The food was incredible: we had the grove for two and chose to stack the following courses: pork belly -- spaghetti -- Marsala -- steak and hashbrowns. Everytime something new came out we said it was the best thing we've ever eaten. Make sure you have time: our experience lasted 2 and half hours. So plan that. Ambiance was great. Nothing amazing nothing bad

Went with a couple of girlfriends for a birthday celebration and the food was spectacular! We couldn't decided on what to get so we did family style and we loved that they had the option to do "grove experience" where it's X amount of items for $350. We were able to taste pretty much everything on the menu and adding to our order if needed. It was plenty of food and we left full! The menu seems to change with the season but they still feature similar items. This was the summer menu and was by far my favorite. I went back in the fall the menu was more fall-ish, I didn't really care for it but my husband loved it. This is a perfect date night spot or dinner with friends. The staff are super friendly.

I'm a huge foodie and can't believe I've never tried Grove before this moment. The vibes are romantic and cozy, upscale but not pretentious. The service was really special. Our server was attentive, spaced our courses perfectly, catered to a gluten sensitivity, and was very knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. We went there as 2 couples and both did the tastings for 2 for $150 per couple which meant that we basically tried the entire menu between the bread, 10 courses, and 2 desserts. My favorite dish was the bucatini (light, lemony, and fresh pasta and a good portion size). My husband's favorite was the salmon (crispy edges and delicious dill sauce). The two dishes we would not recommend are the lamb (too small of a portion honestly) and the potato (covered in an overly salty, pasty cheese sauce). The spiced cheesecake was pretty good for dessert. The cocktails were hit and miss. Overall, we left with mixed feelings... we felt it was a great one-time experience in a cute restaurant with great service, but for the price tag none of the dishes really stood out enough to have us wanting to return soon.

It was easy to make a reservation online for 2 for a Friday night (6pm). It's a clean, simple, classy interior design; not too dressy, but still elevated. Service was great and very attentive! They were as accommodating as could be with gluten free, dairy free options, and we enjoyed everything! The grove for 2 is $150, includes bread & butter, and choice of 5 dishes a la carte. They even brought gluten free seed crackers with the bread, which were pretty tasty. We had the hamachi crudo, trout, pork shoulder, cacio e pepe (not gluten free/dairy free), and beef tartare. Not great lighting for pictures. I would be interested to follow if they rotate the main menu and possibly come back to try new dishes.

Fantastic place for a date night. Ambiance is upscale yet relaxed. Service was great -- both our server and their sommelier talked to us about the menus and provided an outstanding experience. My wife and I split the spiced nuts, duck confit, bucatini, and octopus, and all were delicious. For drinks, we split a couple of yummy cocktails and a couple of wines by the glass -- a red Burgundy and a Champagne, both of which were on-point recommendations by their staff. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Grand Rapids.

grove was an experience! we choose to get the dinner for two options that allows you to pick any 5 items off of the menu, YUM! it was a great option. we picked grove for my birthday dinner for the farm to table options, so glad we did. our server was SO helpful, he gave recommendations and brought our dishes out in a sequence that made sense and paired well together, he was so knowledgeable and shared unique aspects from the restaurant, like house made butter and gin! the drinks were delicious. we sat in a corner where we felt comfortable and cozy, in our own little world of tasty food. would absolutely recommend. (it is on the pricey side but it again is an experience, my husband related it to the show "The Bear" and asked if they had a michelin star)

We celebrated with delicious food at Grove for my birthday! We opted for the tasting for two, which came with five courses of our choosing, plus bread and butter (not pictured- oops) and dessert. It was all divine- seriously, we couldn't get enough. We loved the pork belly, and the dessert! (Corn ice cream???? Amazing). Every cocktail we tried was amazing- the flavors were so well crafted. The service was excellent- seriously, every person we talked to was so personable. For being a more upscale place than your casual dinner, it didn't feel too stuffy. It still had laid back vibes! Grove sources their food from sustainable, family farms, and has an ever-changing menu that follows the seasons. Trust me, this is a culinary experience you don't want to miss!

Weekend Recap: Me, my date, and a whole moody lighting vibe. Let me start by saying that if you're looking to level up your food game in Grand Rapids, Grove is the spot. We came for the Restaurant Week tasting menu, and wow--just wow. The tasting menu included 2 entrees and a dessert. We added some fresh-baked bread (a must) and frisée salad, because, health. I had the pork shoulder with couscous and pomegranate. Oh my goodness, I'm still dreaming of how tasty and tender the cut was. My date had the duck leg, which was so salty and boasted almost an Asian zing type feel. It paired perfectly with the Syrah we ordered. Speaking of, wine is half the experience, and Grove did not disappoint. We splurged on a bottle, and it was so beyond worth it. Big shoutout to Nick, our server with the perfect recs. And to top it all off? A tarte with white chocolate chai ganache. I was literally in heaven. If you're trying to impress, treat yourself, or just experience top-tier dining, this is where you need to be.

I could write a book filled with all of the aspects of Grove that make it one of (if not THE) best restaurants in Grand Rapids. But I won't bore you with that, as every second you'd spend reading my review would be one fewer second that you could spend planning (and saving up for) a truly transcendent dining experience at Grove. This place is truly special, and that's because they make you feel truly special. We were welcomed in with a handwritten note congratulating my lovely girlfriend and I on our anniversary, along with complimentary champagne and a custom menu. Our server was an absolute savant - he knew absolutely everything about each and every dish, drink and desert, and had excellent recommendations as to how we should invest our hard earned money into such an elegant tasting menu experience. Every dish was mind-blowing. I would not be surprised if the chefs had little Ratatoullie rats under their hats in the back, because with each first bite of our five dishes, I felt like Anton Ego when he flashed back to his childhood eating Ratatoullie on a warm summer evening in the french countryside. The cocktails were also masterfully crafted. This place could easily moonlight as one of those boujee cocktail bars where it's so dark you need a flashlight to see the leather menu and all of the bartenders have perfect beards and look down on you for not knowing what Amaro Pazzo is - Grove could do all of that but better. And to top it all off, our server overheard my date and I debating over which desert to try, so they just went ahead and gave us both for the price of one! Like, come on. They're just bragging at this point. Grove is the bee's knees. The cat's meow. The fox's socks. The ant's pants. Unless you're ultra wealthy and experience this level of dining on a daily basis (which, if you are, why are you even on Yelp in the first place), the attention to both craft and detail that Grove commands will leave your stomach full, your pockets empty, and your mind buzzing.

Came here for an anniversary dinner. Was blown away with the service. Upscale dinner with down to earth staff who made us feel so welcome and comfortable immediately. We did a tasting menu with a few drinks. And so glad we did. The food, when I say everything was delicious, we literally scraped the plate for every dish. Special mentions, the carrot ginger purée with the fish which was so incredibly tender and the bucatini pasta which was like what you dream your gourmet Mac and cheese would taste like. Beef carpaccio was the most well balanced bite I think I had, I'll be thinking about it for a while.

    Mocktails!

Our server JOHN, was absolutely amazing!! The food was also amazing, and experience was 10/10!

I'm so surprised I haven't written a review for Grove yet ! It was such a fun and delicious experience. My boyfriend at the time/husband were trying to find a Michelin-star restaurant in Grand Rapids, but we ended up discovering that there were no Michelin-star restaurants in that area due to logistical reasons. In any case, this restaurant still popped up when I made the search, so we made a reservation and gave it a try. Honestly, we planned to go to Grove in the middle of the week so we did not even need a reservation in May (I think we went on like a Wednesday or Thursday early dinner). They have lots of indoor seating and also really lovely outdoor seating that felt like half garden, half historic metropolitan. The servers were so friendly, and my husband and I ordered the "Tasting for Two" with bread and dessert for $150, which was totally worth the price ! As every pair of dishes were brought out (it was 3 courses with 2 dishes for each course), the server explained a bit of the ingredients and how the dish was cooked - which is not the fancy experience that we get to have often. Their bread so soo yummy, warm, and buttery. I ate the more earthy and fishy dishes while my husband had the more hearty, meaty dishes. My favorite dish out of these courses was the carrot dish. Grove was also the first place where I tried an olive oil cake that I was first skeptical about, but absolutely loved after I ate it. All this to say, it was such a memorable experience coming here and I would very much recommend this restaurant !

I was surprised at how long it took for the 2 hosts to greet us - as we were standing directly in front of them. They were talking to one another, and it was probably work related, but to just stand there staring at them for a couple minutes while they ignored us was awkward. When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. The space is really nice, felt intimate without being overcrowded. We are looking forward to coming back!

What a disappointment, but not nearly as much as our experience at 123 Tavern. We came in at 4:15PM before the Brandi Carlile show needing a table for a party of 8-10. The place was fully booked (but only half full at that time) except the bar (first-come, first-served). Fair enough -- but from the moment we walked up, the manager at the host stand couldn't have cared less. She quoted a two-hour wait, shut down my question about sitting outside with a flat no, and pointed us toward the bar. No sense of customer service at all. Like zero. The three of us who were there took the last open seats at the bar. Then came the real show: one bartender for the entire restaurant AND bar. He ignored us for ten minutes. My wife and friend got their beers quickly -- but my bourbon sat finished at the service station for another seven minutes while I watched the large ice cube melting as it marinated there. When I finally asked where my drink was, I got "I'm working on it." When he did finally bring it, he pushed it across the bar at me -- no apology, no eye contact, his attention on anything but me. I'll be honest about what I can't prove: I've worked in this industry a long time, and the whole thing read like my service got intentionally slow-walked. My drink held back while everyone around me was taken care of. Maybe the front manager said something after our rocky start at the host stand. Maybe they're just all bad at their jobs. I can't tell you which. I can only tell you how obvious it felt from the barstool. Everything after was the same; menus, ordering, closing out, all a slog. I had to hunt down that same manager for our check so we could get to the show, and she was all attitude, zero help. We only escaped because my wife flagged a server who found a another manager. His response to hearing all this? "I'm sorry." Nothing else. No attempt to make it right. For the first time in my life, I left $0 on a $100 tab. I'm a 25%+ tipper. That's how badly this went. Here's the thing, 123 Tavern: if you're going to bill yourself as a place to gather before events, staff the place and train your managers to act like they want customers there. Until then, I'll spend my money somewhere that values it.

It's the best steak I can remember having in a long time, and on a relatively inexpensive cut such as a hangar. I just can't express enough how impressed I was with it. I had the French Toast with granola, lemon curd, and whipped cream (all made in house with bread from the bakery next door). The genius of the meal was the hint of mint in the whipped cream. Delicious! They also have a kids menu and are family friendly. It was a little pricey but the food and service were worth it. I highly recommend Little Bird for breakfast, but they also have a lunch and dinner menu plus a wide variety of cocktails, wine, and beer.

The staff is so sweet especially our server Hope, as well Caleb who we had a great conversation with. Both were friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the duck confit hash, which was amazing. It was so flavorful and delicious. I had the Bousin & herb French omelette, which was melt-in-your mouth creamy deliciousness. This is not your typical breakfast place. The chef makes unique and creative dishes, definitely elevated. Two disappointments for me - 1) I wish they had sourdough without flax seeds. I had to get gluten-free bread instead since I can't do seeds. Meh. 2) I was looking forward to a cappuccino, but not offered here. Other than those two minor things, I loved it!!

The menu is extensive and filled with delicious, comfort meals... including the TV dinners. I saw this and felt like I had to try it! I just got the chicken fingers version and their fried chicken, mac and cheese were sooo good. I even loved the little veggie mix! But the winner, which got me to even order it, was the little brownie that came along with it. A full meal with dessert for such a small amount of $$. I look forward to trying their brunch sometime or coming back to try more of their items again!

We got the pickle tickle as well as the Southern raw fries (more like deep fried spiral cut potatoes) which were both good. I got the nachos since I tend to get them whenever I go and all were very good. My daughter is vegetarian and they had lots of vegetarian options. Service was good and quick. All 5 stars. They even have their own canned root beer. How cool is that. Unfortunately it was a little too sweet with maple syrup/molasses taste for me (to be fair the waitress forewarned me about the fair. But why not try their signature root beer. I don't regret it one bit). My only issue, which is out of their control was that the parking lot was packed on a Saturday 6pm, so we had to find street parking down the road.

They also were very good at simply leaving us alone and letting us have a nice evening. The food was delicious! We had the special appetizer of foccia bread and a ragu with goat cheese and pesto. It was so yummy. Two of us had the summer risotto without any added protein. The risotto was so creamy and full of flavor. I had to force myself to slow down because it was just so good I wanted to eat it all. Instead, I chose to savor each bite. The third member of our party ordered the pork chop which was cooked beautifully. We also had the blueberry cobbler with ice cream, which while not anything like the cobbler that I make, was very tasty. There were some minor things like mislabeling a Chiante Classico and a Super Tuscan from Spain (ES) and Italy (IT) on the wine list and the noise level being loud enough it was difficult for myself and another member of our party to hear as we are both hearing impaired, but we managed. All in all a really good evening! I recommend Linear!
