sharp edges that cut my tongue. When I returned later to have it looked at, she said she wasn't surprised I was back. She tried to fix it, and that created a gap between my teeth that had never existed. She said she could remove the filling and redo it. Seriously? Get out of my mouth, and give me someone who knows what they are doing. So frustrating. read more

They want your money! While everyone there is fairly nice, the last time I went (pre-Covid) I WAS MORTIFIED AS TO WHAT I HEARD. After a cleaning, (without polishing or finishing like others I've had) Dr. Moss came in to examine me. I complained about a small pain in my gum above my tooth. He looked at it and immediately told his assistant and I that a Root Canal and Crown were needed. (not the first time it was his first reaction). What floored me is that after that, Dr. Moss actually told his assistant - "The one next to it isn't ours, so let's re-do that crown while we're at it." WTF? There was nothing wrong with the tooth next to it, other than the money did not go to grove Dental when the root canal and crown were put on a few years ago! IT TURNS OUT, THE PAIN WENT AWAY SHORTLY AFTER, AND SO I DID NOT NEED A ROOT CANAL AND CROWN , LET ALONE A SECOND ONE ON A GOOD TOOTH!!! They just wanted another $6,000 sucker! I've spoken to other locals who have used them, and I hear the same thing - whatever you in there for, they will somehow find a more expensive procedure that they will tell you that you need. I had an appointment scheduled and that morning I called to be sure my records including insurance information had been sent from the previous dentist. The woman I spoke to could not verify if they had received it but promised to have the person that handles it call me as soon as s she gets in. My husband and I have been loyal to Grove Dental for over a decade. We have always paid our dues in full and on time. And we have built a wonderful relationship with our dental hygienist who became family to us. Yesterday changed all that. It was our first meeting with Cami, the treatment coordinator. We're totally frustrated & most definitely insulted by how this person belittled us. The entire time I was sharing with her my disability and our current financial situation she didn't care one bit. Zero compassion for someone who's supposed to me a Mom & Grandma like her. When I finally called her out on how disrespectful she was towards us, she had the audacity to throw us out her office instead of apologizing for her lack of empathy & rude behavior. We know it's a business & not a charity, but you would think after over a decade of paying you guys in full & on time, you would think our loyalty means something specially during times of financial crisis. I cannot believe you are represented by a person who lacks professionalism that literally stalked me & my husband along the hallway until we said goodbye to our dental hygienist while she threatened us of closing our accounts. I spoke with the assistant manager and she assured as that the office manager will get back to us the following day to resolve the issue. As my husband and I predicted, we highly doubted that Julie Walker (the office manager) would do anything about this. And surely this was the case. She called me today at 11 am, not to hear our side of the story, and not to offer any resolutions or apology, but to inform us that they made a decision of closing our accounts. Talk about a double-edged sword with a slap in your face. So being harassed by their staff is more important to them than keeping patients who have been loyal to their practice for over a decade. Even after your front desk staffs admitting that Cami has done this before to other patients you remain silent in reprimanding her. The embarrassment & hurt Cami put us through is unforgivable & there is no repairing the damage she caused especially after the stand the office manager took. And to know the direction came from Dr. Moss (our dentist), the person we trusted for years. Shame on you Dr. Moss for acting like you have no authority on financial matters of the company knowing you own it. But you have authority to close our accounts without even conducting a complete investigation and hearing our side of the story. How can a company do an internal investigation and reach a decision without even speaking to the actual persons involved which were me and my husband. Truly, this company is run by greedy dentists who owns the practice, and a sorority of monsters who doesn't care about you. I have been going to Grove Dental for well over 10 years. I LOVE Dr. Frenzel... He saved a tooth and I will forever acknowledge his great work! HOWEVER, this dental office has changed a lot recently. I was called and had my six month cleaning cancelled in December, 2021 because the hygenist was out. Fine, I asked to reschedule... SIX MONTHS is what they gave me, unbelievable. I made my appointment six months in advance, to have it cancelled and then have to wait ANOTHER SIX months, which is technically a year. THe wait time for cleanings is unacceptable. I just made a cleaning appointment for my daughter because they forgot to schedule her next cleaning when she was there last, next appointment = AUGUST, 6 months, Unheard of, unacceptable, and absolutely riduculous. PLUS, they have a new method of collecting money before treatment. The dentist does his exam, if work is needed - he steps out, someone comes in to collect the money for the treatment, then the dentist comes back to do the work. I got my braces at grove dental. When they where taking them off I specifically told my orthodontist that I didn't want my canines shaved down or the shape of my teeth changed at all. Not only did they completely shave down my canines so they are no longer sharp, they also reshaped all of my front teeth and did a horrible job. Dr. Chung and her dental hygienist were phenomenal with my 4-year-old. I don't know how they managed, but they were amazing and very patient. My 4-Year-old is strong-willed at times, so I did worry he would not behave. He did nicely with Dr. Chung and her hygienist. I am so happy. He had a cavity and my son was in so much pain. They took my son immediately to check his teeth and we are grateful to them. The staff put us at ease. The front desk is very courteous. We will be bringing the entire family here. Wow what a disappointing experience. Called in December to scheduled a emergency appointment for a extreme tooth ache. Was informed that they would not be able to get me in till the following day. On day of the appointment, lucky me it was a Holiday party and hygienist was more concerned about a plate of snacks she had left in the back room.....banter between hygienists. When dr did come in , asked me what toothpaste I used, tapped on my tooth and gave me a referral to someone else. Dumb founded I went home. So to set my mind at ease I scheduled a another appointment with a different dr. At this time I was informed I had a cracked tooth, thus the cause of pain. A temporary crown was then placed on and another referral was given. Upon the root canal consultation, I was given 2 different results from specialist and previous doctor. I even said that I am getting mix signals because both of you guys are telling me something different. Today I stopped in to see if I could scheduled the permanent crown since my tooth pain had ceased. Again I was informed that I needed a root canal. Baffling since I am no longer experiencing pain, and no longer convinced that they are looking out for my tooth best interest. Currently I am feeling like they are more into it for the insurance claim then care of patients. When I questioned the appointment specialist, She made the snide remark "oh I am aware of your case, you left a bad review on Facebook ". Wow unbelievable. No, never again. Although I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Smith many many years ago, things have changed. I would still very highly recommend Dr. Smith, he is by far the best oral surgeon I have ever been to. However, I was a new dental patient to the general practice a little over a year ago. I had a five crown bridge that was a year old, and an excellent dentist had done the work. Dr. Brammeier said that the teeth underneath were probably rotten, even though they could not be x-rayed. I said that it was only one year old and all the work was done by a trusted dentist that had moved to Hoffman Estates. He also had a pre-estimate sent in for a crown, the crown was repaired, and then I was billed for the crown. I looked at the EOB for the crown replaced, and the pre-estimate, and they were for two different teeth. When I pointed out the mistake, I was not billed for the new crown. I switched dentists within Grove. After the new dentist did a filling, he sort of rubbed his hands together and said 'what can we do next'? I didn't even need anything done, except possibly have a crown replaced that was a bit of a food trap, but I was taking care of that. I don't get crowns replaced just because they're over five years old and I can, I will get them replaced when I'm having issues. I don't love going to the dentist, so I don't want to get one thing after another done just because it's possible. It just felt as if our family became a source of income for them, instead of getting a new family dentist that really cared about us. They set my husband up with four cleanings a year after he saw the periodontist. Insurance only pays for two, so that was expensive. The periodontist also gave my husband business cards and asked him to pass them out. Just tacky. I also brought my nine year old grandson in for the $49 new patient special. I was told that he had three cavities and needed an expensive root canal. My daughter took him to her dentist and he needed none of those things. I have gone back to my old dentist in Hoffman Estates, and couldn't be happier. He's someone I can trust. read more

I would give this place a 0 if I could. We have been loyal patients here for years and never had any issues or complaints - until now. We brought my youngest in to have a few teeth removed and he was sedated during the procedure. He LOVES whales and dolphins and wants to be a marine biologist when he grows up, and we brought his favorite stuffed dolphin toy with him to comfort him and keep him brave during the procedure. HOWEVER, as he was waking up he heard Dr. Mina Chung and her assistant making unkind comments about his weight, namely comparing him to the whales he loves so much. How do I know? Because he didn't even realize how cruel their words until he asked me what "takes one to know one" means and explained the context. They also called him a "drool factory." What almost makes it worse is that when I reported this incident I was completely brushed off as a "hallucination" from the sedative. Yeah, right. You can be certain I'm going elsewhere from now on - and so are my coworkers and friends. read more

I am a Dental Hygienist and because of that am very particular about who works on my teeth. I had a large, old filling on one of molars that had fractured and needed work. I went to Dr Frenzel since he had done some restorative work for me as a teenager, and i trusted his work! He did an Onlay for me. Through out the entire process Dr Frenzel was very knowledgeable, friendly and gentle (Which i appreciated especially when receiving local anesthetic!) I had met 2 of his assistants during my treatment. Both of them were very welcoming and always made sure i was comfortable and relaxed. My onlay feels great, looks great and i have no sensitivity. Quality work by Dr Frenzel and his staff. If you are looking for a good Dentist in the area, look no further. ALSO- if you have kids the entire pediatrics side at Grove Dental is amazing! I went here for a consult as the last dentist I went to was awful and did not make me feel comfortable at all. I saw Dr. Moss and he was wonderful and so was the lady that was working with him. Sorry I forgot her name! I had gone from a dentist who said I needed over $23,000 in work done to a lot less then that. They are willing to work with you and come up with a good treatment plan that doesn't hurt your pocket too much and work well with my insurance as well! When I first started going here it was fine (I had money then and my insurance at the time was accepted here) over the years they have changed. Everything became very rushed and patient care was over looked for who can actually pay in full and get a lot done. They began pressuring to get unnecessary procedures that wasnt even of concern. And now that my insurance is no longer accepted there and my income has changed to where I have to pick and choose what can be done and when, my care is set aside. I need to have alot of work done but cant afford it right away and all at once. They gave me a HUGE problem just to have an antibiotic refilled so I can keep my pain and infection at bay until January of 2020 when I'd be able to get some work done. They proceeded to tell me to put aside the care of my babies for what I need. Honestly how hard is it to refill an antibiotic???? I wasnt asking for any pain meds nor narcotic medications, I just wanted a refill for antibiotics to keep my rotting teeth from spreading until I can have some pulled in January. Yeah this place no longer has patient care on top or anywhere on their list. read more
